Marino' s luster came off a bit when Favre, Brees, and Manning started breaking his records.
Marino did it at a time when it was a running league though and the rules hadn't made it so easy for passers. People need to do a better job
considering the time when comparing between generations.
Indeed. That big-headed goof really did know how to stand in the pocket and just fire lasers all over the field at a time where the only thing a
defensive player couldn't do was stab the QB during the play. Had he better mobility then he's definitely up there with Elway. CBBC is
dead on and I'll add to it that what he did was of it's time and context for how the game was played and what the rules were then. Warren
Moon and Dan Marino were in a different galaxy when it came to passing, but Montana, Young, and Elway, shit even Phil Simms basically left them in the
dust with the Super Bowls they won.
I know violence in the NFL is A Thing now with all the concussion protocols, but my relative indifference to high powered offenses now or ZOMG!
STATS!!!1! is because I get so frustrated with notoriously whiny tampon inserters like the California Kid playing in the SB this weekend having a
tantrum and drawing a flag if a DB so much as looks at him funny when a generation ago Mike Singletary or Ronnie Lott or LT would have been picking
pieces of him out of their stool while the refs shrugged and moved on to the next play.

Atlanta winning the Super Bowl would be a perfect end to the most boring and useless NFL season I can ever remember. 95% of the prime time games
sucked, the playoffs have been brutal, and there have been very few notable individual performances to the point that there are no standouts for MVP.
The NFL is getting worse and worse to watch and follow, and I fully expect this Super Bowl to continue that trend.
That's racism man! I love to racism bro!

There's still 23 minutes left in tonight's "game," but I'm just going to get this out of the way now:
merc, your Pats looked great tonight. That pick-six by Brady and the whopping three points they've been able to put up against the Falcons thus
far have been particularly impressive. Wear that "Tom Brady Fuck You 2016 Tour" shirt with pride tomorrow!
Also, should we be more impressed by Brady going to seven Super Bowls or not so impressed that he's 4-3 in said Super Bowls (and let's
face it, should be 3-4 if Seattle had decided to hand the ball off to Marshawn Lynch)?

Hmmm...yes. Yes, I suppose it does.
Now pardon me, I'm going to go bemoan the fact that Panthers are now the only team in the NFC South without a fucking Super Bowl ring. Now I
know what it must feel like to be an Eagles fan.
EDIT: HOLY SHIT. I'm not even mad (in fact, I'm kinda thrilled the Falcons lost). That was insane. The Edelman catch was insane. The
comeback was insane. merc, you have permission to talk shit to me for the rest of my life. Unbelievable.
Also:
Everything happened exactly as I foresaw.

...then it turned into this...
...and then I remembered who we were dealing with...
Congrats, merc-y. Con-fucking-grats.

Watching my Panthers lose in the Super Bowl last year sucked big time, so I can only imagine what it must feel like to be a Falcons fan right now.

That was insane. The Falcons totally Falconed.
I was hoping for it to be a good game. It... was like 2 entirely different games, with a Gaga in the middle. I don't know if that makes "a
good game", or if it was just "the craziest shit possible happened", but at the end of it all, I find myself generally-entertained.
Way better than the Rumble.

Watching Atlanta lose...awesome.
Watching Atlanta lose like THAT...10000x more awesome.
Fuck the Falcons. New England, thank you for your service. It was greatly appreciated. Now fuck you too.

Entirely fitting. It is, after all, an age of monsters.
This seems kinda unfair though.

You know, everyone says it's not supposed to make sense, like that's the whole point, dude. And I'm just saying, you know,
that's like an excuse for lazy storytelling. Just don't sell me shite and tell me it's gold, all right? I might be stoned, but
I'm not high. You know what I mean?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAH.
Thank you, you glorious cheating bastards. For turning a shockingly boring blowout into a heck of a last 30min to the 6hrs that is Super Bowl Sunday.
I forgive you your cheating, and I forgive you your hilariously ignorant dipshit fans.
I don't know if you cheated tonight. You probably did for the entire game, for all I know. But it doesn't matter.
That you, Patriots, for an amazingly good belly laugh.
I needed it.

Couple of takeaways from the big game:
Maybe the Pats fans will stop complaining about the Tyree catch (still a better play than last night)
That was the most dramatic Super Bowl I have ever seen where I did not have a personal rooting interest
Tom Brady is the greatest QB of all time, but if you want to argue, fine but he is the greatest QB in SB history
I think we should throw some credit to the Pats for making defensive adjustments during the Gaga concert, all I have been hearing is that Shanahan
blew the second half
ETA: not the game related:
I enjoyed seeing Mr. and Mrs. 41 out to flip the coin instead of the HOF incoming class.
Commercials, I thought were mostly meh, I liked the Skittles and Buick commercials, but for the most part I didn't think they were great.
Couple of omissions that I noticed (or missed) Doritos and the Clydesdales

You can, but I'll just say two things: one, as soon as I made that post, I knew I was heavily tempting fate (and, well, look what happened).
Two, since I predicted the entire playoffs and Super Bowl winner 100% correctly, I should be exempt from any type of Nostra-Dumbass award.

hHhmm.... I guess your prognostication prowess earns partial props.. I dunno about TOTAL exemption, but.. Okay, you get a pass this time.
I dunno if merc's going to be as forgiving, though. He's cranky sometimes.
