I'm hoping to make it to a PWG show this summer when I make my trip out to Cal. If the dates work, and anyone's interested, we should hit
one up.

So a lot of us were expecting the next PWG show to be March 15th. That is not going to be the case as they've decided to just do a double shot
in April for their 99th and 100th show. Here's the press release:
quote:While it would be easy to recount the successes of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) over the last five and a half
years, and how we've managed to exceed even our own expectations, it would be even easier not to. If you've been with us for even part of
that time, you will know that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has had to overcome obstacles both great and small to make it this far. And if you've just
recently discovered Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, well, you've got a lot of catching up to do, but April 11 & 12, 2009 will be excellent starting
points.
On Saturday, April 11, 2009 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla presents Ninety-Nine, the ninety-ninth Pro Wrestling Guerrilla event ever held. To help
commemorate this nearly round number, we have enlisted the services of some Pro Wrestling Guerrilla favorites, past, present and future, including:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), the Motor
City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley), Austin Aries, B-Boy, Sonjay Dutt, El Generico, "The Professional" Scott Lost, Kenny Omega, Davey
Richards, Joey Ryan, and Roderick Strong. And that's not all, more participants will be announced in the coming days!
On Sunday, April 12, 2009 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla will mark its one hundredth show milestone with One Hundred. Much like Ninety-Nine, this event will
feature a mixture of long-time Pro Wrestling Guerrilla veterans and some fresh faces as well. Already scheduled to appear are: Pro Wrestling
Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Paul London, "Classic"
Colt Cabana, Austin Aries, B-Boy, Sonjay Dutt, El Generico, "The Professional" Scott Lost, Kenny Omega, Davey Richards, Joey Ryan, and Roderick
Strong. As with Ninety-Nine, more participants will be announced very soon!
You can find all of the latest information on Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Ninety-Nine and One Hundred at the event mini-site,
http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/99_100/. Starting Monday, March 9 at 12:00PM PST, you will be able to pre-order your tickets for both days
online. If you were with us at Express Written Consent, you know that we came perilously close to turning fans away at the door, so don't get
left out in the cold, order your tickets as soon as you can!
On a side note, at Express Written Consent we learned the hard way about the new security procedures implemented by American Legion Post #308. Please
know we will be taking steps to accommodate these new procedures, and we will do everything in our power to avoid the lengthy delay that marred an
otherwise fantastic evening at Express Written Consent.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Ninety-Nine takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 8:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. Pro
Wrestling Guerrilla's One Hundred takes place on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 5:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion
Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Front Row tickets are $30 per night, or $50 for a two-night pass. General Admission tickets
are $25 per night, or $40 for a two-night pass. Tickets go on sale on Monday, March 9 at 12:00PM PST. For more information, visit
http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/99_100/. Video recording devices are not permitted. Card subject to change.
I really wonder who else they have in store for us. What other blast from the past could they be bringing in? It sucks shite balls that it's
still in Reseda but hey we get the MCMG back for one night and it's a milestone. I can't complain too much. I guess no more recording
devices are going to be allowed after people were uploading footage of Paul London's debut. It's nice to see Shelley and Sabin return
home for one night. I have to admit I was jealous of those ROH bastards that got those MCMG matches.

I know that a few places I visit that as soon as they saw MCMG announced, they started pimping Guns vs Bucks, and maybe it's just cause I
haven't seen a lot of the Bucks, but I think they can hold off on that. I really REALLY REALLY want to see the Guns vs London/Aries.

I like the idea of London and Aries teaming up. But it probably wouldn't happen since they're pushing Aries as a heel. Although it could
make for an interesting team up. I was also digging the idea of the Dynasty facing MCMG or maybe even KOW. Did MCMG ever face KOW in ROH?

