I was just coming to post about this because it's totally insane and awesome on every level. I presumed the Twitter sniping between the two
would lead to something on Jericho's wrestling cruise, not...this.
Not sure if Jericho's just a free agent at the moment or if he got the okay from the WWE office for this, but holy shit, that's gonna be
tremendous. Wrestlekingdom, as usual, is going to be insanely loaded.

I can't see why Vince would Okay this.... this seems pretty harmful to the WWE...this is going to get eyeballs...and if they put on a amazing
show at Wrestle kingdom this could really help NJPW I suspect. This is a extremely hot match that I don't think WWE could provide us a equal as
intriguing.

I don't think Vince would have had to okay this, Jericho is probably not under contract.
This match should be perfectly fine. It's kind of amazing how Jericho has kept himself as a huge star for this long. People are still excited
for what he does, even though his in ring work has diminished with his age.
Still, this is a pretty big deal that a notable WWE wrestler is going to Japan, even for one show.
So much for Jericho never wrestling from anywhere that isn't WWE again

Eh, it's a big deal but I don't think Vince is going to feel that threatened by letting a part time vet (who will inevitably wrestle for
him again) do a one time deal in Japan. I'm not sure Vince is much threatened by anything or anyone in wrestling anymore, to be honest.
The WK card so far, far as I can tell, looks pretty great:
Naito vs. Okada - IWGP title
Tanahashi vs. Jay White (or Switchblade, as he seems to be calling himself) - Intercontinental Title
Omega vs. Jericho - Not clear on if the US title is at stake, probably not
Ospreay vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu vs. Scurll - Junior Heavyweight title
Roppongi 3K vs. Young Bucks - Junior Tag Belts
Cody Rhodes vs. Kota Ibushi - ROH title
(Maybe) Goto vs. Suzuki for the NEVER title
Plus a few more matches on top of that

Booker T said that Vince personally ok'd his move to TNA because Vince blatantly told him they had nothing for him.
It's probably the same thing here. Vince and/or HHH are probably fine with Jericho playing somewhere else if they have no use for him. Now if
they called him up, wanting him to be Shane's partner against KO and Sami Zayn but Jericho turns them down for NJPW then there'd be an
issue.

Yeah... I'm not even "huge" into the NJPW, gaining what exposure to them I have gained via ROH-synergy, and
I'm all like "Gotta see Naito, gotta see Jay White (Switchblade is cheezy, but still somehow slightly better), gotta see Osprey and MARTY~!",
and I'm curious about R3K. Oh yeah, and OMEGAJERICHO.

What if Jericho has been sent to bring Omega to WWE?
Former writer Andrew Goldstein on twitter had a theory about how there's a good three and a bit weeks between WK12 and Royal Rumble.
#AlphaVsOmega at WK12
Y2J eliminated by the cleaner at the Royal Rumble
Jericho vs Omega 2 at Mania
Omega can then go on to face AJ, Nakamura, Balor and others.
He's still young enough that if he signed a 2 year deal and it didn't go well, he goes back to NJPW with years left in the tank... but if
it goes well, he could have a great 6+ years at the top.
Whilst he has had an amazing year and put on plenty of 6* matches; it would appear to a me, casual fan that he won't be IWGP Heavyweight
champion. Being US Champion is great and all, but if their US expansion goes as quickly as WWE's UK one does, its kind of a meaningless title to
have.
I could see him being up for the challenge of being able to put on a 6* match with the constraints WWE
Give him; just to show that he can. A world title picture of Him, AJ and Nakamura could make 2018 a banner year for smackdown.

This is beautiful smark gibberish. I don't believe it will happen for a second, but I love it to bits and I want to marry it.

Just saw on Instagram (of all places) that Jericho apparently ambushed Omega and beat the shit out of him, complete with busting him open with the
belt! So, uh, yeah, that's a pretty awesome kick-off.

Sorry, had to. Looks like it'll be on AXS two days later, and Jericho said on his podcast they're looking for different ways to view it
live.

AXS will be an edited version, possibly just a 3 hour versions. The top 3 matches(Okada vs Nito, Tanhashi vs White, and Omega vs Jericho) will likely
remain untouched but you never know.

Agree about Vince not feeling threatened by anyone, mostly because I've been watching wrestling for decades, and am pretty involved in this
board and I have no idea who most of these guys are beyond a vague I've heard them mentioned at some point or another on here...
Not a knock on any of them (I've heard of Omega, and it sounds like he might be the best thing going in wrestling ring-wise at the moment)...
just that there are millions of WWE fans who are also wrestling fans, but a lot fewer wrestling fans who aren't also WWE fans; as long as that
continues to be the case no one is taking money out of Vince's pocket.

Here's the video of Jericho's attack on Omega:
That Chris Jericho "Alpha Club" t-shirt is pretty cool.
I wish Jericho's Rock 'n Wrestling Rager were to take place between now and Tokyo Dome so that Omega could retaliate on the cruise ship. I
imagine it would go something like this:
"For the love of God, Omega just tackled Jericho into the swimming pool! As god is my witness, he's been waterlogged!"
"How did Kenny Omega get on this vessel without anyone noticing?"
"Now, all of the kids playing water polo are fleeing for their lives as these two grown men try to strangle each other!"
"But can you truly drown an Alpha or an Omega?"
"Never mind that! Why doesn't anyone think of the children!"
Anyhow, the point is that Alpha vs. Omega - Y2J vs. Kenny - is going to be awesome!

Add Killer Elite Squad vs. EVIL & Sanada for the big tag belts.
Plus probably some schmozz for the trios belts and the pre-show Rumble. EVIL/Sanada/Bushi hold the belts but seem likely to drop them to a Bullet Club
trio between now and then (scheduled defense is against the Guerrillas Of Destiny and the scourge of Japanese ring announcers,, Bad Luck Fale).

Figured I'd bump this.
I have not seen the show, but the "buzz" is saying it was a pretty good to great show overall, and that the Omega/Jericho match, while not a 5 star
classic, was still tremendous.

That was quite possibly the best PPV I've ever seen. I didn't agree with the booking of the last match, but aside from that, there was
excellent wrestling from start to finish.
