Claudio Castagnoli signs with the wwe...

His new ring name is Antonio Cesaro - goes from being Swiss to Italian it seems. Will report to FCW (though I don't bloody know why - but would be interesting to throw into the Rollins vs Ambrose feud). No word on Chris Hero signing yet.

Will we ever see the UFO in the wwe?

My brother was at a house show Hero was at a couple weeks ago, and word was Claudio was signed then. Good for him. I hope Hero joins the roster as well. I guess the talk of the KOW jumping straight to the WWE were not true.

Well, this certainly has made my Friday thus far. I've been a pretty big Castagnoli fan since watching some Mid-South matches from 05. He's always had the size, but did a great job to bulk up and expand his moveset. I'm a little disappointed that I didnt get to see him live at PWG this past July for one of his final matches for them. If you've never seen any of his matches, check out YouTube. The tag matches with Hero are great.

I'm a little sad that he's not going in as Claudio Castagnoli, but Antonio Ceasaro will just be the same character, different name. I hope Chris Hero isn't far behind. Wonder what name theyll stick him with.

That ruled. I really gotta make a better effort to watch more ROH someday.

Wasn't he under contract with them at some point once a few years ago?

He was and I think there were Visa problems that ended his brief tenure with the WWE. That's the story id read for years.

I thought he had some health problems, and the Fed didn't want to take the chance on him at the time?

Anyway, nice pick up by WWE. I love Claudio. Great wrestler, great moveset. Very European. Let's see if they don't fuck him up.

I don't know if it was health concerns and the Visa thing always felt like a bit of a ruse. I always had the feeling like it may have been Claudio himself who had second thoughts about the WWE. When he signed, he wasn't that experienced. He wasn't super green, but was no where near how good in ring he is today. Plus he was a bit skinny and not as jacked years ago. He's done a great job over the last 4-5 years to put muscle on that 6'5" frame.

Antonio Cesaro's on the FCW Superstars page - http://www.fcwwrestling.info/cesaro1.html

In other developmental news Sterling James Keenan is in FCW as Corey Graves.

His belly button tattoo is rather unfortunate, but if he rocked the aviator sunglasses it would definitely be a mitigating factor in his favor. I always though SJK was a CM Punk rip-off back in the day.

HHH seems to be hiring indie workers in their early thirties who have been around a bit these days. I think it's a good sign. FCW is pretty stacked right now - enough for two full eight man seasons of NXT. There is near 20 people on the FCW roster that could fit in on the wwe midcard.

You would think that would be all WWE would need to at least end the season they're doing now. I mean, I think they're on, what, week 76 of this season and have had only three guys for at least half of that? Hell, I'm pretty sure one of the guys still has Chavo for a coach, and Chavo hasn't been employed for a while now.

The UFO is an amazing move and cc is a great talent (probably doesn't hurt that Regal likes him).

And you should definitely watch more ROH. Chances are that their Death Before dishonor show tonight was 2 to 3 times better than Night of Champions will be.

He's been out hurt for 6+ months. Wwe probably can't cut him when injured without looking like shit (Linda's running again) or possibly getting sued.

If wwe went back with the silly gimmicks, they could bring Cesaro in as Alberto Del Rio's Swiss banker. Could have a Millions Dollar Man/IRS vibe.

Eli was once on the Soup. That qualifies him to be a celebrity guest host.

Not exactly the "human suplex machine"...

Are you calling him a dildo? Or one of those home made contraptions made out of a reciprocating saw?

I'm not 100% sure but I have hazy memories of Lucky Lopez really hating the hell out of Claudio

Did Claudio rape him or something?

Maybe Claudio is The One Armed Man and Lucky Lopez is Richard Kimble. Think about it.

Antonio Cesaro's debut match in FCW. Regal on commentary loves the guy, and though Mike Dalton sells his ass of, Cesaro looks so good I can't imagine he'll be in FCW long at all.

Instead of putting guys like Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins, Steamboat on television we're getting HHH vs Nash, with the liklihood Sean Waltman will make his return. With Roaddog an agent, could he make an appearance in this cutting edge storyline?
