Onslaught,
you'll help make sure we're around for years to come. Toss us as little as
a few bucks, or as much as your generosity allows. Thanks!
My brain tells me that Mayweather is going to surgically dismember McGregor and leave him a bleeding, twitching mess on the floor. My heart wants me
to believe that McGregor will knock the fuck out of that woman-beating asshole.
Either way, a lot of people are going to make a fuckton of money.

I'll believe it when it's officially announced. Not discrediting this....just given the players and what's at stake blah blah
blah.....
Assuming it does happen, I'll be rooting for the Rocky 2 double knockdown thing...

Eh, I'm a McGregor fanboy. He reminds me of a combination of The Rock and Stone Cold. I can get why his schtick would piss some people off
though. Personally, I think he's hilarious.

Remember that last superfight with Floyd? Refresher:
Seriously, why does anyone even care? The guy capable of all the violence is having his skillset incredibly limited and the guy who's good at
the sport likes money but doesn't like actually doing the sport. That and it'll be twice as much as any UFC PPV is.

Yeah, I don't think any semi-serious observer could say this is going to be anything other than a terrible fight.
But it's a spectacle. It's like Ali vs. Inoki or Rocky vs. Thunderlips. People are going to tune in to see the circus, not to witness a
classic fight.
Plus, both of these guys are great at selling a fight.

Floyd Mayweather's Punch Out would have actually cost $100 back in the day.
That shit was hilarious. GG, well-played.

Honestly I have no idea how weight cutting in boxing is handled. If Conor can do his normal weight cutting routine, and they agree to fight at like
144lbs, than Conor has a chance. Conor was routinely cutting INSANE weight at 145 in the UFC. He would make weight while nearly dead, and bulk back up
to like 167 or so. He was one of the biggest guys ever at 145.
Conor will be much younger, with a height, reach, and possible weight advantage. Will it be enough?

According to the Daily Mail, McGregor and Mayweather are very close to signing to fight each other with the date of the fight being June 10th at the
T-Mobile Arena in Vegas as the venue. It is rumored that both fighters will be getting $100 million to fight, but McGregor would have to turn over a
significant fraction of that over to the UFC due to his contract with them.

Dana White is estimating that depending on how well the fight sells, he expects McGregor to make around $75 million and Mayweather to take home north
of $100 million.
McGregor responded on Instagram saying that between endorsements and merchandise, he expects to make over $100 million.
For perspective, the biggest purse in the history of MMA was $3 million which was made by McGregor in his last fight against Nate Diaz.
White said there is no date set, and that negotiations for the fight are ongoing.

Couple things - More then likely the highest MMA payout was a bit more than 3 million. The UFC only discloses what they have to, but Randy Couture
leaked a pay out structure years back... long story short, there are a few fighters over the years that have probably hit the 4 million mark for
certain fights... GSP, Brock, Randy, Anderson Silva, Conor, and Chuck Liddell are among them... Not that hitting 4 instead of 3 is a huge
difference...
And I rescind my claim that Conor will do well if he can cut down to 144. At this point, it's been almost a year and a half since he last
weighed 145 and he looked like death to get there. The lowest he should cut is 147 and even that is insane. He will probably gas hard and fast if he
comes in under 150lbs. He's just too big.

ETA: The fight will be fought at 154 lbs which I think works to McGregor's advantage.

I really don't get the appeal of this one as a guy who doesn't watch either boxing, or UFC... it seems like the overwhelming major selling
point whenever you see this story is how much money both guys are going to get.
You have Mayweather who is very much disliked, but one of the greatest boxers ever facing a guy who is somewhat to pretty much disliked in McGregor,
but who is not a boxer, in a boxing match. Of the two, Mayweather is probably the one we'd all like to see get his ass kicked six ways from
Sunday, but he's the hands down consensus favourite... given that he's actually a boxer going into a boxing match. Yeah it seems like
McGregor can punch, but it also doesn't look like he's boxed since he was 16 per wiki (I get that he's probably kept up a lot of his
boxing given the nature of MMA... but still, I'd imagine it's for fighting in an entirely different way)
But then the money, the money....!

I have very little appeal for this fight. I want to see Mayweather get his teeth punched in, but he's just going to make this a boring fight
where he wins by decision by running around all day. No thanks.

Well, I'm a sucker for hype. It's why I'm a wrestling fan. I like the "BIG EVENT" feel. It's why even though the WWE looks,
smells, and tastes like ass, I still watch Wrestlemania every year.
I'm also a Conor McGregor fanboy for reasons expressed above. I'd like to see him win, but logically I know that is an unlikely if not
impossible scenario. It's probably going to be a boring, shitty fight with Mayweather winning.
BUT...
McGregor has got a puncher's chance. Moreover, he's bigger, stronger, and younger than Mayweather. He's got a reach advantage.
He's also not a tomato can. He's one of the best strikers in the UFC. I don't see this as a CM Punk deal where he has NO experience
in the fight game. I think McGregor has a much better chance of beating Mayweather than Punk had of beating Gall.
Lastly, it will have been over TWO years since Mayweather stepped into the ring. What kind of shape will he be in? Will his skills have diminished?
Will his motivation still be there?
I think this fight will be closer than people think.

I do not want to be a dick, Charge, but...
LOLno.
More seriously, this is something that could actually really work for boxing while still protecting the UFC/MMA stigma.
Basically, if Mayweather wins, this makes boxing look like the pure sport that it is and gives it mucho credibility by letting viewers know that hey,
boxing is really scientific and that's not something people should forget.
Surprisingly, it also helps MMA and UFC a tiny bit by giving UFC fans a scapegoat and allows them to say "well, let's see Mayweather come into
UFC and beat McGregor under those rules, because he definitely couldn't!"
Basically, it'll help all sides and everyones going to watch it. Hopefully McGregor retires a few years later because he just doesn't
need to prove anything anymore. He destroyed Aldo in 12 seconds and avenged his loss to Diaz in class fashion. The dude is a prodigy and
doesn't need to shorten his life after getting 75 million in cash.

Naw, you're not being a dick. You're being realistic. Even I admitted that McGregor's chances of winning are laughably low. I was
just pointing out how there's always a chance, and I think Conor's chance is better than people think.
I'll eat these words when Mayweather knocks him out cold in the 3rd round.
