NJPW on AXS

Since the matches shown are about a year old, even if the series is weekly, I figured any thread about it needed to be in the Retro section.

Mostly, I just wanted to note that, with Mauro Ranallo now scooped up by Smackdown, Jim Ross is doing the announcing on the NJPW shows. It was just good to hear him calling wrestling again. Even better, he doesn't have Vince barking in his ear or pushing stories down his throat. And by gawd, if he hasn't lost a step, enough so that it's still astounding to me that they gave the job to Michael Cole. I don't even hate Cole as much as some people do, but JR's a damn icon and beloved by the audience in ways Cole will never be. I'm sure that maybe JR isn't up for the full schedule the way he used to be and that's understandable - but that he isn't even under a Legends contract is just...dumb.

But it does make the NJPW shows really good (Josh Barnett's a pretty good color guy, too)
