I was surprised and dismayed at the results myself, but even more shocked by how effective The Claw was. The next round should be ready mid-next-week-ish.

Beautiful Hanover, Germany is the site of this next qualifier, and it opens up with a bang... Norman Smiley and Jesse "The Body" Ventura against KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji. Marufuji picks up the win with the Shiranui in 12:45 to a standing ovation. 4.25 stars.

The second match features a team of two multi-time champions versus one of WCW's greatest tag teams... Kurt Angle and Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Harlem Heat. Angle lays Stevie Ray out early with an Angle Slam but Booker T makes the blind tag. Austin and Angle win after a botched move by Stevie Ray leads to a pin by Austin at 23:18. 2.25 stars.

The next match has ROH standouts CM Punk and Colt Cabana facing off against the massive tag team of Andre the Giant and Haku. Haku goes down like a ton of bricks when put in the Anaconda Vice by punk after 2:03. 1.5 stars.

***

Angle and Austin open up Round Two against Punk and Cabana. Angle is warned just before the four minute mark after a five count on a boot choke. Cabana picks up the win after a tornado DDT on Steve Austin in 20:22. 3.5 stars.

Harlem Heat are up next against Norman Smiley and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Booker T comes out with the win after hitting Norman Smiley with a Scissor Kick at 12:03. One star.

The final match pits KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji against Andre the Giant and Haku. KENTA picks up a countout win when he threw Andre out of the ring and Andre wasn't able to get back in before a ten-count. .5 stars at 10:20.

***

Kenta and Naomichi Marufuji open up the next round against Kurt Angle and Steve Austin. After a match that the crowd enjoyed, KENTA pinned Austin after the Busaiku Knee Kick in 19:39. 2.5 stars.

The next match pits CM Punk and Colt Cabana against Harlem Heat. There were several finish attempts on both sides and several very close pin attempts that were thwarted by the various tag partners, but Colt Cabana ends up picking up the win after hitting the Colt 45 on Booker T in 24:41. 3.5 stars.

Finally, we have The Colossal Collection going up against Norman Smiley and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Andre wins this one after countering a punch from Ventura with a backslide in 18:24. 1.25 stars.

***

Cabana and Punk start us off against Norman Smiley and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Punk and Cabana pick up another win after Colt breaks the Norman Conquest and hits Smilye with a monkey flip in 25:07. 3.25 stars.

KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji take on Harlem Heat in our next bout. They make quick work of them after Marufuji counters a powerslam from Booker with a sunset flip at 1:44. 1.25 stars.

Round Four's final match brings Andre and Haku against Austin and Angle. Haku ends up winning this one against a surprised Kurt Angle in 24:37 with the Tongan Death Grip. 2.5 stars.

***

Booker T and Stevie Ray hope to take out their next opponents... The Colossal Connection. Halem Heat wins after Stevie Ray hits the Slapjack on Haku for a three-count at 16:50. The brutal judges of TNM gave this one negative two and a quarter stars, and I'm secretly holding out to see a negative five star match.

Ventura and Smiley are looking for a win against Kurt Angle and Steve Austin in our next match... and they do, when Jesse Ventura put Kurt Angle into an Inverted Body Vice. 13:29, 3 stars.

Our final match of the tournament pits two unbeatens together... KENTA and Naomichi Marufiji against CM Punk and Colt Cabana. Punk and Cabana hold a point edge on the two Japanese wrestlers (since one of their victories was via count-out), but one team is walking out of this one undefeated. And... the virtual booker that is TNM7 needs to be shot, because the match ended in a double countout (2.25 stars) at 8:22. One point for each team.

And now, YOUR standings...

1. CM Punk and Colt Cabana (Chris is Good): Four wins, no losses, one draw.

2. KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji (Spinch): Four wins, no losses, one draw. They're in second due to the countout win over Andre and Haku. The top two teams advance.

3. Harlem Heat (Carlito's Coconut): Two wins, three losses.

and

The Colossal Connection (WLD): Two wins, three losses.

5. Kurt Angle and Steve Austin (Jodrell): One win, four losses.

and

Normal Smiley and Jesse Ventura (Gatorbait): Four wins, one loss.

And now, YOUR wild card standings...

1. Mike Sanders and Matt Striker (Gatorbait): 15 points.

2. The Road Warriors (Attitude Adjuster), Harlem Heat (Carlito's Coconut), and The Colossal Connection (WLD): 10 points.

5. The Rock & Sock Connection (Spinch), Los Guererros (Chris Is Good), Kurt Angle and Steve Austin (Jodrell), and Normal Smiley and Jesse Ventura (Gatorbait): 5 points.

