Soundgarden Touring in July
I'm just throwing this out there for the benefit of anyone who, like me, is an enormous Soundgarden fan. The band has announced that it will
tour from July 2-30. So far, only four shows have been announced, but they promise that other shows between those dates will be announced soon. Shows
currently announced with public ticket sales starting on April 23rd are:
- July 2 - Toronto, ON - Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
- July 13 - Philadelphia, PA - Festival Pier at Penn's Landing
- July 18 - Denver, CO - Red Rocks Amphitheatre
- July 22 - Los Angeles, CA - The Forum
I'm really hoping for a Montreal tour date, otherwise I'll have to road trip it down to Toronto and sell my body on the streets to pay for
the flights or the car rental and gas money.
Also, a few months ago, they announced that they had been playing a lot and were coming up with new songs for a future album. I'm quietly
optimistic that they'll follow through on that announcement.

If they come around Charlotte, I will be there. They were one of my favorite bands of my youth and I always regretted that I never got to see them
live. Hopefully I can remedy that now that they are back together.

They announced the remainder of their tour dates, today. I hate to break it to you, but they aren't going to be playing anywhere near Charlotte,
NC. Their nearest show will be in Fairfax, Virginia on July 12 at the Patriot Center.
I can't believe they aren't coming to Montreal, either. They're going to fucking London, ON, which has like a fifth the population
of Montreal! Sometimes I don't understand tour planning. They book a show in a much smaller market the day after they perform in Toronto and
their next show after London is in Ottawa. London is in the opposite direction of Ottawa! Anyhow, at least Ottawa is only a two hour ride away from
Montreal, so I suppose I'll try to go to that one. It helps that I know a lot of people in Ottawa, so there are a lot of couches that I can
sleep on.

Yeah, sucks for me. And their opening acts are fucking TOP NOTCH. Meat Puppets, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Mars Volta, Mastodon, and Coheed and
Cambria?! FUCK...YES.

The Meat Puppets are an amazing band. Their new disc Lollipop is vintage Kirkwood.
Soundgarden hits WA in George which is in the middle of the fucking state. i was hoping for more Seattle love given origins, but we'll see...

I'd be at that show in a heartbeat. Queens of the Stone Age are opening. That's an amazing double bill. I'd also be down with seeing
The Meat Puppets.
