Growing pains was a weird show all around--
The dad treated patients in an office in the family house. Not even a separate entrance but right off the living room.
The oldest son was a bad boy who never actually did anything wrong, and an obvious closet case. How else do you explain him refusing to get into a hot
tub at a party with at least one naked girl who is offering him free blow; in both senses of the word.
The oldest daughter was constantly berated by the older son into a giant eating disorder.
The younger son also had an eating disorder, he was always eating but never seemed to get fat, because he could never measure up to the oldest son and
the smart daughter.
The new baby disappears and is replaced by an Annie reject five years old and some homeless kid who receives more attention than the children that
were already in the house.
The mother obviously had trouble accepting the fact that she was getting older and kept going for careers that she was clearly to old for. Than failed
at miserably.
It was a messed up unfunny sitcom.

I always wanted to have my own private practice run out of my home, just like Dr. Seaver. It seemed so convenient. Don't have to pay
additional rent. No commute. Don't have to pack a lunch. You're right there if the kids need anything. Hell, you can roll out of bed
and within five minutes you're ready for work!
Then I actually became a psychologist and realized some clients are fucking nuts.

Growing Pains was just Leave It To Beaver fast-forwarded thirty years. Except with a best friend named Boner, instead of Eddie.
I always thought Joanna Kerns was kind of fuckable myself, in that "incredibly naughty MILF hiding under a happy suburban wife facade" sort of way.
But that's just me. I always had all sorts of weird and dirty thoughts that seemed to originate from meeting the housewives on my paper route.

Incidently, does anybody have any idea why that show seems to be completely unavailable on DVD? It seems retarded that I can buy pretty much the

Enough talk of shitty 80s sitcoms that are beloved for reasons I cannot fathom... [this mis-placed nostalgia is a particularly prickly peeve of mine,
since I have one brother who actually loved Belvadere and got the DVDs for Christmas this year and made us all sit through his half-dozen favorite
episodes, none of which showcased any parts of the reason why Bob Eucker owns, and another brother who tormented me with his nonstop love of Perfect
Strangers which included his VHS collection of nearly every damned episode some of which he taped over MY old 80s WWF footage]
I digress. The thread is about RAW Guest Hosts, and how they may be ending in 2 weeks, after Steve Austin.
Bzzt.
Reds Nation is abuzz over a rumor that Pete Rose (WWE Hall of Famer and long-time thorn in Kane's side) will be announced as the 3/22 Pre-WM RAW
Guest GM.
You know my stance: I think this will rule. A combination of the start of the baseball year (I actually got to see a Yankees' game on MLBNet
today, and the Reds are on TV Friday) and the best part of the wrestling year.... perfect.
Whether he actually turns out to be the last one or not, Charlie Hustle as Guest GM makes me happy....

I would have said "gnat in Kane's eyes" or "fly in Kane's soup" because I think of a thorn actually causing a small amount of pain.
But that's just me. I'm probably just missing some subtle sub-context that Rick had implied all along.

According to local news here in Cincinnati, Pete Rose has been tapped as RAW guest host for March 22. That would of course be the last Raw before
Wrestlemania.
I'm just guessing that Kane will be there in some capacity.

Blurb says Cordrey and the guy in the cast I've never heard of. So basically not anyone you'd recognize from having a successful career
anywhere else. Although maybe the only thing more bizarre than seeing John Cusack star in this film would be him on RAW.
I just want to thank RAW for assuring that there will be at least 2 segments every Monday night that I will absolutely, positively be watching Impact
without any fear of missing anything of worth on RAW.

David Hasselhoff.
Wow.
I can't really rationalize it but for some reason that feels like a low for cultural relevance.

Not sure if that lends credence to or debunks the "cultural relevance" comment.

Only other thing I've seen the other kid in was Sex Drive, which was actually pretty funny...and coincedentally starred another Raw Guest Host -
Seth Green.

I never saw it nor know it's impact...but he was a judge on America's Got Talent...some I'm sure horrible reality show, but
something I'm sure reality tv watchers would watch. Quick look at the wikipedia entry states this was actually a really popular summer show:
quote: Season 1 Ratings
When the show first aired in 2006, its ratings outpaced every other broadcast of the night and of the week. Regular TV audiences averaged 10 million
viewers a night, giving NBC an average 6.0/10 rating every Tuesday that summer, higher than that of CBS, ABC, and Fox. Total ratings exceeded, by over
one million viewers, those of Fox's hit reality show, So You Think You Can Dance.
[edit] Season 2 Ratings
In 2007, the show was the summer's most watched TV program, averaging 12.0 million viewers per night on its second season[citation needed].
[edit] Season 3 Ratings
In the third season of Talent, average viewers rose to over 12.5 million, and its rating to around a 7.9/13, Nielsen Media Research reported, again
making it the number one show for summer of 2008. The highest rated episode of the third season was the MySpace auditions with 8.1/13 and 13.61
million viewers. However, the Season 3 finale drew only 12.55 million viewers, dropping it below Criminal Minds (with 14.5 million viewers the same
night) and CSI: NY (at 14.67 million viewers).[14]
[edit] Season 4 Ratings
In the summer of 2009, ratings for Talent were Number 1 in both overall viewers and the 18-49 key demographic, making it the number one show for the
summer season of that year. The most watched episode of AGT was the finale of Season 4, with 15.5 million viewers. During its first live shows of the
fourth season, Talent had one of its highest ratings in the 18-49 key demographic to date, a 3.6/11, only topped by an audition episode earlier the
same season, where it posted a 3.7/11.[15] During the first weeks of the fall season, a results show of Talent performed well against the season
premiere of So You Think You Can Dance and the highly promoted world premiere of Glee, posting the most viewers of the night, with 9.7 million
viewers, compared to only 6.5 million viewers for Dance and 7.1 million viewers for Glee. On the two night Season 4 finale, AGT received its highest
viewing audience in all four seasons, with an average of 13.84 million viewers and an 8.5/13 rating/share over its two hour broadcast for the
performances show. In the second hour leading into the premiere of The Jay Leno Show, Talent jumped to over 14.9 million viewers and a 9.1/14
rating/share, making it the second-highest rated broadcast after The Jay Leno Show since the American Idol finale in May 2009. The season 4 finale of
AGT was the highest rated episode in the entire series of the show, where it averaged 15.5 million viewers and a 3.5/10 rating/share in the 18-49
demographic, higher than FOX's Glee, which averaged only 6.7 million viewers and a 3.1/8, and So You Think You Can Dance, which had 5.7 million
viewers and a 2.5/7. On average, Season 4 of Talent has had the highest viewership in the entire series.
Although he's now off the show...so I don't know what he might be promoting.