More coming soon.

Just catching up here. I'm surprised by Baron as well, because I can't get him to do jack in my federation--and I like him! Sgt. Slaughter must be carrying his German butt.

Sadly enough, there's already a Utah Lake here. A steel mill used to dump a lot of water in it and the average water depth is a mere eight feet. It's infested with carp. It's in Utah County. They're collectively the least creatively-named locations ever.

Naah, Havasu's in Arizona.

But I do promise an update both here and in various other places by the end of the week.

Or I'll adopt the humiliating avatar of whoever's choice until the end of the month.

By the way, I could use an export of Shelly and Devine if anyone could snag one for me (proxy at work's blocking me). Mine are somehow corrupted.

OK... unforseen hangup. For some reason, my TNM installation refuses to import Alex Shelly. The troubleshooting that I've done with TNM's support hasn't done much for me.

We've got two options... if we want to get the show on the road, we can use a substitute. Maybe throw Nash in or something.

Second option- I nuke the matches I've already held on the latest circuit and try running them from a different PC that might import Shelley.

Your thoughts?

It's more than likely that it's the import that's fried rather than the PC or the TNM game. I'd move on without Shelley and cut your losses. Sometimes those imports are sketchy if they don't come directly from Oliver.

FINALLY... the Tag Team Tourney HAS COME BACK to Online Onslaught!

***

We're opening this one up with a match between two well-established tag teams... Demolition and The Brainbusters, Anderson and Blanchard. Smash attacks Arn before the bell even rings, and it was a bloodbath from there... Arn busted Smash open by dropping him onto the guardrail as a retaliatory gesture. After plenty of back-and-forth action, the Brainbusters get the win after Arn hits a faceslam on Smash and tosses him out of the ring... where he doesn't get up. Two points for a countout win. 11:38, and half a star.

Next up we've got the well-established tag team of Edge and Christian facing off against a pair of high fliers in Paul London and Rey Mysterio. Rey and Paul take the win after Rey hits Christian with the 619 and then puts him in a Fujiwara Armbar! 13;37 and 3.5 stars worth of pure flippy shit goodness.

We're rounding things out with Nash's old team versus his new cronies... The Outsiders versus Team Paparazzi (yes, I finally was able to get Shelley imported).

Nash: "Oslo's a great city. Why, I had a match against Ludvig Borga here in '94 that had about half a million people screaming my name. My good friend here, Scott "Last Call" Hall, was drinking some barleywine. From the look on his face, it seemed to be good stuff."

Nash went for the Jackknife early, but Shelley countered with a very timely uppercut to the Mansack area. To the shock of EVERYONE, his testicles did NOT rupture and he's still in the match. However, Hall did get pinned after Devine hit the Devine Intervention on Hall at 7:50. One star.

***

Demolition is curtain-jerking today in a special, two-match only "I screwed up and picked the wrong teams" round, and their partners in jerking are The Outsiders. God, that doesn't sound right. Regardless, it looks like The Outsiders pulled one off (I'm on a roll!) after 19:30 in a trainwreck of a match that got negative .25 stars.

Nash: "Those jerkoffs (HAW!) rating the matches are biased. I'm an X-Divison and tag-team legend. I own them! "

The Brainbusters are up next against The Paparazzi... and in another surprise win, Shelley rolls Blanchard up with an inside cradle at 15:51! 2.5 stars.

***

The Red-Hot Paparazzi are facing off against the team of Rey and Paul London in a fast-paced match that saw Rey and Paul win after Devine held a chokehold for more than a five count on Mysterio. 1.25 stars, and 18 minutes.

Axe and Smash are going up against Edge and Christian for our next match. Christian wins after hitting Ax with a frog splash in 11:40. 2.5 stars.

The Brainbusters and The Outsiders are rounding things up (for now)... and Nash and Hall can't buy a win. Nash went for the Jackknife and his poor, mistreated bathing-suit region got an elbow to it. Arn immediately retaliates with a Gourdbuster, and it's one, two three. 1.75 stars.

***

Another Round of Two starts today with Rey-Rey and London up against Demolition. Demolition were on a mission today, with Ax giving multiple Decapitation Elbow attempts that were blocked... but once Demolition hit the Demolition Decapitation, it was all over. 10:28, 2.5 stars.

