'Stronger than a retarded monkey"

For August, I'm going with one of my all time favorites: Mr. USA Tony Atlas.

Al Snow describes him this way, "you have retard strong, then monkey strong, then retarded monkey strong, then there is Tony Atlas."

Here we see what Al Snow was talking about. The whole four minute clip is worth a view, as it is a precursor to what WE is now trying to do with post match interviews and jobbers.

I was a big Tony Atlas mark. I think his WWWF feud with Hulk Hogan helped establish Hogan as a serious bad ass threat. Atlas got lost into addiction in the late 80's while holding the ICW heavyweight championship. In 90-91 it was good and embarrassing to see him resurface in the WWF as Saba Simba. Good because it was a sign he had overcome his addiction, but Saba Simba...WTF?

Curious about the Hogan/ Atlas reference? Here's the start of the feud and main event payoff match.

This was the Philly Spectrum match (2 parts):

If you didn't bother watching the match you might be surprised how the feud ended...so g'head check it out.
