Wrestling Podcasts
I know many of listen to different wrestling podcasts. Me, I've been listening to Masked Man, Jericho, and Stone Cold's for a while. I
just started listening to Something to Wrestle with Bruce Pritchard, and I am really hooked on this one.
While I don't necessarily want to add another wrestling podcast to my constantly growing list of podcasts I listen to (wrestling and otherwise),
which podcasts do you all like to listen to and why?

My favorite wrestling podcast isn't even technically a wrestling podcast, and that's The Goods from the Woods
(iTunes /
Stitcher /
Facebook / Twitter) they cast a wide net pop
culturally, tackling a different topic every week, but more often than not the discussions veer off into something pro-wrestling related. All three of
the hosts are pretty funny and enjoyable to listen to--a rarity in a lot of conversation themed podcasts since there always seems to be that ONE
person who's a bit of an asshat-- and you'll thank me for putting a little Mr. Goodnight into your life.

Wrestling wise, My weekly religious listens are:
Cheap Heat
Masked Man
Sam Roberts
Gorilla Position
The last one is a UK podcast made by a national sports radio station. They've had access to the big name WWE stars since they started,
interviewing the likes of Reigns and Steph for the first 2 eps, Renee young on a few occasions and this weeks interview is Luke Harper (they also
dropped a seperate ep interviewing Pete Rosenberg).
The host is the guy that made two ace documentaries last year: superstar wrestlers (which you can find on the BBC iPlayer) and Smashing Glass
Ceilings: The Women of WWE, which focused on Sasha and Charlotte in the build up to their HiaC match. They seem to have unparalleled access to WWE
talent and the show runs a little long at times, but is an entertaining listen.
I'm in the minority: I listened to the wrestlemania 9 episode of Pritchard and hated it. Just three hours of the host basically reading old
wrestling observer newsletters, asking "Pritchard, what say you" and then Prichard saying either yes, no, it was a different time, or giving an
answer someone who's been a heavy smart mark for years didn't already know. I just don't have three hours a week for that.
Other wrestling pods:
I occasionally listen to:
The Kick Out: two English rappers/radio DJ's talk about wrestling. It annoys me and entertains me at the same time; usually when they just
don't actually have a clue what's going on.
Austin/JR/Y2J: I listen when they review the PPV's but that's pretty much it. Or Austins unleashed shows with Ted Fowler.
I also listen to...
Sam Roberts / Jim Norton: I listened to the show live on Sirius for a couple of months, sadly work right now doesn't give me that option. So the
podcast will have to do...
Stuff you should know: because it's interesting.

Prichard's podcast is money. LOTS of good insight for WWF/E fanboys who want to hear more about what happened behind the scenes with character
development, major events, and controversies. Conrad does a good job of holding his feet to the fire on certain topics, as well.
What Happened When, with Tony Schiavone, is also not bad. The dude curses like a sailor and pretty much shits on all things WCW, while also providing
a unique perspective on certain events, due to being there (for instance, the infamous Vader/Orndorff fight happen right at his feet).
Both shows are hosted by Conrad Thompson (Flair's old co-host), and tend to be L-O-N-G form, But well worth a listen if you have time.

I can add to the Prichard one being awesome and a lot of fun..... Cornette is good too if you dont' mind him hating on everyone. But I
don't' think Prichard can be topped unless Vince McMahon himself does one on behind the scenes stuff in the WWE/WWF.

Honestly I'm not sure what I'm missing here with Prichard's podcast. It's been getting a ton of love from numerous sources;
The IWC, and practically the entire wrestling podcast community (WPC?) I've listened to about 3 episodes so far, and at their length
that's no small task, and I just don't quite get it.
It's not a bad show by any stretch of the imagination, but it's just so incredibly dry and I feel like I've heard most of the
stories plenty of times elsewhere. I'm just having a hard time figuring out why this show is being lauded as such a revelation. Perhaps I just
haven't listened to the right episodes? I've already listened to The Mega Powers, WWF & ECW's 1996-1997 Relationship and just
finished their take on Wrestlemania 13. Anybody have any recommendations that might change my mind?

The Jim Cornette Experience is a great one...I don't always agree with what he says (and if you're a fan of the current president/his
administration you may want to pass), but I could listen to him rant on shit all day.
Edge and Christian's podcast debuted today and also was a pretty fun listen.

CM Crunk, I'm with you; it's not a BAD show, but I think if you've been a hardcore fan for the past 20 years, and have read most of
the "insider" websites and magazines for a long tim, you know all this stuff already- and Pritchard snapping cans open and drinking (even if its
coke) gets on my nerves. I just don't get it.
The Jim Cornette podcast is fun; I just don't really have time for it. Now that the masked man show has its own feed, a weekly go to list of
gorilla position, cheap heat, masked man, Sam Roberts and usually an hour or two from Austin / Jericho/ JR is enough.

