Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival = WTF?
I recently read the lineup for this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and the lineup left me thinking "WTF?!" But there is the
fact that a good chunk of the concert is most likely going to be fucking awesome.
Main Stage -
Disturbed
Godsmack
Megadeth
[Rotating Opening Slot On Main Stage:]
Machine Head
In Flames
Trivium
Jagermeister Stage:
Unearth
Kingdom Of Sorrow
Red Fang
Extreme Stage:
Suicide Silence
All Shall Perish
Straight Line Stitch
Now the first thing that pops out at me is that Disturbed and Godsmack are headlining (which is to be expected from this type of festival and is
reason I've never gone to one of these). Where things start getting more awesome (at least for me) is with the inclusion of Megadeth, followed
by Machine Head, In Flames, and Trivium. Give me a four-pack of those bands and I will enjoy the hell out of it! Then I'll get the hell out of
dodge before Godsmack or Disturbed have a chance to soil my eardrums. I'm also a big fan of Kirk Weinstein (Crowbar, Down) and wouldn't
mind checking out his Kingdom Of Sorrow project.
Unfortunately this tour isn't coming around me at a time to where I could make it (it's coming to Raleigh and Atlanta but they're
both on weeknights and I'm going to be damned if I'll miss work for it) but if it was, I'd probably buy a ticket.

Let it be known that Tex went to this last night. Tex, I'd like a 500-word essay on your enjoyment (or lack thereof) of the evening's
metal festivities.

I can't hear a thing, I'm tired because didn't get home until 1:30, and my neck is sore from headbanging.
EDIT: I know Godsmack and Disturbed aren't a lot of people's things, but damn if they didn't put on great stageshows.

Glad you enjoyed it. And escaped any grievous bodily harm.
Actually, after some of your comments in my "I'm engaged" thread, I do sorta wish that you had taken a size 14 Doc Marten straight to the dome
by a ripped-out-of-his-mind crowd surfer.

Watching this guy in the row behind us was one of the more entertaining parts of the Megadeth segment.

Is that how I look when I'm rocking out at a metal show? *blows brains out*
