After embedding scores of videos, I no longer remember the code.... what the fuck?
I can't even find it with a search.... double what the fuck?

Wow. No idea what happened. I was doing exactly what I had always done, and it simply would not work. It would show all of the code, but not the
video. Don't know if it was a youtube issue, or a firefox, or an OO, but something was way broken last night...
And that song was pretty sweet.
edit... wow, this is weird. I had several OO tabs open last night, with various videos I wanted to embed... all of them appeared as code when I
previewed the post.... now, they're all embedded in the preview and are not code like they were before. I didn't even hit refresh or
anything. Bizarre.

And now its doing it again...
If I preview a video here, it works just fine, but if I try to make a new thread, the video won't preview... instead the code shows up.
I'm in Firefox, and tried doing the post in IE, but had the same thing occur. Fucking weird shit.

I'm gonna restart Firefox and give it another try. Why the code show in one tab, and the video in another is beyond me.

Did you try it in other forums south of here i.e. music, parts unknown, etc?
I seem to recall Youtubes embedding being disallowed "above the line" i.e. in wrestling parts, which may only apply to threads started.
Then again I may be drinking as much of whatever you're drinking in which case...pass a new one por favor.

So, I see that Devineman embedded a vid of Linda's concession speech into the Wrestling Forum. So, I did a little more testing. Results are as
follows:
Only the Retro and Divas forums do not allow embedding - neither as new topics nor as replies. In every other forum, I was able to embed a video as
either a new topic or reply to an existing topic.
Not sure why those two particular forums don't allow embedding.

What happened was that way back when, we only enabled the embedding and like features in Parts Unknown because it was the goof-off forum and it would
be way less distracting to have a shitload of videos posted in it, because it wasn't "serious." Then it became a "below the line" thing when
someone wanted to embed a political video in News, then someone wanted to embed game clips in Sports. Above the line, we started adding stuff as-is,
whenever someone asked or it became an issue. At this point I just assumed they were "on" everywhere.
Everything's fixed now. If people abuse the embed code, be sure to mash the report button on them, because that shit's annoying.