PWG 99, Reseda, CA 4/11/09
Scorpio Sky & Los Luchas vs. Scott Lost & The Cutler Brothers
This match was a really good opener. It was hot, it didn't go too long, it didn't go too big but there were dives, just a solid match
that got everyone fired up for the pro graps. Beyond that, I came out of this match a lot more impressed with Scorpio Sky & Scott Lost than I was
last time. Scorpio is a guy who is very smooth in nearly everything he does, precise in his flying and (more importantly, if you ask me) his landing.
This is a card where more than one guy flubbed a rollup, tumbling to the ground in a half-assed pin. Scorpio Sky was having none of that shit. He
knows exactly what he's doing. I appreciate professionalism. My associate is a big fan of Scott Lost but nothing stuck with me from the last
show, so he couldn't have been too impressive, right? WRONG. Stop fucking assuming things about Scott Lost, you're making a fool of
yourself. Scott Lost is a man who gets things. I watched him walk out to the ring and was taken aback by the look in his eyes. This isn't a
guy coming out for the opener, or a guy looking around the building, it's a guy coming out for a fight, a fight that matters to him. He stayed
like that the whole match, focusing on his opponents or the referee. I watched him, waiting for him to slip up, start doing that thing where he
starts tracking position in the ring and thinking about where the next dive is going, but he never did. He's really good at the details,
leaning back for leverage when he hooks the leg, or pulling the arm in before he pins someone. OH ALSO HE MURDERS FOOLS. He broke up a pin by
stomping on the back of someone's head, his suplexes hang in the air before he slams people around, and he obliterated one of Los Luchas with a
DDT. Lost wins with a simple kick to the face.
Just realized I didn't talk about anyone else who was in the match. There is nothing interesting about Los Luchas at all and the Cutler
brothers are less impressive. When the Cutlers first came out I thought they were going to wrestle like early Briscoes. I thought this because they
are ugly and have stripes on their tights. Anyway they're just boring indie wrestlers. They have a spot where the choke a man with a
resistance band and do chest flies which would be a fun spot but everyone fucked it up. The ref turned around too soon and had to be like "oh whoops
let me just turn back to what I was looking at a second ago." The ref also just fucking gave up on who the legal man was which always bugs me. I
can forgive wrestlers for trying to get spots in but goddamn, do your job ref.
Chuck Taylor vs. American Dragon Bryan Danielson
American Dragon in a comedy match! What fun! They start out trading arm locks and stuff and Dragon would no-sell everything Chuck did, but when he
reversed it Chuck would scream. It was fun and when I screamed "PUNCH HIM IN THE EAR" and motioned like punching someone in the ear, Dragon took
him down and punched him in the ear. Later he looked like he was going to turn him for a half-crab or shoot him for a snake eyes, but we talked him
into a giant swing. Oh, the fun to be had in a small building. Eventually the match breaks down into something a bit more serious, and I remember
Dragon wasting him with European uppercuts and such. Chuck gets him in a half-crab at two points and my associate mentions that Dragon tapped to that
very half of a crab at Chikara's King of Trios. Dragon wins with the Cattle Mutilation/Elbows/Cattle Mutilation.
Joey Ryan vs. B-Boy
Enough of that positive shit! Let's talk about A BAD MATCH. I take back the half-hearted compliments I payed B-Boy. If every criticism about
Homicide were true, B-Boy is what you get. He threw one forearm and it looked great because he slapped his chest so it makes that awesome sound. He
immediately followed it up with one where he didn't slap his chest and so it made no sound. Poor form. If I can digress for a moment, I
apologize for pointing it out that he slaps his chest. I always think of that as like, the last secret in pro graps. There are plenty of people who
don't realize that's going on, even in smark audiences there are tons of people who just think that Taijiri kicks really hard. And
because of this, there's always one fucking yahoo who sees fit to call the slap, offer up some sort of "the slap was a little late" or the
classic "way to slap your leg!" I hate these people and given the chance I would murder them. I am not kidding.
