Jeff Jarrett is taking what seems to be a forced leave of absence from GFW.
Either something serious happened after Double J tweeted this morning...or else it's more backstage drama in LOLTNA land.
For all of Vince's negatives...his constant presence and/or presence of StepHHH is a huge plus over the ever changing wheel of power that GFW,
TNA, WCW, NWA etc have used.

Interesting nonsense here, with the possibility that Anthem doesn't even own GFW, JJ is having some kind of personal issues, and that no one
might even know what the hell they're doing:
https://411mania.com/wrestling/latest-jeff-jarretts-gfw-leave-absence-anthem-may-not-gfw-name/
Maybe the best thing to happen for them will be if Irma knocks down the Universal park and they have to start all over again as some sort of alligator
wrasslin' carny in the Everglades.
You know, everyone says it's not supposed to make sense, like that's the whole point, dude. And I'm just saying, you know,
that's like an excuse for lazy storytelling. Just don't sell me shite and tell me it's gold, all right? I might be stoned, but

quote: Justin Barrasso of Sports Ilustrated is reporting that Global Force Wrestling, under Anthem Media's ownership, has been "hemorrhaging
funds" and that "sources close to the situation have confirmed that Anthem is ready to withdraw itself from the wrestling industry and sell
GFW."
It was obvious based on the last set of TV tapings that there had been cutbacks with a number of talents not brought in and others only used for
certain tapings before being flown home, as opposed to remaining for the entire run of tapings.
Since purchasing what at the time was known as TNA Impact Wrestling, Anthem has had to catch the company up and get it out of several legal
predicaments including the Billy Corgan situation and a lawsuit brought against the company by its former production company, Virginia's
Audience of One Productions. The ownership came with Impact Wrestling deeply, deeply in the red. Although there have been several new TV deals made,
there have been relatively few new revenue streams brought into the company and partnerships forged with different international companies, including
AAA, Crash Lucha Libre and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Since Anthem purchased the company, controversy continued to follow, including the "Broken Hardys" situation, the suspension of then-reigning GFW
champion Alberto el Patron and now, the departure of Jeff Jarrett, who is taking an "indefinite leave of absence" as Chief Creative Officer
following a meeting yesterday in Nashville, TN with Ed Nordholm.
Prior to Anthem taking ownership of Impact from Dixie Carter and Impact Ventures LLC, World Wrestling Entertainment, ROH parent company Sinclair
Broadcast Group and Billy Corgan (who went on to purchase the National Wrestling Alliance instead) all looked into potentially acquiring the brand -
and in the case of Corgan began that process before ending up suing the very company he was, at the time, President of.
PWInsider.com can confirm that there were multiple meetings yesterday afternoon and early evening regarding plans for the company going forward We can
also confirm that calls were being made yesterday to members of the roster to assure them that everything was fine following the Jarrett
announcement.
Anthem Media is also the parent company of the Fight Network, which airs pro wrestling programming regularly. It has begun putting much of the
TNA/Impact/GFW library to use on the network since acquiring ownership.

So if anthem are looking to get out of the wrestling game, surely the best thing to do is to sell up to WWE for a dollar or two. WWE then immediately
gets 10 years worth of footage of Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Eric Young (plus a few years worth of drew Galloway and Kurt Angle).
They'd also "get" Anthems claim to Broken Matt Hardy, which I assume they'd just give up on and let Matt have it/ come to a deal going
forward.
GFW could stay on pop if they can be bothered. Maybe.
Apparently Jarrett was drunk and very out of shape at the Mexico shows, and was throwing food at the crowd during whatever match he was involved in.
Pretty much everything he's touched this year so far has fallen to shit (he managed to wangle his way in to the dealings for a U.K. National
show over here called World Of Sport, then they got shitcanned).

Wasn't the food throwing part of his heel act? It was tortillas so I thought it was lazy evil american character he was working.
Anyway, GFW/TNA has survived so much that I think the only thing that will happen if Anthem dumps them is getting bought out by Billy Corgan and the
wild ride continues.

Billy Corgan buying the Impact brand and merging it with NWA would be somewhat poetic and full circle, for both him, and the product.
NWA Impact on POP TV probably doesn't do much of anything for anyone, however. Even under a new ownership group/person.
At this point, I think the best option (as a fan), is to sell to the WWE, put the library on The Network, and maybe, if they are feeling bold, let
Matt Hardy be weird again.

Depends on how much GFW is worth. If one settles to just be cheap programming for Pop tv, cut costs like big money contracts and staying in the Impact
Zone there might be a profit there. At least to keep running.
I think WWE will buy that tape library until TNA is completly bankrupt with the only option being dying or dying with WWE acquiring them just like
ECW.

They dropped a disinformation announcement today detailing all the neat things they "plan" to do with streaming, their own network, and an extension
on POP TV.
https://411mania.com/wrestling/gfw-announces-global-wrestling-network-extension-pop-tvimpact-deal/
Seems fairly schizophrenic what's happening there these days. Odds are, just like a cockroach, they'll still be around a year from now in
one form or another, given their insane ability to stretch things out with a budget smaller than that won by the average weekly lottery ticket holder.

Wouldn't be surprised if Dan Lambert from Americas Top Team buys them out since he has been a big part of their storylines lately. They have
been on the last 3-4 shows I believe.
Yes, I know, how sad is my life that I watch it and even more so, remember what happened.

Corgan wants back in on this dumpster fire?!!!
Thats akin to being one of the people that was on a lifeboat off of the Titanic and then decides to turn around, row back to the ship and go down with
it.

Good chance for Billy to take charge and seek revenge, especially if the price is low enough. If he gets the archive he has it made.