Edge and Christian take on Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard in the next match... or at least that was the original plan. The Outsiders came to ringside immediately after the bell, and Nash is out for blood... hitting Tully Blanchard with a MASSIVE chairshot, giving the Brainbusters the DQ win, worth two points. One star, twenty-three seconds. Will Arn and Tully interfere in the Outsiders next match?

***

The next round brings us a well-rested Edge and Christian up against the team that caused them to get a DQ loss in the last match... The Outsiders. Christian attacks Nash before the bell, and it's on! Edge speared Hall after about six minutes, but Nash made a timely save... only to get speared by Edge after another five or so. 10:12, 2.75 stars.

How can we follow that match? Easy... by pitting Demolition against The Paparazzi. The Demos keep up their winning ways by getting the win via submission (Smash on Johnny Devine) at 7:39. Two stars.

The Brainbusters are competing in their last match of the tournament, going up against the high-flying team of Rey and Paul London. After an inadvertent ref bump by London, Blanchard locks Rey Mysterio in an abdominal stretch... and The Brainbusters get the win after Rey's in the hold for 19 seconds. 5:29, 1.75 stars.

***

The last two matches of the day bring Edge and Christian against The Paparazzi. Both teams have the same Win/Loss Record at this point, so this match will most likely show who goes on to the Finals and who stays home. E&C; take this one through a Jumping DDT perfectly executed by Edge to Alex Shelley. 4:43, 2.5 stars.

Rounding things out are London and Mysterio versus The Outsiders. In a semi-shocking move, London throws Brian Hebner out of the ring at one minute. Nash went for the Jackknife at 3:32, but he again was dealt a heaping helping of testicular trauma. It must've bothered him for the rest of the match... after being hit with the West Coast Pop at 11:58, Nash tried to counter with a vertical suplex but Mysterio rolled him up in a small package. Hall's attempted save was all for naught. 12:58, 2.25 stars.

And Now... YOUR Oslo Qualifier Final Standings!

1. Edge and Christian (Jodrell): 3 wins, two losses.

2. The Brainbusters (WLD):Two wins, Two DQ wins, one loss. The top two teams advance, but Brainbusters are ranked lower due to their two DQ wins.

3. Rey Mysterio and Paul London: (Chris is Good) Two wins, One DQ win, two losses.

4. The Paparazzi (Carlito's Coconut): Two wins, three losses

AND

Demolition (Metallikid): Two wins, three losses.

6. The Outsiders (Gatorbait): One win, four losses.

***

Here are YOUR wild card standings...

1. Mike Sanders and Matt Striker (Gatorbait): 15 points.

2. Rey Mysterio and Paul London: (Chris is Good): 12 points.

3. The Road Warriors (Attitude Adjuster), Harlem Heat (Carlito's Coconut), The Colossal Connection (WLD), and The Paparazzi (Carlito's Coconut): 10 points.

7. The Rock & Sock Connection (Spinch), Los Guererros (Chris Is Good), Kurt Angle and Steve Austin (Jodrell), Normal Smiley and Jesse Ventura (Gatorbait), and The Outsiders (Gatorbait): 5 points.

Welcome, everyone, to Manchester, England! We've got a great match to open things up... Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit versus Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire. Continuing the trend of surprise wins, Jindrak hits the Mark of Excellence on Chris Benoit at 19:25. Two stars.

Next up we have the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff taking on the beefy team of Gorilla Monsoon and Batista. The Big Russian got the win versus the Animal via Bearhug in 22:52. One star.

Finally, we've got the current Smackdown tag team champions, Paul London and Brian Kendrick, versus their latest challengers... the Blue Bloods. What a coincidence. In a move that may be prophetic, David Taylor hits Paul London with a flying headbutt for the three count. 18:33, 2.75 stars.

***

Tonight's matches open with a brawl between Y2J and The Rabid Wolverine against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. The older team gets the win in this one when Jericho submits to the Camel Clutch after 31 seconds of being held in it. 8:56 was the final time... 2.25 stars.

Jindrak and O'Haire are looking to keep on going strong against the high-flying team of London and Kendrick. O'Haire was knocked out cold early on in the match, but Kendrick woke him up by slamming him into the ringsteps. After some furious back-and-forth action, London and Kendrick pick up the win after London pins Jindrak with a slingshot Oklahoma Roll, and I'm suddenly hungry for sushi. 11:22, 2.25 stars.

Rounding things out are The Blue Bloods going up against Gorilla Monsoon and Batista. The Animal picks up a win for his team when he hits the Batista Bomb on David Taylor at 18:51. 2 stars.