BACK TO THE BAD MATCH. Joey Ryan's innate charm only goes so far and he wasn't doing anything to save this match either. B-Boy kept
wasting Ryan with things that looked really dangerous and painful and not in the fun-for-the-crowd sort of way. Or maybe it was, maybe B-Boy fans get
off on him landing on people's necks. The match was plodding and poorly paced early, then they instantly transitioned into some sort of epic
match where they were doing suplexes off the top rope, and B-Boy threw out A PILEDRIVER ON THE APRON! THAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING!
Ryan rolled to the floor and everyone got quiet while the ref checked on him, the ring announcer ran to the back, etc. I wasn't buying it, and
I spent the whole time loudly proclaiming that he was ok or going "oh god! indie wrestling would never work us on something like this! he's
down, oh god!" They picked Ryan up and I'm all "That's not how you move an injured man, guys, guys his neck is broken don't move
him" but it turns out he was FAKING IT and he runs in and rolls up B-Boy, who was facing the commentary booth instead of the man he just crippled.
This was neither the end of a big angle or the start of one. I guess they wanted to put Joey Ryan over as a scoundrel for new fans? Who knows.
Davey Richards vs. Kenny Omega
Davey Richards is a guy who has gotten WAY more than his fair share of shit online. He is a perfectly serviceable wrestler who is angry, all of the
time. This is a thing to be valued in a professional wrestler. He came out and some guy is standing up putting up his hand for the slap, and Davey
just stopped and stared at him. THE GUY SAT DOWN then looked around like "woah." Davey Richards, ladies and gentlemen. Kenny Omega came out and
the first part of the match was centered around the fact that last time these two wrestled Omega hit the ropes and they broke and Omega took a really
bad fall. So this time he's afraid to hit the ropes. He pulls up short, rolls out, begs off, etc. "It's a matter of safety!" he
insists. Davey slams himself into the ropes, demonstrating that they're ok. "This is life or death!" Omega insists. He stands on the
outside and asks Davey to run into the ropes, one by one, until Davey runs into the one in front of him and he trips him up. Then they have a match.
What I liked about that match is that Omega is a guy who's not exactly a comedy wrestler, but he's very goofy. Richards is a guy who does
not even know what the word goofy means, he's just mean and angry all of the time. The man is unstable. That is not a comment on his gimmick.
If pro wrestling puts out a yearbook, Davey Richards gets my "Most Likely To Murder a Guy For Making a Pass At Him" vote. He was wearing his Benoit
vest again, because he invites comparisons to a man who murdered his wife and child.
The match was centered around the idea that Kenny Omega is an athlete and Davey Richards is a son of a bitch. Omega would jump and run and all of that
sort of thing, and Davey Richards would just kick him. In the face, in the back, in the hand, wherever he wanted. Davey Richards' kicks
don't take no for an answer. Someone gave Davey Richards a kitten for his birthday when he was 10 and later when they called to ask how he
liked it he complained that it didn't have much meat on it but was still gamey. Davey Richards is a bad man, I cannot stress that enough.
Omega did his chainsaw arm spot and later Richards mocked it then kicked Omega as hard as he could. Omega also has a spot where he stands behind a
man, jumps into the air and legdrops the back of their head. Think about that spot. Isn't that crazy? If you said no you are wrong, sorry to
say. Omega won with an electric chair drop into a bridging german. Like he's got him on the shoulders, tosses him higher, catches him and
slams him down. The man's a stud.
Sonjay Dutt vs. Rod Strong
Hey want to see a match you've seen like, 10,000 times? Can't get enough generic indie junior heavyweight wrestling ? Do you like
counting to 2 and then loudly exclaiming "NO!" Well then I have a match for you! Fuck you, Rod Strong.
