Pokemon GO has put the Big N back on top (AKA "Nintendo's crushing it")

so Pokemon Go has absolutely shattered records for phone apps and has put Nintendo's market value above Sony's in one swift stroke. Moff Tarkin would be proud.

I won't download it and I don't wanna playt because I'm a handheld guy in terms of pokemon games (sun and Moon are games I might get. I'm a pretty big Poke head), but jesus, even here in Harbin, China, there are droves of people playing. It's pretty cool

Fun Fact: It hasn't even launched in Japan.

Holy shit.

I swear, Nintendo is Rasputin. They look like they are knocking at death's door, and they come up with the Wii. They are hurting badly again, and they come up with this Pokemon game. It's nuts.

Yeah I knew a new Pokemon game was out, but didn't really know what it was, I just thought it was like any other Pokemon game. Now it's all you fucking see and read about. Jesus.

Is everyone mad here?
Of course they are, and you are too... otherwise, you wouldn't have come here.

Ha, as a lifelong Nintendo fanboy, that statement is pretty funny and spot-on. Not to mention that it's pretty hilarious that Nintendo was so hesitant to release content for smart phones, and now that they've finally decided to do it, it's fucking HUGE.

And between the new Zelda, Pokemon Go, and the from-out-of-nowhere announcement of the NES Classic Edition (plus the NX reveal on the horizon), Nintendo is certainly riding a wave of momentum right now.

Went out to a local promenade with some friends a few days ago. At midnight. At least 50 people surrounded us playing Pokemon Go everywhere we went. It was nuts. And yes, we were also there to catch Pokemon.

Not gonna lie... I've got 113 of the little shits so far.

There's a lot of grief given to people by those who don't play. But I look at it as such:

People are:

1. Getting off their asses and getting exercise (and OUTSIDE to boot!)
2. they're meeting new people

Not that anyone in these forums would ridicule their fellow posters.... well, except for Royberto, but he kinda deserves it.
