Podcast Thread
I hope I'm not rehashing some old thread, but I thought it might be cool to discuss our favorite podcasts. I'm relatively new to a lot of
them, but I'm enjoying finding good ones.
My current favorites:
Comedy Bang Bang (formerly Comedy Death Ray)- it's a weekly radio show generally featuring Los Angeles-based alt comics. They've got a
lot of episodes with Paul F. Tompkins (often doing his ridiculous impressions of Ice T, Cake Boss and Paul Stanley), some Sarah Silverman, Zach
Galifianakis, Doug Benson, and many others. Usually a pretty breezy and absurd conversation.
Judge John Hodgman- If you like Hodgman's style, this is a pretty funny set of podcasts. Hodgman has listeners call in and present their sides
of petty disputes, and then he decides the case. He's really sharp and his interjections generally make the show.
Others I like or plan to get into:
SModcast- Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier's long-running podcast. If you like Smith at all, this is usually a pretty good show. If you hate
Smith, you'll hate him a lot more after listening (fair warning).
WTF- Marc Maron's podcast. Maron usually leads with his own ramblings and then interviews one or two guests, generally comedians. I like this
show but the quality seems to vary greatly from episode to episode, depending on the guest. That said, some of the best ones are with the worst
guests (see Gallagher and Mencia).
Never Not Funny- Jimmy Pardo hosts the show and usually has one or two guests from the LA scene. Pardo's a really solid host who tends to bring
out the funniest from his guests.
The Art of Wrestling- I'll give credit to our own Figure Foreskin for tipping me off to this one. Colt Cabana interviews fellow wrestlers and
just talks about the business. He's a funny and easygoing host who gets good stuff from the guests. His ep with CM Punk is really good.
Do you guys have any favorites or thoughts on those I've listed?

I've been meaning to give this thread some love for 2 months but now is better then never. I've been listening to a number of sports
podcasts for a few months now. I like some of the espn ones: BS Report, Baseball Today, and occasionally Mike and Mike in the Morning. Also a big
fan of Joe Posnanski's Poscast.
On the wrestling side of things We Want Wrestling is pretty good but Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling is fantastic. I generally skip the first
few minutes where he is just plugging his shit, but he is great with the interviews.
I haven't ventured out into many non sports podcasts, but I'll have to check out some of those soon
@townofdalem you're awesome #fact

I pretty much only listen to podcasts when I'm travelling but Dan Savage's podcast is always awesome.

I enjoy Joe Rogan's podcast most of the time as background noise when I'm playing video games. My favorite comedy podcast is Huff &
Stapes, by far. Five tacos and a taco is pretty good too. That's about all I get going anymore.

Art of Wrestling is fantastic. A short list of some of the other "best" episodes (in my opinion) to check out for someone who hasn't been
listening since day one:
Cliff Compton (Domino)
Luke Gallows
CM Punk
Chris Hero
Zack Ryder
On the Kevin Smith front, I've also enjoyed "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old," which is just Smith and Mewes sitting around bullshitting and
telling stories.

I'm flying to Hawaii in six days so this thread has given me some good options to help pass the time on the flight. Thanks fellas!

Just wanted to bump this back up to say I have fully immersed myself in The Art Of Wrestling podcast. It is always an awesome listen. I've
been going back and downloading past episodes of wrestlers I'm interested in hearing Colt Cabana interview. AJ's aforementioned CM Punk
interview was very entertaining (and very interesting in retrospect since it was from so long before The Summer Of Punk happened).
Colt Cabana is great and it really makes you feel for the guy and all the other indy wrestlers when he'll drop a comment here and there about
how hard he has to work/travel, how little he gets paid, etc. Aside from the interviews, it is just a really interesting look inside the life of a
professional wrestler trying to make ends meet outside of WWE.

Stopped listening to comedy death ray a whole ago but Tompkins is great, especially his impressions of Ice T and Cake Boss. I just never liked
Aukerman that much and some of the guests (cough garfunkel and oates cough) are terrible. Still might download a few episodes before my vacation
though.
Smodcast is great.
Also really been enjoying Mohr Stories with Jay Mohr. He goes off on a lot of tangent, sucks off his guests, sometimes gets really pretentious, but it
is still really funny and enjoyable. Lot of interesting guests and stories.
Also from Smodcast, enjoyed Having Sex with Kate Morgan, but got depressed hearing her and her cohost talk about having sex 6 times a day.
In sports, love the BS Report, the Rich Eisen podcast and the Fantasy Focus Football podcast
And my favorite is the Adam Carolla podcast. The guests were slipping for a while but he just brought in. Murderers Row over the past few weeks. The
sound drops are awesome and his cohost is one of the few fu.ny female radio personalities out there. Only problem is how often he repeats himself.