El Generico vs. Tyler Black
"Buckle in!" my associate says. "We're going 18 minutes if we're going a second." He was right. I wonder aloud if Tyler Black is
mad about Jerry Lynn being ROH champ, because if Gabe were still booking it'd be Black. I consider asking him this later in the night but
decide to save all of my obnoxious points for asking Paul London if he's ever met Batista. (Gonna try this tonight! Wish me luck!) What did
they even do in this match? I don't remember. They walloped each other, rest assured. My reference point for stuff is still very much ROH and
this was the closest thing to a big ROH match on the card. There were 2 kids in the corner who FUCKING HATED El Generico and they were booing him and
man, kids having fun at the matches is the best thing. The crowd, since it is full of maladjusted 20 somethings, sometimes does not approve of
children enjoying themselves but aside from one or two miscreants people were into it. They did pay a lot of attention to the kids, getting into
dueling chants, etc. At one point Black & Generico were like "they are not paying attention to us. Let's go up on the top rope!" So they did
and when they came back down they did not land softly. Most of this match was Generico getting beat on but fighting back, and eventually he pulls it
out with some manner of brainbuster, but not the crazy one in the corner turnbuckle. Decent match, really good crowd that was super, super hot at the
end.
Austin Aries vs. Chris Hero - PWG World Championship Match
I know last time I said I loved Austin Aries' new gimmick, and I am going to keep beating that drum because it is AWESOME. Austin Aries is more
man than anyone can handle. He wants to fuck your wife, he wants to fuck your sister and whether you like it or not he wants to fuck you. The crowd,
naturally, does not approve of this and calls him a faggot and all of these creative types of insults. At one point I yell "YOU PEOPLE
WOULDN'T KNOW A FAGGOT IF HE FUCKED YOU IN THE ASS" and people Boooooo. The crowd also goes "SSSSSSSSST" making fun of Austin Aries'
tendency to wrestle like he's got a slow leak, and I'm mad we didn't do that back in ROH. Aries and Hero fight and it's a
decent enough match. Aries is repeatedly distracted by Candice Larae, Hero's second. He chases her around and my associate is made
uncomfortable by the implications of sexual assault. There is a fine line to walk with this new gimmick of yours, Austin Aries. Hero wins when Aries
is distracted trying to beat up a woman. Hero calls him out on this in a post-match promo and Austin Aries says his dick is over 1 foot long.
Joey Ryan came out to Paul London's old WWE music, in Paul London's old WWE gear. He made fun of Paul London. Paul London came out and
talked about how he was going to kick his butt.
Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Young Bucks - PWG Tag Team Championship
I'll shoot straight with you here folks, I was pretty well lit up by the time this match came around. I took my customary leave to the back of
the room to try to watch the match and the crowd at the same time. Let's talk about Alx. Alex Shelley is a fucking star. It's that
"it" people are always gibbering about, in the way he carries himself and they way he moves in relation to everyone else. It doesn't hurt
that he's really, really good at wrestling, really smart about what he does. My associate informs me that at one point he shoved Sabin off of a
pin and made the cover himself, because Sabin wasn't the legal man. What makes Alex Shelley a star? I don't know how to explain it.
I'm left making argument by assertion, pointing at Shelley and insisting that if you don't get why Alex is special you just don't
get wrestling. Alex doesn't do anything that other people don't do, but the level at which he does it is almost absurd. The only thing I
have to offer as proof is this: There were 4 men in this match, all of them doing cool moves and big dives. 2 of the men were PWG regulars, the tag
champs, local stars, etc. Of these men, the only one singled out by name by a member of the crowd is Alex Shelley. My point here is that Alex
Shelley deserves better than this. He should be in a featured match at Wrestlemania, not diving into chairs and spilling pitchers of beer. The only
thing I can think holds him back or his attitude or he's a real asshole or something, because there's no good reason for him to be in
American Leigon halls. His charisma and skill transcend the level at which he performs, and I really hope he starts moving up soon.
