I think I need to start to reconsider that thought that Trump won't be impeached before 2021.

What's the legal protocol after realizing that we elected a Russian intelligence asset as POTUS?
Just impeachmentfor Trump? Doesn't the rest of his campaign and therefore the rest of his administration also share culpability?
This is gonna get ugly quick.

Nope. There's a very good reason that from the moment the Flynn stuff broke it was repeated ad nauseam
that Pence was unaware, he had misled Pence, etc. If/when Trump goes down, they're doing their damndest to keep Pence clean. Then we can have
the theocracy that Republicans have dreamed of for years.
EDIT: AP now reporting that "Trump transition was told Flynn likely needed to register as foreign agent before taking top national security role."
Apparently Rep. Elijah Cummings (ranking member of House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform" sent a letter to Mike Pence way back on 11/18
raising questions concerning Flynn's company's foreign lobbying. Pence (the head of the transition team) is on record saying that this is
the first he's hearing if any of this.

The worst part about the situation is that it's taking this long. That, if nothing else, demonstrates the apathy contained in "Middle
America". I don't mean geographic-middle, I mean "the average people".
Sure, we-the-informed are upset about it. The people working two jobs to keep their kids barely housed & fed probably don't pay much attention
to it, because they're wayyyy-busy getting screwed over by the system now just as much as before. Or so it feels to them, because if
you're getting screwed hard enough you don't really care about degrees-of-screwed.  Disenfranchisement is the major party in the
current political system.
So that 2021 prediction might not be far off, unless somebody 'accidentally' (incompetence is accidental, right?) hits the nuke button and
blows up an American city. Even then, depending on the city, some people still won't care.
