Career Deadpool 2012-- Open for business
A few new changes this year since there were a lot of issues with the 2011 edition, most of which I agreed with. Also, since 2011 seemed to be a
slow year, I upped the limit from 15 to 20.
Anything goes this year. If someone is fired or released, you get points. If they retire, you get points. If they die, you get points.
Etc., etc., etc. If they're gone from their company, for whatever reason, then you'll get points.
Pick 20 people who will be out of work this year. Limit it to WWE, TNA and Ring of Honor so we eliminate the fluid nature of indie wrestling.
Wrestlers, managers, divas, on screen performers, backstage personnel and referees are all fair game. Developmental wrestlers or guys absent from TV
are eligible as long as they're performers.
BUT BE FOREWARNED-- in order for points to be issued, I'm gonna need AT LEAST one of the reputable (ha) dirtsheets reporting on the
release/firing/whatever. Absence from TV or someone having their photo removed from a website is not firm proof... since news on backstage guys,
refs and developmentals could be harder to find, pick them at your own risk.
Points are dependent on how early in the year the person gets released. So 12 points for a January release, 11 for February, 10 for March and so on.
When July rolls around, the scoring locks at 6 all the way into December.
Deadline is midnight January 1st (which I realize is kinda arbitrary since we live in different time zones, so let's just say midnight Pacific
Standard Time, because that's where I'm at).
Please don't U2U me your ballots, as my U2U box tends to fill up pretty quickly.Feel free to e-mail me-- my e-mail is the same as
my name here, @gmail. Just put your subject line as "OO Deadpool 2011," or some variation so I know what it is, and I'll move it to a folder,
unopened, until the new year. And don't forget to include your OO handle within, so I know who you are.
***If you pick someone who happens to be fired between your e-mail and midnight January 1st, let me know, and feel free to pick a replacement. This is
the only way you can switch around your list though... you can't just swap people out because you happened to have second thoughts about your
choices. There's plenty of time, so make sure you're confident about your list before you send it.
***New rule this year-- If someone is gone from a company, then you'll get your points... but should they be rehired by the SAME company on or
before December 31, 2012, your points are cut in half. If Joe Blow is gone from WWE in April, but shows up in TNA in July, then that's fine...
there will be no penalty for that. I'm talking about something like what happened with Danielson in the summer of 2010. It's pretty rare
and almost certainly wouldn't even come into play, but I just thought it would be a fun little twist.

I had done a quick skim of the 2010 lists and typed this up before the two posts above this were posted, so I'm just gonna post it anyway...
Unless someone gets fired in the next couple weeks, the points listed should be final. There's been a few cases of contracts not being renewed,
releases being granted to those asking, etc. but no direct firings.
I don't think Mercury was ever released. He was working on the main shows, then had to get surgery, then went down to FCW, but I think he was
under contract the whole time.

Are we still doing just WWE and TNA even though ROH has contracts and a television deal. Could we include those guys and if they go to TNA or WWE,
those points will count?

And I'm gonna extend the deadline until the start of Raw... so 6:00 p.m. PST/9:00 p.m. EST Monday night.
I highly doubt any transactions will occur before then, so it should be fine*. Plus, a few more entries into the game won't hurt, and I
don't think I'll be anywhere near a computer tomorrow anyhow.
*On the off chance something does, consider the deadline set right then.