The match was what you expect it to be, big dives, lots of 2-man combos, etc. At one point MCMG blasted one of the bucks in the ring while the other
was on the outside and instead of the other buck diving in for a save the buck in the ring kicked out. That's the kind of little touch that
puts over the bucks, that makes this a match that matters. What's left to say? Combos kickout combos kickout combos kickout, culminating in
the bucks hitting a 450 splash followed by a moonsault. Shelley gets on the mic afterwards and puts over PWG and the Young Bucks.
That about does it for night 1, folks. I'm going to have another mimosa and later today I will go watch more wrestling!

PWG 100 - Reseda, CA 4/12/09
The show started out with Excalibur (basically runs the show, billed as the Commissioner of Food & Beverage) coming out and cutting a promo praising
the Young Bucks. He mentioned that after tonight they were going to Dragon Gate, and if they still had the belts they'd be defending them
there. The Young Bucks come out and say that there's a team that they got into the business with, have wrestled up and down the roads with, but
they've never wrestled them in PWG. Tonight that changes.
PWG Tag Team Championship - The Young Bucks vs. The Cutler Brothers
As you may have gathered from my last review, I'm not a huge fan of the Cutlers. They're young, I assume they'll get better with
time but in the here and now they're not that great. They're also two guys doing the fitness gimmick without the bodies to go with it.
But enough ragging on them, the match wasn't too bad. The Young Bucks spend about 60% of the time that they're out there asking for crowd
support, a lot of hand waving and "COME ON BABY!" sort of stuff, and it works. The crowd is into them and because of that they can have a sloppy
match that's still a hot opener. The Bucks win here with their finisher, which I didn't really describe last time. Buck #1 gets in the
corner and climbs the ropes. While he's doing that Buck #2 takes a guy up in a fireman's carry, then points towards the corner and does a
forward roll slam. (Not sure the name for that, like Mr. Kennedy used to do.) As Buck1 comes off the top with a 450 splash, Buck2 pops up from the
forward roll, jumps to the top of the ropes and comes back off with a moonsault into the pin. The match felt like two young teams going full speed
trying to impress me, but personally I came away more impressed with how over the Bucks are than with anyone's wrestling ability.
Scott Lost vs. Rod Strong
This was a very good match. I'm sure part of that is my newfound Scott Lost fandom, but I wasn't fair to Rod the other night. I'm
not a huge Strong fan but he's been in too many matches that I've really enjoyed for me to write him off completely, and I really enjoyed
this match. Instead of a typical start where they do some back and forth and some stand-offs and other generic stuff this started out like a FIGHT.
They went to the outside and brawled, taking advantage of night 2's decreased attendance to spill through some chairs. Lost was crawling along
ringside when Strong came up behind him and laid in some serious forearm shots to the back that looked and sounded great. The match was pretty back
and forth, going in and out of the ring and staying violent the whole time. Lost hit Strong with an Ace Crusher on the floor but it was all for
nothing as Roddy picked up the win with the big boot.
American Dragon Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega
Omega comes out riding a broom like a horse. The match started out a lot like last night's Chuck Taylor match, with Dragon have all of the
reversals and mat work in hand. He twisted Omega's arm up, set his hand into the mat and stomped on his elbow. Omega writhed around in pain
and took of his elbow sleeves off the good arm to put it on his smashed elbow. Dragon took him down and smashed it again, so Omega took a knee pad
off and slid it up around his elbow. Next time Dragon went to smash the elbow Omega just smiled and shook his head. Then Dragon slid the pad out of
the way and smashed the elbow again. Omega was furious and he got on the mic. "I know you're the best in the world," he said, "But
you're only the best wrestler in the world. I WANT A TEST OF STRENGTH!" He put his hand up for the test but Dragon shook his head,
saying he wanted to arm wrestle. They got down on the ground and the ref made sure they started in the middle and they arm wrestled. Omega tried to
cheat, coming up off the ground and even using both hands, but the honest strength of Dragon was too much and he was defeated. That made him even
more mad and when the crowd suggested a thumb war he challenged Dragon in a thumb war. It was a hard fought contest but this time Omega came out the
victor. With the test of strengths tied at 1-1 Dragon suggested they go for the classic one and after doing a quick Warrior/Hogan impression, Dragon
won that test too! Omega, almost out of ideas, challenged Dragon to a rope running contest. Dragon accepted and Omega quickly blew up. He got back
on the mic and demanded to know Dragon's real name. I will do my best to remember exactly how their conversation went.
