RIP Mr. Fuji

at the age of 82:

http://www.wwe.com/article/mr-fuji-passes-away

His passing leaves only JR and King who are still living from the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2007. RIP to one of the all time great managers.

I think it will always be his Odd-Job inspired ring attire years that will stick with me... although to be honest, at this exact moment in time I couldn't tell you one guy he managed in those mid to late eighties years, and I don't know if that's because he was the one that caught your eye, or if the talent he was assigned to was that forgettable.

Either way, he always found a way to stand out in an era where with Hogan as the centre of the universe there were a lot of great heels that you needed to outshine to stand out.

Whhaaaaaa? Demolition! Yokozuna! The Powers of Pain... Well, I don't blame you for whiffing on them. But the first two are must-knows.

But yeah, I agree, I'm young enough to where I don't have fond memories of him as a wrestler, but I sure do as a salt-throwing manager. RIP Master Fuji. If you taught us one thing, it's this-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_83MEuLoz9Y

Is everyone mad here?
Of course they are, and you are too... otherwise, you wouldn't have come here.

Yokozuna I definitely remember, but that was later towards the end of the Hogan era, and when he stopped dressing like a Bond villain.

I don't know why but I just can't picture him with anyone... like I know I can link him to Demolition, but a specific match or image of them together just won't click for some reason.

There have been many shoot interviews where wrestlers have listed Mr. Fuji as one of the best pranksters of all time. He apparently had a very dry sense of humor and loved ribbing everyone.

I remember more than one person recounting a story about him stealing the engine out of someone's car, maybe he was the inspiration for swerved.

Anyway, RIP and all that, this year can go screw

Indeed.

You know, everyone says it's not supposed to make sense, like that's the whole point, dude. And I'm just saying, you know, that's like an excuse for lazy storytelling. Just don't sell me shite and tell me it's gold, all right? I might be stoned, but I'm not high. You know what I mean?

Jim ross and jerry lawler are not the only 2 still alive from the hall of fame class of 2007. The wild Samoans are still going strong.

Damn wiki had the singles listed first, then the groups listed in a seperate section.

An incredibly effective heel manager.

I always wanted to see him get his comeuppance as Yoko's manager. That salt-in-the-eye stuff was straight evil for 6 year old me at the time
