Gran Turismo 5 has been owning my soul since Thanksgiving. Probably about 90-10 split of the time between that and Tetris currently. Slowly running
out of things to do, so I'm sure that ratio will quickly swing in favor of the other.
I've got $15 on PSN points just sitting out there, and I am seriously considering using some on Marvel Pinball after the rave reviews here. But
Costume Quest has now piqued my interest. Trick-or-treating RPG? Can one of you please expand further on this?
I was really looking forward to Marvel vs. Capcom 3 until the roster was almost entirely overhauled. My 3 go-to characters and backup (Mega Man,
Cable, Venom, & Ken) are nowhere to be found, and I'm not gonna drop full price on it when I'm going to have to entirely learn new
characters. Will hold off on that until it goes down in price and bide my time with MvC2 when I get the itch. Might be ready to finally grab Super
Street Fighter IV after putting it off for a year, as well.

Basically, the story is that you go out trick or treating with your sibling on Halloween. Some monsters have invaded your town to steal all the candy,
and your sibling is dressed as a big piece of candy corn and gets taken by the monsters. You obviously can't go home without your sib but you
also want candy, because it's Halloween. So you're going through your town doing quests for people and also hitting up houses for candy.
Some people give you candy, and sometimes monsters open the door and you fight them in a turn-based JRPG style. You get different costumes throughout
the game, and each costume has different powers and abilities. It's really a fun little way to kill time, and it's made by the same guy
who did Psychonauts.

They dropped Ken, Cable & Venom? What THE fuck?
ETA: Although, after looking at the roster I can see how Deadpool would serve as a viable
replacement for Cable. Akuma & Ryu are just as easy as Ken to use, but let's face it - Ken's the man. I'm hoping for Juggernaut in
DLC sometime, but I'll be anxious to try Thor out.

Yeah, I had (and still have when I play on the PSN... it's a fantastic pick up for I think under $10, now) a far different strategy with how I
played than the "experts" with their launch-and-25-hit-combo techniques. Could never quite get the launch timing right.
So I'd put Mega Man out first. Hold down H-punch to have him charge his red fireball and basically only counter-attack with Cable's
uppercut assist and Venom's venom fang assist. A bit of cheese, sure, but far less cheesy than Sentinel's & Magneto's endless
juggle/combos. So yeah, pretty much if anybody got too close, I'd hit 'em with one of those 3 moves. When Mega Man was taken out, I was
pretty good with Cable, too. But Venom is the character I really shined with.
Aaaaaaanyway, it looks like they've simplified the controls this time around (and added an even simpler "Simple Mode"), which is a nice
change. Will probably pick it up when I can find it for $30 or $40.
And another game I go back to often on the PSN is "Pixel Junk Monsters". It's a tower defense game (first one I ever really played) that seems
quite simple at first, but you'll soon be drawn into it and the strategy really ramps up. Can't recommend it enough, and also for under
$10.

Happy to have finished Bioshock this weekend, thus now completing 1, 2, and 2: Minerva's Den. Sad though that there's nothing I can
immediately go to until the new one comes out.
What a great series.
While I would have enjoyed the plot and story in 2 more had I played 1 first....I wouldn't have enjoyed 2 as much as I did.
This was pretty much a "whichever one I played first got the load splatter". With me...it was 2.

Finished HAWX2, meh... letdown. I dont think there will ever be another dog fighter online like Crimson Skies, although i heard Snoopy's flying
game is a nice alternative.
MVC3 is cool. Still trying to relearn combos from 2. And I seriously beleive the Okami dog is OP.
Fallout Vegas is all over the place. Once you actually hit Vegas the side quests explode and its overwheling and disjointed. Also, apperently you can
be the game in less than 3 hours on hardcore. Really?
Between that ill be on BlackOps and just wait for Dead Space 2. Or hopefully get some decent RB3 DLC soon.

I've been bored as hell with games lately, so basically I'm just spinning my wheels until Dragon Age II comes out in two weeks. I own
quite a few games that I've never even played (or barely played), and I can't even muster up the enthusiasm to try them out.
Even though I found the demo somewhat underwhelming, I was hoping to get Bulletstorm from Gamefly, but looking at that game's availability at
the moment, that doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Hopefully they at least send me something good.

I'm with you. That said, didn't you enjoy the final sequence and boss battle of part one more? Just the fact that there isn't even
really a "boss battle" at the end of two kinda left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Though I haven't played Minerva's Den, which I
need to do.

Well I was wrong, Gamefly shipped me Bulletstorm... and funny enough, Bioshock. I should get both by tomorrow, so I'll have stuff I want to
play for the time being.

This. FYI, the demo came out earlier this week.
I just played through it and it looks like this is going to be a fun ride again. The've made some changes that at first I was dubious of, but
they seem to be working ok. The game plays a bit more like and action game now, it's a bit faster paced. But it seems to still have some solid
RPG stuff in it. The graphics are much shinier and brighter this time around, too. The cut-scenes look especially nice. However, for some reason I
didn't quite like some of the design choices they made on the characters and environment-- they look nice, but somehow not quite Dragonagey.
Some old friends show up in the demo, too, which was fun.