***

Y2J and Benoit open things up for the third straight round, this time going up against a team hoping to gain an advantage from the hometown fans... Regal and Taylor. Benoit hit a flying headbutt early on David Taylor, but he kicked out just in time. Taylor pulled Jack Doan in front of a Jericho clothesline at around seven minutes and then locks Benoit in an armbar, which he escapes after 44 seconds. The Blue Bloods end up getting the win after Regal capitalizes on Benoit's weakened condition after locking him in the Regal Stretch. 13:07, 3.25 stars.

Jindrak and O'Haire are up next, up against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. This was a flat-out brawl, with both members of each team throwing the others into the ring-posts... guard rails... and whatever else were available. Mike Sparks ended up counting both teams out... so one point for each. Negative .25 stars, 2:13.

Our last match is a contest of speed versus power... London and Kendrick versus Batista and Monsoon. Power wins the day after Batista nails Kendrick with a suplex into a powerslam. 18:40, 2.5 stars.

***

We've got a match here that pits two of the most dominant teams versus each other... William Regal and David Taylor versus Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire. Mike Chioda went down not once but THREE TIMES during the match, all courtesy of Mark Jindrak... but never disqualified him. The Blue Bloods pick up the win via David Taylor hitting Sean O'Haire with a double underhook suplex after 20:17. 2.75 stars.

Benoit and Jericho are hoping for a win next against Batista and Gorilla Monsoon. Benoit and Jericho pick up their first win after a slobberknocker when Benoit pinned Batista with a Northern Lights Suplex. 18:06. 2.75 stars.

***

The Blue Bloods are up next against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. The Sheik and Volkoff win in a quick match when David Taylor gets pinned after a Bearhug by Volkoff. 4:36, 1.25 stars.

London! Kendrick! Jericho! Benoit! It's the SECOND MATCH IN THIS ROUND, right here on Online Onslaught! The youth beat the more experienced fighters after Paul London nailed Chris Benoit with a vertical facebuster after 7:17. Three stars.

The next match is SQUASHTACULAR! Gorilla Monsoon and Batista plowed through O'Haire and Jindrack when the Animal and Gorilla whipped O'Haire into the ropes, killed him with a double kick to the midsection, and then hit him with a spinebuster. 1:41, two stars.

Next up we've got the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff versus Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Can the high fliers defeat the guile and badnickery that these dastardly foreigners possess? Yes they can. London hits London Calling on the Iron Sheik for the three count at 11:41. 1.75 stars.

And now... the ratings for the Manchester Qualifier.

1. The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff: Three wins, one loss, one double countout. They advance to the finals. However, there's a clusterfuck at second...

2. The Blue Bloods (WLD), Paul London and Brian Kendrick (Jodrell), and Batista and Gorilla Monsoon (Figure Foreskin): Three wins, two losses. Since all three teams have the same record, I double-checked their matches with each other.

Batista/Monsoon get to go to the finals as they defeated both of the other teams with the same record. The Blue Bloods defeated Paul London and Brian Kendrick, and London/Kendrick didn't defeat either. Their consolation is that they'll be near the top of the wild card standings.

5. Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire (Gatorbait): One win, one double countout, three losses.

6. Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho (Chris is Good): One win, four losses.

And now.. let's see what the Wild Card picture looks like...

1. Mike Sanders and Matt Striker (Gatorbait), The Blue Bloods (WLD), Paul London and Brian Kendrick (Jodrell): 15 points.

4. Rey Mysterio and Paul London: (Chris is Good): 12 points.

5. The Road Warriors (Attitude Adjuster), Harlem Heat (Carlito's Coconut), The Colossal Connection (WLD), and The Paparazzi (Carlito's Coconut): 10 points.

9. Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire (Gatorbait): 6 points.

10. The Rock & Sock Connection (Spinch), Los Guererros (Chris Is Good), Kurt Angle and Steve Austin (Jodrell), Normal Smiley and Jesse Ventura (Gatorbait), The Outsiders (Gatorbait), and Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho (Chris is Good): 5 points.

After a lot of shit happening in my life (both figuratively and literally... I got a jar of salmonella-infested peanut butter), I've realized how much I've slacked on the Tag Tourney (which is currently living on a ZIP disk in my car).

New matches up by Saturday... for two divisions.

We're going to get this damn thing finished one way or another.

I can't believe you would offer to do this league for us, then consistantly show up late with the results. What kind of self-centered asshole would do something like that?