Omega: What is your name?!?!!
Dragon: John.
Omega; John!!?! JOHN WHAT?
John: John Jacob Jingleheimer.
Omega; John Jacob Jingleheimer?!!?! John Jacob Jingleheimer WHAT?
John: John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.
Omega: (shocked) But! Your name....is my name too! And....whenever we go out...the people always shout, 'There goes John Jacob
Jingleheimer Schmidt!' Na na na na na na na!
Then the crowd started to sing and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt linked arms and began to dance. I am not
making any of this up, this is exactly how this match happened. They danced while everyone sang when out of nowhere John Jacob Jingleheimer Omega
surprised John Jacob Jingleheimer Dragon with a backslide! Dragon kicked out and the match was back on. Upset with all of the trickery, Dragon swore
to kick Kenny Omega's face in and right on cue someone started up the "YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR FUCKING HEAD KICKED IN" chant. Dragon is
in a weird place a lot of the time because he's both a lot better than everyone else he wrestles and the crowd treats him like he's a lot
better than everyone else he wrestles. He's like a former AAA baseball star playing for your company softball team. He's not exactly
dogging it but he's not exactly bringing everything he has. Dragon wrestles at 75% until he gets caught with something, then he puts his angry
face on and brings the stomps or the elbows or what have you. 75% was mostly enough to put away Kenny Omega and that was that.
Joey Ryan vs. Paul London
After the last PWG show I came away really wanting to see Paul London vs. Joey Ryan. London in a six man is fun, but it's not what he's
remembered for doing and what I figure he'd be best at. He'd be best, I figure, in 1-on-1 matches where he gets whooped on, sells a lot,
and takes wacky dives. So I was pretty pleased when they announced this match would be going down.
I wasn't disappointed. London came out in his spaceman suit with a chocolate rabbit and blasted Joey Ryan in the face with it. That was pretty
much the end of the "lol paul london does drugs" shenanigans though, and the rest of the match was Joey Ryan trying to blast Paul London from pillar
to post and London taking crazy dives to try to take out Ryan. They brawled on the floor, London hit a headscissors off the apron throwing Ryan
through some chairs, Scott Lost came out and tried to interfere but London took him out with a dive, leaving him open to get blasted with a chair and
pinned by Joey Ryan.
The good news is that this is exactly the Paul London match you remember. His pacing, his selling, all that sort of thing is still here, he's
still very good at wrestling a plucky underdog match. The bad news is that while his mind is on-point his body is still a half-step out of wack.
More than one dive was overshot or was just a bit short. And while the SSP still looks good it's a mean, mean landing that makes me wonder what
he's got against functioning knees.
Austin Aries/Human Tornado/Chuck Taylor vs. Scorpio Sky/B-Boy/Candice Larae
When they first locked up towards the beginning of the match Larae pulled a sock out of Aries' trunks and everyone laughed at him. Aries
snatched it back and put it back in his trunks like 'HEY I NEED THAT." Good stuff. The match was a pretty typical six-man leading to an Aries
vs. Larae section. He ended up dumping here down and then getting the pin with a kick to the face. The crowd was booing when Aries was putting his
hands on Larae and I don't know if things are different on the west coast or people are getting better, but beating up women has always been a
face move in indie wrestling. Perhaps it's just that people don't know how to handle the sexually relentless Austin Aries. Who can
say?