Bulletstorm ended up being pretty fun. You can tell it was an Epic game... had a slight Gears feel to it, but much brighter and filled with humor.
The Skillshots added a cool dynamic, since you'll want to switch guns around and try to murder the enemies in different, unique ways. The
campaign wasn't very long... even on the hardest difficulty, it can be beaten in two or three days. There were a few frustrating parts, but it
wasn't anywhere near as hard as say, Call of Duty 4 on Veteran. The Echos and Anarchy modes are a lot of fun too, and have kept me playing
after finishing the campaign. I don't think I would have dropped $60 on the game, but if it goes on sale, it's worth picking up. And
it's definitely worth a rental.

So I'm not really finding myself as enamored with Bioshock as the rest of you seem to be. I mean, it's ok so far, and I'll admit
that I'm not really far into the game yet at all, but I dunno what it is. Something just seems off is all. But I'll keep playing and see
how I feel when I'm about halfway through.
And I agree with Tex-- the hacking is fucking stupid. Which is weird, since I always liked the game Pipe Dream and its million clones.

Where are you at in the game so far?
I personally enjoyed 2 more than 1. That may be because I played 2 first and it had the novelty component to it.
But I also think it had more action to it as well. Being able to dual-wield weapons and plasmids. The little sister protection fights when they got
the ADAM.
And it fixed a lot of things I later found myself not liking in 1. Like hacking. And not having to have three separate tonic groupings. And dual
wielding. And getting rid of the stupid napalm weapon thingie.
That being said, 1 had one of the greatest/funniest moments in gaming history...at least for me....in the initial encounters with Sander Cohen...but I
won't spoil that for you if you're not yet there.
And fuck Bordlerlands glitches. I can't tell you how many things I"ve had to re-do because some enemy didn't spawn or spawned somewhere
that's unshootable.....
I screwed up General Knoxx by taking advantage of a glitch that let me get into the Armory without the countdown...but then triggered a glitch that
doesn't let me complete Super Marcus Sweep thereby ending my playthrough and preventing me from getting the achievement for completing all the
missions (and there were only a couple left after that...)

I'm not far at all-- I just barely got the Telekinesis plasmid, and am going through the dental area. So I'll reserve any actual
criticisms until I'm much further. Except for the aforementioned hacking. And the aiming-- guns suck compared to other FPS games.

Only suggestion I"ll make is...not sure if you're just playing "shortest path to next step" or full exploration possibly accompanied by an
online guide/walkthrough.
Walkthrough's are helpful re: finding all the tape recorders which provide a lot of the story/context. You won't find them if you just
plow thorugh and you prob won't find all of them even if you're exploring on your own.
Also...don't kill Sander Cohen when you have the first opp to do so. Trust me.

Yeah, I'm using a guide for the recordings... I saw there were guides for other collectibles, but I'm not gonna bother. If I find them,
then I find them... if not, I'm not gonna worry about it. And thanks for the heads up-- I won't kill that guy when I meet him, whoever he
is.

Walkthroughs are for pussies. Most of the recordings are pretty easy to find with a little exploration.
I have no memory of Cohen though. I wonder if I just forgot it if if I killed his ass.

I only ever use a guide for collectibles, nothing else. Fuck those things anyway... and not just in Bioshock, in every game. It's even worse
in games, (like Bioshock, actually) where you have no idea how many there are because there's no in-game tracker. I picked one up... ok, so how
many do I have left? 3? 50? Who the hell knows.

That's EXACTLY why you use them in Bioshock. You have no fucking clue how many there are supposed to be so there's nothing to say "yep
got 'em all" or "where's that last one"
And with Bioshock....there's enough history/backstory in there that you want to hear it all.
If there was a counter telling me I had 16 out of 17 on that level....that's fine. But there's not. And I wanted that fucking
achievement for getting them all, too.

On the whole Walkthrough's subject, I don't use them during my first run through a game but, yes, I'll use them when I'm
collecting shit, i.e. the flags in Assassin's Creed, etc.
And Punker, if Bioshock doesn't eventually pull you in, you're just not a fan of awesome things.
EDIT - Oh, and also, I just started playing Tiger Woods '11 which prompted me to do my first EA Gameface, which is where my current avatar came
from. It is one of the coolest fucking things I've ever done in a video game, for the unitiated. You just take a picture of your face (it can
either be an existing one, one you take from the PS3 camera, or one you take from your laptop camera), load it to the EA website, and load it into the
game from there. The likeness in the video game version is absolutely insane. I am currently literally playing as myself in Tiger Woods and just
keep getting mindfucked everytime I play it.

Tex's comment about getting the collectible achievement makes me curious- who else here is a whore for achievements/trophies? I just spent
almost a week grinding through Marvel Super Hero Squad (and it's highly overpriced DLC) for the complete 1375 pt. boost to my Gamerscore, and I
just finally went 200/200 on Plants Vs. Zombies (and let me tell you that making it through 40 waves on endless survival is a fucking cunt of a task)

Count me in on this. I would currently be scouring Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (which I just beat) for every possible achievement if I
hadn't started playing Dead Space 2, which has ended up taking all of my time. Along with the aforementioned Tiger Woods.
