Thought the BFG series was about top score, which is garbage, but

That is better, but does anyone know that for sure? The TNA website is so bush league that they don't have a preview article that explains what's happening.

If it is a tourney, I hope they go Roode/Gunner first, so once Roode wins, you expect Bully to win, but Storm gets the upset leading to a Beer Money final.

And I really, really hope the plan isn't a.BFG title match between Anderson and Ray.

Granted, I haven't been even remotely following TNA for months, but Austin Aries is getting the X Division title shot? That's awesome. Everything else on the show (except the Knockout match) looks boring, but I'd watch that for sure.

Not only that, but he has been the absolute highlight of the show the last month or more.
Totally running with the opportunity he's been given.

I fear they want Bully Ray to win the Series but that implies a face winning the world title so is Angle & his "taking out all the youngsters by fighting Sting" storyline completely over already? Unless they actually think a Gunner face turn would work?

Is AJ legitimately not on the show?
Have they completely stopped the Abyss leaving immortal story?

I think the worst case scenario is that Ray wins the BFG series and we have a title match of Anderson and Ray. After their classic at the last ppv, I'm sure that one would light up the box office.

Honestly?
You are not thinking RUSSO enough, there are about 14 scenarios that could happen that leave Bully Ray as the best option.
C'mon they haven't held the title up in months.
Sting Vs Gunner is awesome.
They could have one of Beer money turn heel on the other then still lose after trying to cash in TONIGHT!
Jeff Hardy could be added to the tournament or Crimson could win whilst still in a leg cast.

I am not advocating a Ray win but this is TNA we're talking about.

The Austin Aries- Brian Kendrick match was fantastic (with Aries picking up the win). I haven't been a fan of Kendrick for years, but this match harkened back to his ROH and other indy days (thanks to Aries being an awesome opponent).

Glad to see them give Aries the ball. Here's to an entertaining title run.

Aries wins the X-Division title and Roode wins the BFG tournament? I'd say that's two steps in the right direction for TNA.

How'd Roode win?

They didn't build him as well as they could have, but he deserves the shot and it's a move in the right direction. Probably guarantees an Angle victory tonight.

After Roode beat Gunner, Bischoff came out and set up Roode/Ray for later in the night to determine the winner (I'm glad they paid it off tonight) and Roode won the match.

Good, glad they did the tourney and 2 wins over Immortal makes him look strong.

The fact that Bischoff had to come out to make the match just highlights the sloppiness of the whole BFG series (and TNA writing in general). He shouldn't have had to make the match because it should have already been known that all the matches would be tonight. But they never seemed to have a plan and never made it clear what was going to happen.

I don't have a problem with Angle/Roode for BFG, but I don't like how every BFG main event has always featured either Angle or Sting, minus the very first one (which was Jarrett/Rhino). This will be the sixth BFG in a row to have one of those two in the main event.

And I was thinking it's kind of funny how Angle/Jeff/Anderson was the main event last year and one year later all three of those guys have been in Immortal at some point.

Oops, my bad. Look like the high score was supposed to win and that match only happened because Roode/Bully ended up tied. Probably leads to another Roode/Bully match coming up, plus Bully blames Gunner for not doing his job and costing Ray his shot.

Thought No Surrender was a good show in-ring...pretty much all of the matches were solid! The main event was very good...the Hogan interference is the only thing that threw it off but I guess that was needed since TNA feels they have to do a Sting vs. Hogan feud. Thumbs up

I like the idea of Roode getting the big push - though I think a very hard fought loss to Angle might be the way to go with the next match. I'd rip off the Austin/Hart finish where Roode won't tap to the ankle lock and instead passes out to pain, blood loss or a combination of both.

I remember Eddie Guerrero.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I am glad they seem to be pushing Robert Roode. He more than deserves it. He has worked his ass off to develop a personality and improve his promo skills. But on the other hand, Beer Money is one of my favorites tag teams in a LONG time. I would hate to see them broken up. Hopefully, Storm can get a new partner and develop the same kind of chemistry.

Just caught the show. You can pretty much say the same thing about every match.

Kash/Sorensen was ok.

Ray/Storm was not good and the ending was shit.

The Knockouts match was their worst in a long time. Winter and Mickie went from good matches to what was a pretty bad one with another shit ending. The ending itself was horrible, and so was Earl Hebner being the worst referee today. If he didn't motion for the ring bell in Montreal, he wouldn't have a job. He's always out of position and ruins endings like this.

The tag match was surprisingly good. Mainly because it followed the last 2 matches.

Morgan/Joe was a good match. I don't like how Morgan was nearly choked out, then just gets up and hits his finisher. Stuff like that makes it look stupid.

Roode/Gunner was boring.

Aries/Kendrick was the match of the night. It was one of the best X division matches in a while. It's worth checking out. I don't know how Aries is going to make Sorensen look good, but I believe he will. He's been gold lately.

Roode/Ray was alright. The end seemed a little abrupt. The crowd was really into Roode.

The title match didn't have any flow until Angle did 20 german suplexes. Even that was marred by, of course, a Hogan run in. The crowd popping and chanting Hogan makes me hate the impact zone crowd even more.

Overall, not their best effort. That's been the case with most of the TNA ppvs this year, besides Destination X. Every title match on ppv this year has featured a run in, or Jeff Hardy being fucked up. I would like to see 1 TNA title match not have a run in. Hopefully at BFG.

Speaking of BFG, I like Roode, but I'm not sure how well that match is going to go off. He and Angle should be good, because Angle is good with everyone. But, if I did star ratings, his matches at the ppv wouldn't have added up to 4, and I kind of doubt his ability to pull a 4 star match with Angle. At least he's not Anderson or Sting.

Also, Anderson stole old Matt Hardy's gut and fat face. He sucks.

There's this guy on YouTube who posts PPVs. I check them out from there, because fuck paying $30-$50 per month for what wrestling companies pass as PPVs these days. Example? This. If not for Austin Aries, TNA would be the number 3 company behind ROH. Quality wise, TNA is probably number 10 with a great market share.

Mind you, I'm not hating just to hate. I want to see "wrestling" when I tune in to TNA, because it's "where wrestling matters". Their ability to consistently under-promote what makes them great, while over-promoting their colossal failures? Makes me cringe.

I want TNA to succeed. I want them to offer a viable alternative. I want them to consistently show the flashes of brilliance they've shown. They don't. They have fantastic ideas with horrible, terrible, atrocious execution. By the time they finish their stories, the spark that got you to care has been stomped on and flushed down the toilet.

A solid foundation is useless when the carpenters are building the house with glue.
