Six Degrees of Any Actor BUT Kevin Bacon

As Slade pointed out in another forum, activity on the OOForums has slowed to a sludge-like sputter. So... I wanna play a game. I can't remember this ever being done on THESE boards before and I'm too damn lazy to go check. The quote game died a painfully slow and tragic death, but I wanna try to start up the actor/movie linking game. You know, it's like the Kevin Bacon game but without all the Bacon, or the OOfficial Six Degrees game without all the sweaty men in tights (down Boerboel).

Basic rules:
- No google, IMDb, or similar, easily-accessed internet resources.
- Must complete a chain in 6 "steps" or less. A "step" is defined as a link (movie) between actors. A maximum of 7 actors is allowed per chain.
- You must know full actor/actress names. Appropriate "nicknames" are acceptable (i.e. - Joe Pantoliano = Joey Pants)
- No use of directors, composers, producers or other "crew."
- Upon completing a chain, you should give a new pair of actors
- There should be no more than 2 active challenges at one time

What is allowed:
- "Voice of" appearances
- Straight-to-DVD/Video
- A little misspelling. Don't get carried away.
- "Accepted" film titles (i.e. - "Empire Strikes Back" is acceptable instead of "Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" )
- Adding conditions to a challenge (i.e. - "no Star Wars movies" )

What is NOT allowed:
- Made-for-TV movies
- Television shows
- Movies yet to be released
- The use of Kevin Bacon
- Pulling a Paxton/Pullman switch

Aside from that... THERE ARE NO RULES! Except for the rules. That last part about "no rules" was a joke because I'd just written a long list of, you know, rules.

Anyway, here's an example:

Tom Cruise to Russell Crowe

Tom Cruise was in Risky Business with
Joe Pantoliano who was in Goonies with
Sean Astin who was in Fellowship of the Ring with
Billy Boyd who was in Master and Commander with
Russell Crowe

Cruise -> Joey Pants -> Astin -> Boyd -> Crowe

If anyone wants to play, I'll start it for you:

John Goodman to Rene Zellweger

RULES UPDATED 7/22/04

It's funny everyone goes to Jamie Lee Curtis for the Lohan connection. I was thinking about this but could not come up with a full link but had Curtis as well.

Depp to Bullock

Johnny Depp was in Pirates of the Caribbean with
Orlando Bloom who was in The Two Towers with
Viggo Mortensen who was in 28 Days with
Sandy Bullock

Depp -> Bloom -> Mortensen -> Bullock

Anthony Hopkins to John Cryer is still out there...

[Edit: Oh and CPD, The Stepford Wives isn't TECHNICALLY out yet, and the movie Lovitz was in with Cleese was called Rat Race, not Rat Trap... so your link is nullified. ]

oops, I meant Rat Race, I just had Parent Trap on the brain tryin to think of other Lohan links. But yes, it is rat race.

as far as Stepford Wives not being out yet, it is close enough, it's out like tomorrow, and has already had it's premiere.

edit- I am working on Hopkins>Cryer, but I am stuck.

OK, my partner at worked helped me with this, because by the time he helped me figure out Sandra Bullock to Johnny Depp, it was already done.

Jon Cryer to Anthony Hopkins

John Cryer in "Holy Man" with Eddie Murphy
Murphy in "Showtime" with Robert DeNiro
DeNiro in "Copland" with Ray Liotta
Liotta in "Hannibal" with Anthony Hopkins

Cryer>Murphy>DeNiro>Liotta>Hopkins

Christopher Guest to Paul Reiser

Don't touch me there!

I couldn't find a Cryer link without going through Pretty in Pink. I couldn't think of anything else he has done.

Hopkins on the other hand has done a billion things and it's hard to pick one and work with it.

good job

Edit: forgot this part: Hopkins -> Rock -> Lee -> Hackman -> Cryer

That one hurt.

Actually, it's even shorter Sheen and Neilson were both in Scary Movie 3... but your list was still shorter than mine. It took me a while to get to Fishburn.

Anyway...

Peter MacNicol was in Ghostbusters II with
Sigourney Weaver who was in Working Girl with
Melanie Griffith

MacNicol -> Weaver -> Griffith

Joe Pesci to Sara Jessica Parker

damn I would have thought McNicol to Griffith would have been harder.

anyway

Will Macy was in Mystery Men with Greg Kinnear.

Kinnear was in We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson

Gibson was in the Patriot with Heath Ledger

Macy>Kinnear>Gibson>Ledger

okay, after just seeing Bubba HoTep, how about Bruce Cambell to Elvis Presley

edit- I think I stumped myself with this one. I know alot of Elvis movies (you would if you grew up with my parents), but I can't connect them to today, so far.

Elvis was in Viva Las Vegas with
Ann Margret who was in Grumpy Old Men with
Daryll Hanna who was in Blade Runner with
Harrison Ford who was in Clear and Present Danger with
Willem DaFoe who was in Spider-Man with
Bruce Campbell

Presley -> Margret -> Hanna -> Ford -> DaFoe -> Campbell

That was a tough one. The only costar of Elvis I was sure about was Ann Margret, so I had to work with her.

Try:
Bridget Fonda to Hank Azaria

Jean Claude Van Damme was in Nowhere to Run with Patricia Arquette who was in The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis who was in 12 Monkeys with Brad Pitt who was in Troy with Eric Bana who was in The Hulk with Jenifer Connelly who was in The Rocketeer with Timothy Dalton

JCVD>Arquette>Willis>Pitt>Bana>Connelly>Dalton

Damn that was tough! I had to use the max amount of links!

Timothy Hutton to Billy Bob Thornton

Ledger to Macy....

Ledger was in Monster's Ball with Billy Bob Thornton who was in Armaggedeon with Steve Buscemi who was in the classic Fargo with William H Macy...

Ledger - Thornton - Buscemi - Macy.

Hey Blown Spot, it was Rosanna, not Patricia in the Whole 9 Yards....

Oops, I meant Rosanna anyway. I always get their names mixed up. Rosanna was also the one in Nowhere to Run so the link still holds with the replacement.
