El Generico and Kevin Steen are wrestlings current best right now...

I flew over to Cali (from MD) last weekend to see PWG's one night Battle of Los Angeles tournament. PWG is just incredible these days. They have no stories, really. Very small feuds are the name of the game, and dream matches that no other company puts on usually are the main course. This years tourney was ONE NIGHT, and was probably the best top-to-bottom show they have ever put on.

Willie Mack beat Chris Hero in a great entertaining little match

El Generico beat Claudio after reversing a super ricola bomb (straight jacket powerbomb) in another great match

Eddie Edwards beat Roderick Strong in a really intense match. Ended it with a roll-up.

Fit fucking Finlay got his ass ROCKED by Kevin Steen (company champ). This match was STIFF AS FUCK. I can't believe Finlay was in a PWG ring, and BRINGING IT! You HAVE to see this match.

Joey Ryan and Scorpio Skyy had a good match with the RockNES monsters.

Generico beat Willie Mack in a good match. Probably the worst match of the night, and it was still a *** affair. Not a complaint can be said for this match.

Steen beat Edwards in a GREAT, GREAT match.

The Young Bucks beat Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli to retain their tag titles. Hero and Claudio were having their last match here, and it was a tag classic. Hero and Claudio went out in style.

El Generico and Kevin Steen reignited their rivalry and had a WAR here. This match had the crowd going ape shit up until Generico rocked Steen with a BRAINBUSTAAAAAH on the apron. It was amazing seeing Steen take it. Best BOLA final match in years.

Follow some PWG guys, it's fun stuff.

I'm honestly surprised Finlay worked a match with Steen considering the guy has crippled more people than Owen Hart. I'll have to look it up.

Sounds awesome. I couldn't believe when Generico hit Steen with the brainbustaaaaah off the top rope at Final Battle and doing it on the apron sounds insane too. He must be pretty strong to do that to someone so big and Steen obviously has total faith in him.

Steen and Generico are a biiiiiiiiig reason I miss ROH's deal with HD Net. Their feud was easily one of the best put together series of matches I've ever seen. None of it felt forced, or got old. They got sicker and sicker til.....which PPV was it, Final Battle 2010? Whichever it was, it was insanity. I will never be able to remove the image of Kevin Steen licking Generico's blood off his hand out of my mind.

How Kevin Steen hasn't been picked up by one of the majors yet, I'll never know.

Questionable knees is the only reason I've ever heard, which makes no sense since Rey Mysterio is on like his 18th knee surgery

Samoa Joe?

Maybe they think he's too fat but not enough to be a dominant monster like Brodus/Henry. I'm not agreeing, just throwing out possibilities.

As far as the knees, was he actually close to retiring or was it all a work?

Besides being "too fat" he just doesn't have the right look. Joe and Clay are fat but look like monsters. Steen is big but not big enough, plus he's kinda short and throw in the obvious bacne from prolonged steroid use and he isn't a prototypical mainstream wrestler.

With all that being said, if TNA was a legit wrestling company and not whatever they are now, Steen would be a perfect X-Division wrestler as the power guy in a division of high flyers. His stuff with Shelley, Sabin, Kaz, and others would probably be phenomenal.

He'd be one of the first indy hires I'd make if I was ever put in charge of booking TNA.

First time i'v heard this...

Also, to Flammable, yeah, him and Generico are like brothers. Been everywhere, trained together....I'v seen those two absolutely destroy eachother with moves. They have total faith in one another.

And let's not forget Steen has some of the prettiest Swanton's and moonsaults around. Guy can even do a 450, and it's AWESOME

I've had this argument on here before about Steen crippling people with the Package Piledriver. Apparently, he's done it to one person, I can't remember the name. But I'm still not entirely sure I believe that because when I google'd the name that whoever I was arguing said- I got nothing about him and Steen at all.
