I just watched the last two episodes of Lucha Underground, tonight. I've been way too busy to watch them these past two weeks. Both shows were great.

Stedanko, thanks for mentioning the psychedelic Alice in Wonderland rabbit promo. I've seen the two that they've done. After the first time I saw it, I thought it was a promo for an entirely different TV show. Now, I'm wondering what the hell is up with that?

Killshot didn't get a love letter. He got a letter saying that Killshot left the author for dead, presumably over in Iraq or Afghanistan, wherever he was said to have served.

And yeah, Puma vs. Matanza was wicked. I knew Matanza wouldn't lose. And like lz4005 says, no man can beat Matanza. However, even Cage lost to him, so machines can't beat him either. That leaves Sexy Star. I hope she takes him down at Ultima Lucha 3.

Speaking of Sexy Star, I think her match with Jack Evans was my favourite out of the two shows. I loved it. And, yeah, Aerostar's no look backwards plancha was crazy. I've seen him do it a bunch of times, but I think he was always in the ring. I think what made that insane was the idea that missing would have broke his back on the cement steps or the bleachers.

I also got a kick out of Famous B pinning Mascarita Sagrada with a stethoscope. That was hilarious. That was a fun tag team match.

And the triple threat between Rey, Pentagon and Chavo was also really good. Man, Chavo is an excellent rudo. I love how Pentagon was getting mad cheers until Melissa Santos said, "From San Diego, California." The place just totally turned on him for Rey. What happened after that match makes me wonder if Rey and Chavo will have a retirement match or at least some other huge gimmick match to put an end to their rivalry, which now spans decades. It would definitely be cool to see something like that.

If you watch the pre-season trailer there's a couple of clear shots of what looks like a new trios team. One guy in a top hat, another in a head to toe checkerboard zentai suit. I'm assuming it's them since everyone else has been on camera already.

Well, shit, I think I've been doing them wrong all these years! Or maybe I shouldn't have kept chasing the girls that left me for dead... Regardless.

Liked the 3-way between Fenix, Drago, and Aerostar. I thought Fenix would have won especially after Dario gave him the teaser about being #20 unlike last year, but then we get the bit about Drago leaving the serpent tribe 1000 years ago. Vinny Massaro comic relief didn't do much for me, and I really wish they wouldn't drag the show through complete goofiness so much.

Johnny Mundo finally finds his way to Dario's heart with his $100k he won in season 1, menos some random amount of 5000-something dollars, buying his Gift of the Gods match with Sexy Star. Mundo apparently has a sex tape out there. This goofiness I can tolerate. I like how Dario opens the case up again after Mundo leaves. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

Puma takes round 1 of the feud with Muertes. Great match. Loved the spear after Puma flipped off the wall over Muertes. Nice high impact after you think Puma is escaping. Wonder how Catrina motivates Mil Muertes to come back stronger. Another contact lens change?

The ending of this week's episode seemed to forecast the Mysterio vs Chavo career vs career match. Seeing Chavo Classic make a cameo was very cool. Ah, the intricate details and workings of being part of the lucha libre familia.

4 weeks to Aztec Warfare 3!

Holy shit! Aerostar vs. Fnix vs. Drago and Prince Puma vs. Mil Muertes were amazing!

I'm a total mark for pretty much everything that happens on this show. That includes Johnny Mundo paying off someone to keep a sex tape off the internet and Drago leaving Kobra Moon's tribe a thousand years ago. I'm all for the ancient Aztec mysticism.

And I'm all for Rey asking Chavo Classic for permission to end Chavo's career (or at least a loser leaves the Temple match). I'll be super into that match when it goes down.

I've never been more excited to see Lorenzo Lamas in my life. Which is to say I've never been excited to see him before this week's ep.

Vampiro's been giving me this Emperor of the Dark Side vibe for quite some time. After his interactions with Prince Puma over the last two weeks and that look he had on his face after Puma beat Mil Muertes, I'm convinced he's going to turn Puma into Darth Vader.

I'm not surprised Rey vs. Chavo in a Loser Leaves Lucha match. It's just what I wanted. I have been a fan of Chavo's for a long time. He's had a good career, but his career is over.

I think Texano will win the next match and then lose it in five. Dario Cueto and Lorenzo Lamas are going to turn Cage into an immortal, indestructible machine!

Fuck yeah it was.
I knew who the winner was going to be and I still marked out pretty hard.
Also, TMM's first defeat since his debut was handled exactly right.

Aztec Warfare was phenomenal. I marked out so hard at the end! She deserved it!

There's been one hell of an awesome string of shows so far this month. Loser Leaves Lucha was great. The false finish involving Chavo Classic was killer. Believers Backlash between Famous B and Mascarita Sagrata was one of the funnest matches I've ever seen. And Grave Consequences between Mil Muertes and Prince Puma was rad to the max!

Top all that off with Aztec Warfare 3, which in many ways puts the Royal Rumble to shame, and we've been having an incredible run of kick ass lucha!

I loved how half the spots in that match were references to other matches or wrestlers. The fogger of Arrogance was classic.

I was highly suspicious of Paul London's bunny crew.

Then they had a match and it was so magical.

Wow, now those were some insane women's matches. Those throws into the chairs were badass. Some great huricanranas, and zero fucks given. An Angelico impersonation! I don't know how they haven't been signed anywhere larger than Stardom yet. If WWE do get them, they got some great talent to waste. Lucha Underground should have signed them, they're a perfect fit with their high flying and small size. They booked them strong here, too. Especially Io Shirai.