I listened to a few of the Prichard podcasts at the recommendation of this booard. I picked out some late 80s early 90s themed shows and overall I
thought they were a good listen and enjoyable.
I really didn't know much of the backstage stuff that was going on at the time, so that might have been why I liked more than others. And
Prichard does have a certain charisma about him but at the times the dynamic between him and the host is a little off putting where you don't
know if they are really like pissed at each other or just playing around.
Bruce does seem to have a really good memory about a lot of things (in spite of the heavy partying he says he was doing) and never really comes across
as a guy who is bitter at Vince/WWE.
(I even went and searched out the Summerslam 89 main event after listening to the Zeus episode to see if he was as bad as they were saying (he was).
Hogan and the Barber look like the Macho Man next to Zeus.)

One of the things I really like about Prichard's podcast is that he'll dispel the rumors that what we've "known" for years from
the insider websites theories and such. Also, I really like when he's telling the story from his perspective. I was just listening to the Last
Monday Nitro episode, and his perspective of the story is very fascinating. I also like it when he's able to tell stories from his perspective
as Brother Love. One of the episodes is about the 1990 Survivor Series where The Undertaker debuts. I also like Bruce's impersonations. The
very first episode of the podcast, the one about Dusty Rhodes in the WWF, was a lot of fun.
So there you go. Those three episodes are good listens, IMO. The Last Monday Nitro one in particular.
I think Conrad and Bruce do piss each other off in their podcast, but that their relationship is that they very easily let it go.

I don't listen to many former wrestler podcasts anymore. Austin is and was sensational, one of the best interviewers out there. JR's
podcast is one of the worst. Dude can't interview worth a shit and his production quality is pitiful. Sounds like he is recording it out of
his mother's basement.
MLW has some good podcasts with Court Bauer and MSL. Jim Cornette's podcast is on that network as well. He is fun to listen to, but when he
starts spouting his leftist politics, it's a real turn off. A man who loves making money telling us that socialism is a good thing. That makes
sense Jimmy!
My favorite is TalkBrunch. They cover everything wrestling, including New Japan. Also, some MMA and gaming.

Yeah JR's podcast is the worst for interviews. I tend to download it, flick through to his "what's in my mind" bit and then move along.
Jericho is ok as long as his guest is decent.
Austin can literally talk about rats and flies on PED's whilst drinking a beer with Ted Fowler and it's gold.

With regards to Prichard's podcast, I think it stands out because they DO give you some stories that you are likely not to have heard before,
and listening to them correct Meltzer's claims from WON over the years about a myriad of topics is always fascinating. Honestly, I don't
buy all of what Bruce sells, but it is interesting to compare and contract what the urban legend of events are, versus his version of the truth.
Plus, his Vince McMahon impressions always make me laugh.

I like Stone Cold and I listen to Taz live every morning. I listen to Jericho, Pritchard, Ross, and Wade Keller occasionally. I like to listen to
podcasts that talks more than wrestling. I like Stone Cold because he talks about hunting and will occasionally bust out a Stone Cold promo on random
crap that bugs him (he hates flies and drivers that don't use their signals). Taz has his high faluten CBS radio show and is always talking crap
to his staff. It's mostly about wrestling but he discusses other things and can be very funny. I like Keller's insight but he is always
pushing his VIP area which can be a little much. Pritchard drones a little bit in my opinion but it is cool to listen to old stories, especially about
the attitude area. I can't listen to Cornette because he is always complaining and I absolutely HATE Vince Russo's podcast. He acts like
he has all of the answers and everyone he thinks should be getting attention in the wrestling business are people everyone hates. He is stuck in the
past without being nostalgic. If Cornette would be more positive, his would probably be the best because he is so well spoken and funny.

I listen to "killing the town" with Lance Storm en Cyrus a lot these days. They use their own backgrounds to talk about specific shows and each week
they do an episode of of ECW.
They have a laidback sense of humor which I find entertaining. It's also not that long, mostly about an hour.

All are great! Don Tony kinda sucks, but his partner Kevin Castle is great. I quit listening to Austin, Jericho and Cabana because it is the same
every time. Cornette, if you are a Trump fan you have to take a deep breath when he talks about that, but it is entertaining.

I've tried both Schiavone and Prichard podcasts and I really like both. That said, they are REALLY fucking long. Like, three hours for any
podcast about any subject is pretty unnecessary.
