Kurt Angle - DWIing again

As per that reliable news site TMZ, Angle was arrested for drunk driving again:

This jackass isn't taking it seriously. I'm willing to forgive one time if that is used as a wake-up call. But Angle seems to be a chronic drunk driver. I hope he just kills himself when he finally wrecks and not anybody else.

Kurt Angle should have already hired a tour bus or some shit that Randy Orton, and the Big Show do, because he's a fucking moron. Only bad things have happened when Kurt Angle has driven a car. DUIs, getting busted with steriods, more DUIs, just stupid.

This is going to sound really awful, but there's a part of me that wishes Angle would just commit suicide and be done with it instead of dragging his family and friends and us fans through the agony of watching him spiral through a slow, painful collapse before the inevitable "dead in a hotel room" story. Or shootout with the police, at the rate he's going.

You guys are idiots. Just like Angle's twitter account has been hacked multiple times, his brain was obviously hacked into by some asshole (probably Matt Hardy) and this DWI is not his fault, despite what you might read on the gossip sites.

And because it hasn't been said here in a long time (does anyone even still remember this?):

I MISS Kurt Angle

I think Kurt is in a midlife crisis. He still talks about making the olympics for crying out loud. Having his ex-wife around now married to Jeff Jarrett probably isn't great for his state of mind either.

He probably should have went back to the wwe, where he could have worked a part time schedule or retired from the ring - maybe managed(someone like Jack Swagger would have been great), or joined the announce team as a color commentator.

Then again, maybe Kurt knows he couldn't pass the wellness tests.

With his father dying when he was young in a construction accident when Kurt was 16, and than his wrestling coach/surrogate father being murdered I don't know if Angle knows how to grow old as silly as that sounds. Probably doesn't help he's locked in the cartoon world of wrestling surrounded by Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

Isn't Kurt still on probation from his last DWI? If so, he could be doing some jail time for this one.

Despite the fact that I'm obviously a fan of his, he needs to get locked up for this. I don't care how talented he is in the ring, he could have killed someone.

He needs to get away from TNA, which recent events have shown us don't give a flying fuck about the well-being of their wrestlers' health and well-being.

All "WWE fanboy vs. TNA wanker" talk aside, I can't help but agree that the TNA locker room probably isn't the best environment for Kurt (and as CMP mentioned, seeing your ex walk around with Jeff Jarrett on a weekly basis, let alone making it into a wrestling angle, probably doesn't help). And I'm not saying that all of his problems would suddenly be cured if he went back to the WWE, but rather I think he just needs to leave wrestling for a long time, or maybe for a really long time, to get better.

I think we all judged Angle too harshly. His attorney says that he was framed, and the police are making an example out of him. I guess we know who has been hacking his twitter account

It's fun to think how a few years ago, Angle took the job at TNA, which was supposed to be a really calm, laid-back, wrestle-as-he-sees-fit atmosphere and wouldn't have to resort to the same vices he had to fall back on during the hectic schedule of being on the road with WWE. TNA was going to take great care of him, one of their top, shining stars.

Several DWI's and a stolen wife later, look where we're at now.

I never said or thought anything about your humanity.

But, I will say that Kurt has been arrested twice for driving drunk and never for killing anyone while doing so. These things aren't the same. That's why the sentence for one is a suspended DL and some fines and for the other is multiple years in jail. Guy's fucked up and has a problem.

Matt Hardy is the same way, he's hooked on drugs just like a real majority of the guys and some of the girls we watch on TV every week. Hardy in particular has been wrestling since he was a pre-teen he had his own promotion when he was in his teens and has been around the business that long with no breaks. On the road and hurt a lot.

It also should be said that the Hardys and Kurt lost a parent at a young age. I know it all comes down top personal responsibility but consider how many things we do to make our parents proud or didn't do because we thought it would hurt them. From what I understand, the Hardy's mother and Angle's father played essential roles in their upbringing until their deaths.

These wrestlers are fucked up. They are considerably more fucked up than any sport or entertainment including rock stars for fuck's sake. It isn't out of this world to indict wrestling as the cause. One can single out a John Cena or I guess a JBL, Kane or Undertaker as a shining example of how easy it is to escape personal demons but show at least a little love and sympathy for the guys that are fucked up because of it.

The numbers tell the tale. You can always talk about personal responsibility on a case-by-case basis. I can talk about that about my neighbor who is jobless and drunk. But when you start seeing things happen on a social scale, a number of individuals across a graph of sorts, well, that is far from personal responsibility. There is something broader happening.

I believe in personal responsibility. A lot. But to take the high road on that belief is to also try to help those who are struggling with it. I'll go further and say that it is fucking irresponsible to have such a firm grip on an individual's personal responsibility without having an equal amount of compassion for those who are in crisis. What good is a lack of sympathy going to do for anyone but further fuck them up, leaving wreckage. Think you are man enough to lack sympathy? Be man enough to not give a fuck enough to shut the fuck up about it and let the adults deal with the fall out.

No one is asking anyone to just forgive and forget but Christ, have the compassion and understanding required to do pass judgement on these poor bastards.

Man, I was just going to write, "I never said or thought anything about your humanity."

The universe seems neither benign nor hostile, merely indifferent.

They made the choice to get into this life. They made the choice to become alcoholics and drug addicts. They made the choice to continue this life when it's clear its not the right life. So, once again, I don't feel bad for their lives sucking and I won't feel bad if they kill themselves. They have the ways and the means to leave the life that is clearly not good for them and they choose not to. I don't want to hear about their poor upbringing, their loss of role models, or whatever because everyone has problems. Not everyone becomes a joke and a pathetic sack of human shit like Kurt Angle and the Hardys.

How many fucking DUIs is someone allowed anyway? Isn't this Angle's third or fourth? Jesus... you'd think the first one would be a hefty fine, and anything after that would result in at least suspending the license for X amount of months.

Wasn't he stalking some chick last time he was boozin' it up behind the wheel...?

You guys are too hard on Kurt, clearly he's making improvements as this time he was ONLY drinking and driving.

In all seriousness, I think the guy needs help.

Not to turn this into a TNA vs WWE thing, but I think there's a perception that TNA needs Kurt more than he needs them, so he tends to get away with a lot, or at least there's a willingness to look the other way. If Kurt was willing to ask for some help, or at least reach out to the open policy wellness offer that the WWE has I could see the WWE wanting to be more involved with getting him well again given the one time prominence of Kurt Angle. Despite there being several years since he was last employed by them, a dead Kurt Angle in a hotel room, or him mowing down a pedestrian, he's going to make a lot of waves for them so it would be in there best interest to go a little further with him than they would with a lesser name. I could see Kurt going for this as there is going to come a point where he is going to want to secure his legacy, and a WWE short term contract and a few DVD's, Merchandise, and PPV bonuses are going to be a lot more lucrative than what TNA could ever offer him... so he would need the WWE more than they'd need him, so hopefully that incentive would help keep him in check.

Seriously, let's not think WWE would save Kurt. The wrestling business is scum. WWE, TNA, whatever...if you make money for a company, they'll keep you/bring you in.
