Great topic - I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Metallica. I can do without most of their Black Album onward, but "Fuel", "Unforgiven
II", and "Don't Tread on Me" are the absolute pits.
Let's see...New Order's "True Faith". Great band, but I'm sick of that song. Led Zep's "All of My Love" and all of
Plant's solo stuff sucks. The Cure's "Friday I'm In Love" is pretty awful. I'll think of more later.

Here's some more:
REM's "Everybody Hurts". Nice melody, but so whiny. Also, everything on Monster other than "Crush With Eyeliner".
U2's "Beautiful Day".
Michael Jackson's "Man In the Mirror". Always hated it.
Motley Crue's "Without You". Easily their shittiest ballad.
AC/DC's "Hell's Bells". I'll probably get shit for this one, but it's just boring to me.
Living Colour's "Cult of Personality". Great riff, but the song has aged really badly and is extremely overplayed. It's just not
representative of their best stuff (Time's Up is one of my favorite albums of all times).

I love AC/DC with Bon Scott. I never liked them with Brian Johnson; that's where every song sounds the same. I won't ever understand how
"Money Talks" became such a big hit.

I love old Johnny Cash and some of his American Recording stuff with Rick Rubin was good but I cannot for the life of me take his cover of Hurt
seriously.
And Tex, No Excuses is great.
AC/DC is one of my favorite bands but even I agree that most of their stuff sounds the same. And some of those 80's albums are just the same
old same old. With the exception of those, it seems every album in the Johnson years has a few great songs and then the rest are just filler. But
Back In Black is just an amazing album from front to back, even their "filler" songs.

I can't look at that whole era too fondly. I liked Nirvana/AIC/Pearl Jam/Soundgarden as much as the next guy, but the groups they spawned were
all so fucking awful. How many turks formed bands with pseudo-Cobain lyrics, sludgy AIC chords, and a singer doing his worst Eddie Vedder "yeaAHH"
imitation? All of 'em, that's how many. Worse yet, at the time I lived in Florida where Creed started and got way too much airplay,
which was just so brutal. The "modern rock" station there still plays Candlebox regularly. There was a lot to rebel against in that
shithole.

I went to that show in San Diego. I had already seen Metallica twice by then and my main readon for getting those tickets was to see AIC.
This was the lineup:
Metallica
Candlebox (ugh)
Suicidal Tendencies (yeah!)
Fight (Rob Halford's kinda crappy but pretty heavy band that did the very cool "Little Crazy" song that
was Sabu's entrance theme in ECW)
My guess: They wanted another Seattle band to tour with them, but Soundgarden was busy and Nirvana was dead. Yes, Candlebox are from Seattle.
That being said, if the new AIC with William DuVall as lead singer comes to your town - GO SEE THEM. I know it's not Layne, but he's
great, they still sound like AIC, their old songs sound great with him, and their new material with him is good.
And screw you guys. I liked No Excuses.

No, they both do leads - Cantrell does more than he used to, but William still does at least half of them. It's similar to the Tripod album,
where Cantrell started doing more leads, or they both do leads in a song, and they do a lot more harmonies than before. DuVall and Cantrell sing
harmonies, it sounds very much like Layne and Cantrell harmonies.
William sings all of Layne's parts in the older songs and is placed in center of the stage. For all the new songs, he plays rhythm guitar as
well but for all the old songs, it's just him and the mic.

From what I remember, all of Candlebox's songs had that "yeah yeah yeah yeah" chorus. I wish SNL had done some sort of spoof on those
commercials selling hits collections with '90s grunge, where every song had some form of "yeah yeah YEAH" playing.