Tyler Black vs. Davey Richards
Black was taking it to Davey in the beginning and at one point Davey dropped to his knees to beg off. He even offered to kiss Tyler's boots,
telling him that they don't need to do this, etc etc. And this is where Davey Richards sets himself apart from other people, ladies and
gentlemen, when Davey Richards begs off it isn't to sneak in a low blow or otherwise get a competitive advantage, it's just to be a dick.
When Black finally let his guard down Richards spit in his eye and rolled out of the ring. This match was the closest thing to one of those big indie
2.9 matches and because no one else on the card was really doing that sort of thing the match stuck out, in a good way. The match was all big dives,
suplexes and that sort of thing until Davey won with a rollup. I like Davey Richards more and more and I was excited to learn about what went down at
ROH.
Sonjay Dutt vs. El Generico
Lately I've been on this kick where the only thing I can't stand is the mediocre or the boring. I can deal with a movie that's
really bad, a song that is flat-out terrible, a person who is an insufferable asshole, but I will not tolerate anything that's middle of the
road. Being boring is the ultimate sin. That's my problem with Sonjay Dutt. He's not too bad at anything but he's not good at
anything either, he's just out there, stuck in 2002, doing a bunch of shit that I've seen men better than him do (and I'm even tired
of them doing it!) He threw a Randy Orton impression into the middle of the match a reason that I was not able to puzzle out. He begged off and
kissed Generico's boots with no real payoff, despite the fact that DAVEY RICHARDS HAD JUST DONE THAT EXACT THING WITH A GREAT PAYOFF MINUTES
EARLIER. I take back the bad things I've said about Rod Strong and double down on all the one's I've said about Sonjay Dutt.
Generico wins with the brainbuster, the big one in the corner and all that.
PWG World Title - Chris Hero vs. Colt Cabana
Alright, I miss ROH. This was the world title match at the top of the 100th show, and man alive was it a stinker. The kid who I talked about from
night 1? He was back at night 2 and since there were less people there it was easier to hear him and for some reason (I mean it's their
decision not mine but man this was a bad decision) Cabana decided to play to him, which made him louder, which meant the crowd was paying attention to
the kid and not the match, and then some guy fell out of his chair so everyone paid attention to him for a minute, and meanwhile Cabana and Hero are
just going on and on and on with matwork. Eventually the crowd decides the match is probably worth watching but to me it never feels like it matters.
A title match at the top of the 100th show should be a big deal, it should be about the title and the company and matters of consequence. I
don't know. I would have done this differently, I guess that's all I can say. Hero wins with a 2nd roaring elbow, knocking Cabana
out.
I've never been the biggest Chris Hero fan but I've got to give him credit for something he did here. Cabana really did a number on his
right wrist/hand during the match and when Hero went for the post match handshake he stuck out his left hand. Little things, you know? Then the
post-match shenanigans went down. Joey Ryan, who was on commentary, got on the mic and said Chris is a good PWG Champ but the best was Joey Ryan, and
he wanted his belt back. Scott Lost came out and Ryan said that Dynasty used to run things around here, and they jumped Hero. Dragon & London ran
out and made the save. Hero challenged them to a tag match RIGHT HERE AND NOW and Ryan was like "you're crazy, it's 3 on 2, we've
got friends, we'll settle this later." Crowd was into this, wanted Chris Bosh to come out, come back for one more match or whatever.
It'll play out down the road, I guess. But here's where things really get good. When London got on the mic and said "let's here
it for the champ, folks!" he raised Hero's left hand. When Dragon went to raise Hero's right hand, Hero was quick to feed him his elbow
instead, giving him a quick "not the hand, I'm selling the hand."
And that was it. A good show, a bad main event. I think 99 was a better show, but London/Ryan and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt/John Jacob
Jingleheimer Schmidt were the best matches of the weekend.
oh also I asked Paul London if he'd ever met Batista and he was like "um yeah of course I have" it was awesome

Shows sound great, but god, that chant for Dragon is just so fucking contrived and lame.
