OOfficial Discussion Thread for: RAW (May 9, 2016)
Tonight on RAW: the quick turn-around for Extreme Rules (now less than 2 weeks away) continues, with Roman Reigns (w/ the Usos) and AJ Styles
(w/ Gallows & Anderson) as a focal point, as they continue to explore the many shades of gray that exist in the world... we already know their match
at the PPV will be under the titular Extreme Rules rules, so pretty much anything goes, including outside chicanery...
Assigning "extreme" stipulations to other key match should be tonight's other main development... though WWE hasn't confirmed it, it
looks like a lock that the IC Title match will be a four-way, which generally means "first decision wins the title," and it becomes a de facto no
DQ, no count-out deal... and Chris Jericho swerved us a bit last week, teasing he was finished with WWE, but now, he's sticking around for a PPV
rematch against Dean Ambrose; we only await the revelation of what KIND of match it will be.... for me, those two issues are the ones I'm most
looking forward to exploring tonight...
We already know Charlotte vs. Nattie, for the Women's Title, is a Submissions Only Match... no stips, as yet, for the New Day defending the tag
titles against the Vaudevillains, nor for Kalisto defending the US Title against Rusev....
That probably leaves one spot open on the PPV itself, and another for a preshow match.... Ziggler vs. Corbin clearly isn't over until Corbin
gets his decisive win, but also: nobody seems to give a shit.... the wacky Love Quadrangle featuring Goldust, Truth, Fandango, and Breeze needs to
wrap up sooner than later... depending on how they play up the implosion of the League of Nations, a Sheamus vs. Alberto del Rio feud may be
necessary, too... there's also plenty of depth to do a second Women's Division match, or another tag match... and even after last
week's Culling, the roster is overflowing and getting bigger with returning and rebooted stars (including Darren Young's potentially
hilarious new pairing with Bob Backlund), so finding room for all those guys (Cena, Wyatt, Rollins, Neville, etc.) becomes a priority, too....
And of course, this marks Week Two of the Cooperation Era, where Shane and Stephanie are co-running RAW, which is a whole storyline of its own, sure
to eat up plenty of TV time...
I apologize for my brevity. But this weekend was my birthday, the Derby, and Mother's Day, all rolled into one, which sure did take the starch
out of me, if you catch my drift. I'm slowly reapproaching my full faculties, but for now: That is all. End communication....
The flOOr is yours, OO Nation. Don't wait till after 11pm to post, either. Pre-show previewing and prognosticating is certainly welcome.
So discuss, debate, and rate!

I abhor selfie sticks, and more so the people who use them, but Truth gets an extremely rare exception to those.

Nice singles moment for Large Cass (So you idiots don't confuse him with Big E ). Freaks me out how much he looks like Edge, though.

Not a surprise given their on screen history.
They should have saved Mitch for the main event. You don't want to blow your wad like that in the first segment.

What about New Days trombone?
I think Cass is forcing lines. Let the crowd spell S-A-W-F-T. They can help carry it.

Something odd is happening. WWE is in Omaha right now, which isn't really a hotbed for energetic crowds. Yet, they're putting on a show
that would be considered well above average so far, and the audience, rather than sitting on its hands, is cheering and booing appropriately and not
being dead.
It's like if WWE puts on decent-to-good shows for a period of time, crowds that are usually dead will actually be excited for the product and
react accordingly.
Which, of course, makes me worried when Cena and/or Orton are back front and center by the end of the month. I'm curious if they can continue
to do new things rather than go back to the status quo.

I'm sure it's probably already been said, but as unfortunate and scary as Enzo's injury at Payback was it looks to be a blessing in
disguise. Much like when Enzo broke his leg, it's giving Cass an opportunity to step up to the plate and show his stuff. It's given the
Vaudevillains a more serious edge, and thus more mileage then I think anyone was anticipating from them right out of the gate. And when Enzo returns
in a few weeks he's going to be even more over than he already was with the crowd.
And I finally figured out what it is about Natalya that irks me. She's great in the ring and all but whenever she's given a microphone she
always sounds like one of those annoyingly needy teen drama club kids, if that makes any sense? Vanessa Bayer does a spot-on impression of that type
from time to time on SNL but I cant think of the characters name.

I just chuckled imaging Dom lurking outaide Randall's house and inadvertantly resetting his wonky shoulder into place with a precision tire-iron
shot al Moe and Mr. Burns.

One more for the ShOOwdown: Heidenreich's Little Johnny
And is it just me, or does it feel like there's another shoe waiting to drop on the main event? Like, Big Cass vs Jericho is a pretty random
main event to begin with...it would be beyond idiotic to just have Jericho beat him straight up, and after Jericho's been beating AJ and Sami,
is Cass really the guy they want to give the Jericho rub to (granted, this assumes that what happens last week/month has any bearing on what's
happening now)?
I dunno, I just feel like there's gotta be some big angle getting ready to be run here...

Thar goes that shoe! I honestly didn't even think of Ambrose showing up. At first I started to think it was either Enzo back early, or by some
chance a fan had rushed him.
