Yeah, I'm still kinda shocked that they're going with Lesnar/Joe. It's like one of those rare moments where WWE creative pulls their
head out of their asses and thinks "hmmm, what's something cool and fresh and different that we can book?" and then actually does it.

My immediate question: Given that it's extremely unlikely for Joe to actually go over at Balls, do they let Joe choke Brock out on RAW once to
try and build intrigue and make him seem like a more credible contender? Because that would be a bit for the old highlight reel. If they let Joe do
that, it should just be the only graphic in his entrance video, on repeat.

I'm
Hoping that Joe doesn't "lose", but that Braun returns and beats the crap out of both of them.

I thought the event sucked as a whole, but the main event was pretty good. It's almost comical how un-extreme Extreme Rules was. It's like
Nike or McDonald's trying to be "edgy".
As with everyone else, I am surprised they went with Joe. However, as is typical of the WWE, they have telegraphed nearly every booking decision
(Jinder and Joe not withstanding) so the result of GREAT BALLS OF FIRE will not be in doubt no matter who many times Joe chokes out Lesnar on RAW.

I feel like I'm in La-La Land, where AJ Styles and Samoa Joe could both hold WWE "World" (WWE and Universal, respectively) Championships in
the same calendar year.
Going from 2002 Heat and 2001 Jakked jobbers to 2017 Champions?

If the WWE's s-m-r-t, they'll somehow let Joe make use of this fiasco whenst he goes toe to toe with Heyman.
And yeah don't forget that, no matter the likely outcome of the match, we at least get a few Joe vs. Pauly D promos out of the proceedings. Good
times.

After last night, I have no idea what they are doing with Bayley, but she is absolutely drowning on the main roster right now. She's been made
to look like an absolute joke during this feud. If she had gotten in any offense with the kendo stick but still lost, that would have been one thing,
at least she could have gotten some measure of revenge against Bliss. Instead, she was made to look completely weak.

At this point in their respective burials what's the difference between the two anyway?

Just a minor stat, but still one worth noting for a guy whose been written off a few times; but Miz claimed his 7th IC title last night, and with that
moves solely into possession of 2nd place for all time reigns behind Jericho's 9 wins. Miz pulled away from Jarrett and RVD. At 36, and enjoying
a career run the odds are probably pretty good that he can grab another two titles and eclipse Jericho.... not too shabby, and with a WM main event,
WWE title reign, 2 US title reigns, 6 combined tag titles, and being a triple crown/grand slam guy it's amazing how the guy has kinda quietly
carved out a near first ballot HOF career for himself. I say "near" because he's not a Rock or Austin, but more in the vein of an Edge who
racked up more WWE titles than anyone else in history with little attention being called to it.

To reiterate, Bayley's not a lost cause, she was Womens champ just a few months ago, I know she can come back from this. It took her some time
for her to find her footing back in NXT.
Its just that right now, I'm not sure how they can go about doing it. She went into the match saying that she was empowered by watching the
Wonder Woman movie, and then...that happened. She didn't look strong in defeat, she didn't look like a threat, she got pinned cleanly in a
match that just barely crossed the 5-minute mark after getting the shit beaten out of her by a kendo stick.
We'll just have to see where they go with it tonight.

The only way back is for her to totally lose her shit at some point soon and really beat the shit out of Alexa, perhaps by outwrestling her and making
use of Alexa's double jointed ability to make it look like she maimed her.
As a longtime Joe mark I am fucking delighted he got the win, as already mentioned the Joe/Paul E promos will be gold, and while he is just filler due
to Strowmans injury, its a great opportunity for him to show his stuff.
I echo the above post in that I'd rather see it end with Strowman interfering then maybe a 3 way at Summerslam.
It's such a shame the main event scene has the dark cloud of Reigns/Lesnar at WM hanging over it.

Just a thought, but why are we so sure Joe couldn't be A Thing, even facing a guy like Brock? Brock's recently been manhandled by
Goldberg, so wouldn't it be within reason that a guy like Joe could conceivably storyline do the same?
If they wanted to do an unbeatable badass switcheroo, why not have Brock be the aging warrior that has to get his mojo back and earn his way to the
title through guys like Joe, Strowman, and even Reigns? Finn was getting hyped as the guy to take on Brock and now here we are with Joe instead. HHH
and him are pretty friendly and he's a full-timer to boot.
Perhaps they try to catch that A.J. lightning-in-a-bottle agayn with him? Story's definitely there as Joe basically started in the WWE and now
he's back to get the most important title he's never had in 18 years of foitin' 'round the world, etc.

I'm glad Joe is getting a shot to prove he can operate at the highest level. A decade too late, but I always thought he could have been the top
star in wrestling (ahead of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles). I don't think he could have reached Rock/Austin level, but he could have been
in the next tier.

And this is only half a joke because it was only a few weeks ago that they made JBL say about Orton "now that's whud a dubba-ewe dubba-ewe eee
superstar LOOKS lahk!". If it weren't for NXT changing their own game on them, and having no more sizable competitors to raid their preferred
jacked-up nimrods from, they probably would have been content to ignore the likes of Joe, Owens, Bray, etc. for as long as they possibly could.
They've come a long way, baby, but it's not that long ago that most of these remaining indy and NXT guys of WWE caliber would have been
laughed off by Vince and likes of Johnny Laurinitis based on their looks alone. Look at Chris Hero's muffin top problems as recent evidence of
that kind of thinking still being there too, after his first release from NXT.

Oh, I absolutely think Joe can be a thing. I fucking love Joe, he's been one of my favorite acts in wrestling going back to his TNA days. I have
less confidence in WWE's willingness to push him as a top level guy - they've done pretty well so far, but they also initially
didn't even sign him to a proper contract, just as a mercenary guy they kind of wanted to use to help out in NXT, only he got over way more than
they expected.
I would be very happy if my doubts were proved wrong. Of course, I think there's a chance that Johnny Gargano could be the next Daniel Bryan, so
whadda I know?
Re: the Bayley burial. Yeah, they made her look like a chump and a fool. I think they have to break Bayley, put her at the back of the line and build
her up again. I think her character was never well served by being brought up as a star and pushed like one right out of the gate, because
that's not really Bayley - it should've been her trying to reach the next level, coming up short and having to improve her game to get
there. That's what worked in NXT and, while it might've been 'trying to redo the story', simply saying that being on the main
roster is another level of competition would've explained it - not to mention that Bayley only ruled the division once most of the current
women's roster had left NXT.
I'm also okay with it because it's strong, decisive booking in favor of Alexa Bliss, who's absolutely performed and earned her
position as the top woman on RAW (and maybe in the WWE period right now, with Charlotte taking a backseat on Smackdown). Last week's stupid skit
debacle excluded, of course. No 50/50, back and forth booking here - Alexa's looked dominant.

The first time I went to Chikara and saw Gargano, I knew he had the "it" whatever "it" is. I don't know if I see a main eventer, but I do
think he'll be a serviceable mid-card guy. I think the Ciampa fund will tell us a lot about his future.
