I remember doing a paper on the origins of Christianity and finding it hilarious how their strategy was essentially: "We want people to convert to
our religion, so why don't we just steal a bunch of shit from pagans that people would like"

Yeah, and also not very original. People steal from religions all the time to convert the folks they just conquered. That's how the Romans
got gods for every hour of the day and day of the week and a million other things into their pantheon.
