Really? That's a pretty fucking standard slide directly to the bag. Spikes are down. If that is a a dirty slide I wonder what you consider a clean slide to be. Utley had to fucking reach for the bag with an outstretched arm.

A "standard slide" isn't high and late and with lead leg having no intent of hitting the base. A "standard slide" is trying to actually beat the throw/tag.

Look - I fully understand that "breaking up the play" is something that is part of baseball, and that current rules have nothing bad to say about the slide Donaldson did (and many many many many many others do). This isn't me taking some hypocritical high road because it happened in a game against my team (see: Odor doing a dirtier slide a week earlier).

I am saying simply that if someone is gonna get hurt on the play, fuck the guy making the slide in a big way. Fuck Utley for the slide and not getting hurt. LOL at Donaldson for making the slide and leaving the game.

Oh, it was a pretty dirty play by Utley, no doubt. But it was also a legal play. Guys do shit like that all the time, and always have... it's just getting a lot of attention NOW because it's the playoffs and it resulted in an injury.

People should be upset with the MLB rulebook. Maybe they'll change things now because of this... like when that delicate little vagina up north snapped his ankle, and now catchers can't block the plate, like they're a bunch of pussies.

It's unfortunate that Tejada was hurt... but we won, so horray!

As a Mets fan who lives in South Jersey surrounded by phuckin phillies fans I HAAAAAATTTTTTEEEEEEEE Chase Utley, but I'm actually way more pissed* that they overturned it and put him on second mutha fucka never even tried to touch the bag thats a bullshit rule. I would have been totally cool with man on 1st 2 outs tie game.

* Terry Collins is an idiot Wilmer Flores is way better than poor Ruben, and should have been playing anyway.

"The North Cafeteria, named after Admiral William North, is located in the western portion of East Hall, gateway to the western half of North Hall, which is named, not after William North, but for its position above the South Wall. It is the most contested and confusing battlefield on Greendales campus, next to the English Memorial Spanish Center, named after English Memorial, a Portuguese sailor that discovered Greendale while looking for a fountain that cured syphilis."

Welp, my team made it to the NLCS. Curtain calls were had and times of people's lives were not wasted. I'm torn between who I want to see win tonight, because if the Mets win, the Cubs already swept them this season, and I just really don't want to see them take on the Dodgers, only because they seem like the team that would give them the most problems on the NL side. Buuuut...the Dodgers winning tonight would remove a pitcher from Saturday's equation regardless of the winner. So it'll be interesting.

I'm a Cardinals guy, but they got their asses kicked in that series. All the best to the Cubs.

Kerry Fraser....no longer responsible for the worst call involving a Toronto sports team I. The playoffs. The ridiculous amount of low strikes was annoying, but somewhat consistent. Allowing a run to score AFTER calling the play dead? Unbelievable.

You guys overcame and won despite it.

Congrats on a great comeback and holding our hitters to shit during the series.

And as saddened as I am with the outcome, I can't bring myself to harbor any resentment because "fuck the Yankees" and any team that makes "fuck the Yankees" a reality is ok in my book.

Given the way that series went, I'm (pleasantly) shocked that it didn't come to blows or batters getting intentionally plunked.

Coming out of game 2, I figured game 3 would get ugly with Toronto being the initiator.

And today....shit.....for the rest of the 7th and all of the 8th I was expecting Texas to do something.

Neither did.

Dyson seemed to try and start something. Justin Verlander had a good tweet about the passion shown by both teams. And this was another spot where leagues using the NHL handshake line would be a good thing. Once a series is over...it's over. Shake hands, and move on.

And going back to the last series between Toronto and KC...the ALCS could get VERY heated.

Amidst all the bat flipping and "respect the game" and "breaking up double plays" and other acts of "sportsmanship", an actual positive story.

Typical crummy ass Dodgers. Leave like, 13 RISP stranded, while they just stand in the batters box holding their limp dicks. Fucking pathetic.

It's 2:45 CST right now and Don Mattingly hasn't been fired yet. I'm a bit surprised by that.

And he shouldn't be. He very well might (and a lot of idiot fans want him to be), but he really shouldn't be. Three straight NL West championships should show that he's a good manager over the long haul... it's not his fault that pitchers implode/don't perform up to par in a small series, nor is it his fault that the offense doesn't produce when necessary. He can only do so much with what's he's got to work with.

I was asked yesterday who I would rather the Mets play in the Series... my answer: I just want the ALCS go seven games, each game be 13-11 in 16 innings.
