RIP Mike Starr
Kind of surprised no one's mentioned his passing around here yet.
From Wikipedia... grain of salt:quote: On March 8, 2011, Starr was found dead in Salt Lake City. Police told reporters they were called to
Starr's Salt Lake City home at 1:42PM where the musician's body was found; Starr was 44. Reports later surfaced that Starr's
roommate had seen him mixing Methadone and anxiety medication hours before he was found dead.

No surprise at all, sadly. Dude seemed to be on one big downward spiral since he was fired by Alice In Chains.
Very sad, either way. Hopefully he'll now find some peace.

You know, you look back at AIC's first EP and you look at the song titles:
We Die Young
Killing Yourself
And the lyrics contained within It Ain't Like That.
I've never seen three songs so accurately predict the almost complete destruction of a band.
This kind of stuff pisses me off in a big way right now. Maybe it's because I just watched Frankie Benali talk about Kevin Dubrow's death,
while discussing a documentary about Quiet Riot he just made from home videos.
"That's the only way I have to see my friend."
It's pathetic, really. To destroy yourself and leave behind people who care about you.
Apparently Amanda Bynes and Charlie Sheen are related, because she's full of the same kind of
crazy.

Almost the entire album of Dirt is about Layne's heroin addiction and how he can't control it.
I read an article on how being a huge rock star made it harder for Layne to even attempt to quit. Since he had money and people willing to get it
for him, he could get it anywhere, anytime. The dude was dead alone for two weeks in his apartment before they found his body. That's crazy.
Personally, I think hes a [freaking homosexual].

I recently watched some footage of AIC performing in Amsterdam from somewhere around '91 or '92 and Layne seemed particularly out of it.
I can only imagine what he might have gotten into in fucking AMSTERDAM.
