15 years from now...
What do you see WWE's locker room looking like 15 or so years from now? From the current roster, who do you think will stay with the company for
that long? Who will step up and become the next Undertaker/HHH of the locker room, or the "big dog" amongst the solid workers and newcomers? What
indy talent do you see working for them at that point? Do you think they pick up any big names from TNA during the 15 years? Fuck, are there any kids
even (wrestlers' kids, perhaps) that you think will grow into the business? Will Vince be dead? What will HHH and Stephanie be doing with the
company?
If you're interested, where do you see TNA 15 or so years from now? Will guys like AJ Styles and James Storm still be with the company? Will
Abyss be the Hulk Hogan of that generation? Who's even managing the company at this point?
Lots of questions, no wrong answers. Basically just predicting the future here.
EDIT: Forgot a big question. Who are we watching on TV now, that's dead 15 years from now?

Hulk Hogan will unfortunatley continue being the Hulk Hogan of that generation. He's timeless that way.
Only way he's not is if he dies.

Which, unfortunately, he won't, because he's IMMORTAL.

Great topic Matte,
I was just thinking about this a couple days back when the very morbid WM7 list reared it's ugly head.
15 year careers are pretty tough to predict. I think back in 96 a lot of us would have called HHH, UT, HBK, Show, but predicting that Isaac Yankem,
Jerry Lawler, Foley, Bubba Dudley, Dreamer, Jarrett, etc would still be seeing high level PPV action would have been pretty unlikely.
Cena and Orton probably end up still being around in some capacity, hopefully a lesser one. Miz is young enough and over enough to reinvent himself
ala Jericho for a very long time. God I wish Punk would be but I've got a feeling he's been smart enough with cash to be done early.
Swagger may be a long term guy. Based on his family history, Cody Rhodes has about 40 years til he retires.
From TNA, Shelley, Sabin, Storm all have years left in the tank, and they will likely also always keep Velvet on the roster as long as she wants to
be. Morgan should be leading the locker room for TNA as he is the big guy who can move and talk to build around, but you never know who is driving
the TNA truck and somebody could anoint Abyss king 10 more times before Morgan gives up and jumps ship. And Styles likely goes another 15 years,
either becoming Ric Flair or Greg Valentine in about 2018.
Future leaders: it's hard to tell who it will be in 15 years but it sounds like Sheamus, Barrett, and Miz have the respect of some the older
guard, whereas others have been called out for random stupid stuff.
Who's dead? It kinda feels wrong to play deadpool with active rosters, but if Angle and both Hardys are alive, I'd be pleasantly
surprised. But Hogan and McMahon will definitely be alive.

I'd feel safe predicting that Jeff Hardy will be dead in 15 years time, but 15 years ago there were probably a lot of people predicting that
Scott Hall and Jake Roberts would be dead by now so it's really hard to say. The way things seem to go in wrestling, in 15 years Daniel Bryan
will probably have died of some freak accident and David Otunga will be the Undertaker of 2026. This business has the capacity to be that fucked
up.
I think Sheamus is probably a guy who ends up having a nice long career in WWE and probably sort of becomes the Triple H of tomorrow. As mentioned
above, Cody Rhodes is still very young and will probably stick around awhile. I'm sure once Richie Steamboat gets called up he'll be a big
deal.
I'm not trying to be a hater or a sk8er boi but I don't think TNA still exists in 2026. At the rate they're going I really don't
know if I'm giving them til 2016.

It's the exact opposite on my end, in that I'll likely abandon WWE for TNA by 2016 at the rate both companies are currently going.

For the deadpool: Angle, definitely. The guy just pushes himself too hard. Jeff Hardy may die tomorrow, and Helms is too stupid to live long
(although I think Matt lives a long life). Any musclehead like Steiner, Terry, and Batista/Ryan all probably have shorter shelflives, as well as
Triple H. And as much as I hate to say it, Mick Foley has taken way too many bumps to not have years taken off his life.
For people we will still follow, Sheamus and Barrett seem to be no-brainers once WWE gets their heads out of their asses. Miz seems in it for the
long haul, and I'll bet Cena still has something to do with WWE in that time. I also agree that anyone with the last name Rhodes is a lifer. I
think Shelley, Sabin, and Roode are still around then too (but not Storm).

I don't know if this is really a good time for this question as you have a glut of guys kinda in the middle of the spectrum that makes 15 years
from now probably a wash for the vast majority of the roster. Cena, Orton, Punk, Barrett, Sheamus... ect, are all age 30-34 and probably only have
5-10 years left in them.
I mean even newer "stars"(for some I use the term loosely) or guys poised for a breakthrough like ADR, Otunga, Sheffield, Morrison, Jackson,
McGuilicutty, Riley, Kofi... ect, all come in at 29-34 years old and seem to neither have the skills or body type that would lend itself to lasting
another 15 more years in the spotlight.
I do agree about Miz though, he just seems to have that style about him that despite being around the 30 mark too, could probably go until his mid
40's in some kind of capacity. Barrett kind of reminds me of Regal for other reasons aside from the simillar accents, so I could see him making
a good run of it too.
Swagger, Mason Ryan, and Sin Cara are all 28-29 and all seem to have an up side ahead of them which might make it appealing to stick around for a good
length of time, but Car won't be able to keep up the high flying stuff forever, Ryan looks like he's got a future of ripped
pectoral's or shoulder surgeries ahead of him, so its really only Swagger that I could see out of those three really racking up the years.
I'm guessing Cena goes the Austin route, and probably settles into some kind of film career making sporadic returns to help out with some
reality show, guest ref, or wrestlemania comeback feud. As odd as it sounds, Sheamus has such a distinct look and seems to have some real personality
so I could see him finding Hollywood work too in the future. Orton will probably be around for a while, and depending on how much bigger his face run
gets I could also see him getting some villain of the week acting jobs on TV or Thug #3 type roles in movies too.
Ziggler is 30 but would look to have some longetivity to him, and Evan Bourne is 28 but also looks like he could last in the biz in a Christian like
role. Otherwise your list of guys around 25 is highlighted by MacIntyre (25), Zack Ryder (26), Cody Rhodes (25) Trent Barretta (24) and Husky Harris
(24). Slater, Tarver, and Dibiase are all 27-28, and Justin Gabriel is 30, but between untapped potential and not being overly ripped or just look
prone to injury, could probably stretch out their careers another 15 more years.
Outside of maybe Drew or Dibiase when he first broke in, I see a lot of 2nd round and later style "draft picks" in there, the WWE is probably going
to have to do some work to really develop some future stars right out of the gate (or close to it). Not saying some of these late bloomers can't
headline a wrestlemania with the right push and circumstances, they just need that much more work to get them there though.