Surprised Pentagon lost before getting to Black Lotus. I'm sure we'll get some other dark story while he recovers, but he's going to need a nurse to change him and feed him for a few weeks I think.

And Vampiro resurrects Puma, that should be interesting to see develop.

I'm not surprised Lotus didn't do anything. She's probably the least skilled wrestler in the promotion. They need to keep her out of the ring.

The two things that stood out to me were the BRUTAL titty chops Pentagon was laying into those girls and the fact that their knees and kicks weren't coming across as damaging because they weren't making any sounds with them (the old leg slap trick).

Io Shirai was amazing.

Great story through the whole episode, though. Including Vamp's stuff.

I think this is the first time the big badass anti-hero face got what he deserved by wrecking everybody in his way. Vampiro, Black Lotus and Dragon Azteca all got their revenge on him for being a dick.

Pentagon Dark isn't a face or an anti-hero.

He's a heel character that was embraced by a heel audience. Or at least an audience that cheers for pure heel behavior when it's the most entertaining thing in the room at the time.

If anything, the Black Lotus Triad were the anti-heros in those matches. Not including Black Lotus herself, because she's pretty well useless.

I just finished watching this week's show. After the first round of the gauntlet match went longer than I expected, I wasn't looking forward to the gauntlet taking the entire 45 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised that things really picked up with the next two rounds of the match.

And yeah, I had no idea who Io Shirai was before watching this. In fact, I only know her name because some of you have used it. However, while watching her perform as Hitokiri, it didn't take me long to thing that if she were in NXT/WWE, she'd instantly knock Asuka off as the biggest bad ass in town.

Isn't she already headed for NXT? I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what happens, honestly.

God damn, the 4 way match with Killshot in it was badass.

I've never heard a crowd chant "everyone! everyone! everyone!" after a match before. But it was well deserved in this case.

Yeah, that match was really good. I liked all of the Battle of the Bulls matches, although that one was the best of the bunch from the first round. I have not yet watched the finals of the Battle of the Bulls tournament yet. That match ought to be pretty bad ass, too. I'm also looking forward to watching Johnny Mundo vs. Sexy Star inside a steel cage.

What do you think...are the believers shitting on Vibrato or whatever the big snake dude with Undertaker's moveset is when they chant "luchasaurus", or are they into it?

To me it seems like the first failed LU gimick.

Also, I fucking love the Rabbit Tribe's whole deal. The double tags were hilarious.

I think they're shitting all over the Luchasaurus. I take it that he is supposed to be a snake, but he does look like a dinosaur. His mask might not be the best, but I don't think the reptile tribe with Kobra Moon as its queen is a bad idea.

And yeah, I dig the Ribbit Tribe. I don't have the names of Paul London's trios partners memorized, but the one in the shorts and the black pleather mask looks like Mr. Cisco. I thought it was hilarious when they went to Mascarida Sagrata and called him their leader.

I just finished binge watching the last three weeks of shows. There were so many good moments all around. The finals of the Battle of the Bulls, the Steel Cage Match and the final match of the Best of Five series were all fantastic. Cage and Texano really took it to another level. That match was better than all of the other ones by a country mile.

I dig Prince Puma going to the Dark Side.

And I can't help wonder who Catrina is in love with. Is it Prince Puma? Has she been in love with Fnix all this time? Is it whatever spirit now inhabits Cage via the Dr. Claw glove? Or maybe someone like Matanza Cueto?

I didn't realize that there was going to be a mid-season finale. I guess that Johnny Mundo vs. The Mack in an Iron Man match will be that episode next week. The way that The Mack was attacked by the Worldwide Underground combined with the announcement of their stipulation and the mid-season finale makes me suspect that The Mack is winning. While I like him a lot, I would prefer it if he didn't win. After that Steel Cage between Mundo and Sexy Star, I decided that the only way this story could end the right way is for Mundo to remain the champion until Ultima Lucha 3 and Sexy Star beats him in the final match of the season to get the title back.

Not sure if the believers are really shitting all over it. I do have to say the masks are going to take some getting used to. First impression is a bit comical with the masks. I can tell you that few, if anyone got Vibora's name down the entire season. The way Melissa always said it with flair made it sound like Vivula or Uvula or something else live. All aside, I do like the Kobra Moon ruling over the Serpent tribe arc a lot as well.

The midseason finale is a surprise, and disappointing in a way too. I hope next week's match isn't just an All Night Long single match between Mundo and the Mack, even though I'm looking forward to that one. If we're going to take a break, I'd prefer to see a few storylines advance or some more actions scenes.

Also, what does it mean and how long is this break? Seems like it was not the plan and if I'm to guess, it may have something to do with the rumored delay of the start of taping Season 4 until October. Originally it was supposed to be starting around now, then rumored to be pushed back until Spring, then October. That's a pretty big shift. This could just be stretch things out while they either get more funds or find a new venue, or whatever.

The whole Undertaker moveset thing is a huge mistake. On top of the children's dinosaur halloween mask. Just not a good idea at all. A reptile tribe that looks and wrestles as great as Drago would be amazing. This is not that.

It is Satan himself. Or the guy smoking the cigar in the limo who Lorenzo Lllamas reports to. Who is also Satan.

Regardless, I'd rather watch 5 hours of Melissa rrrrrrreading a spicy grrrrrrrocery list than watch Luchasaurus do a single tombstone piledriver.

lz4005, that guy from the limit - the one you call Satan - now inhabits the body of Cage. At least, that's what I think happened since Cage put on the Dr. Claw glove. It was the same glove from the limo scene.

Is it? It's been so long since I've seen the limo thing.

I just hope Cage starts talking like Dr Claw now.