I actually got that shit stopped at the ROH tapings in philly on Friday, chanting with my buddies "that's chant sucks ass!"
Lame asses finally shut the fuck up after that.

PWG's next show is May 22nd. They're running their tag tournament Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament (DDT 4) again. Which is
a bit of a surprise as Excalibur had stated that there was no plans to run it this year.
Teams announced so far:
- Kenny Omega & Chuck Taylor
- Los Luchas
- Chris Hero & Roderick Strong
- The Dynasty: Joey Ryan & Scott Lost
- And the best team ever...team "Hybrid Dolphin." "Master Dolphin" Paul London & "American Dolphin" Bryan Danielson. I hope they take the
tournament.
Here is their promo. It's one of the funniest I've seen in a long time.
To top it off PWG is already got the Hybrid Dolphin shirt on pre-order.
Oh My Fuckin' God! Will that Dragon/Omega match be on a DVD? All the other matches could be actively bad and I would get a DVD with that match
on it. It just sounds like the greatest thing ever. Dragon killing a guy and humoring him? I needs to see it.

You know, I love London and Danielson plenty as wrestlers and could well by my first PWG DVD to see them as a team but I'm still not sure either
of them should ever be given a mic. Don't get me wrong, I laughed during that promo but it was just at Danielson being unable to compose
himself as London rambled like the lunatic he apparently is. Funny because the performers are laughing at how bad their jokes are is just SNL
quality, if you really think about it.
Still, London & Danielson as a team makes me happy. I wish I liked any of those other teams enough to really care about that.

Lucky, I think the promo can be graded based on what it's trying to sell. I've been to 3 PWG shows so far and if you combine those with
the conversation I had with Excalibur while I was soused, PWG is selling fun. A fun show, fun wrestling, etc. That promo doesn't make me think
I'm going to see an epic match or a heated grudge or anything of that sort, but it does make me think I would have fun watching those two
wrestle.

Oh, there's no doubt that London and Danielson were having fun when filming that and sure, that's the impression I get. If I was local
and doing nothing that night I can see myself saying "It looks like it could be a fun way to spend a night." I was just commenting on it outside
that perspective, even if realistically PWG is an indy that is really probably pretty uninterested in someone like myself who might by a DVD here or
there but will probably never go to one of their shows if solely due to geography.

Happy Birthday PWG. Yes, PWG is having their sixth anniversary on July 31st. Folby, come on down. DevilSoprano, you have mentioned that you were
going to be in the So-Cal area in the near future and you were interested in checking out a PWG show. I hope you will be here in time for
Threemendous II. PWG's Guerrilla Warfare matches always deliver in terms of fun, violence, and over all chaos.

visit the mini-site for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's sixth anniversary event, Threemendous II for all the pertinent information. Threemendous II
takes place on Friday, July 31 at 8:00PM at American Legion Hall #308 in Reseda, CA, and will feature:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Guerrilla Warfare Match
Chris Hero (Champion) vs. Joey Ryan (Challenger)
-- As the length of Chris Hero's Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title reign nears that of Joey Ryan's, Hero has begun to
consider how his reign will be remembered. While Joey Ryan's reign was rife with unsportsmanlike conduct, blatant outside interference, and
copious amounts of cheating, it also took place during a time of tremendous growth for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, leading to many fans' first
exposure to the company occurring while Joey Ryan was top dog. Because those fans would eventually become so enamored with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
that it would consume their lives, they have very positive memories of their first experience with the company, which may give Joey Ryan's title
reign a rose-colored tint. After all, some of Joey Ryan's title defenses were won with help from The Dynasty, powder in the opponent's
eyes, and a chloroform-soaked rag. Meanwhile, Chris Hero has defended the World Championship around the world, against all that would challenge him,
and won each match decisively. Yet still some fans believe he has not proven himself, and that Joey Ryan was an all around better champion.
At The Secret of Guerrilla Island, Joey Ryan defeated Necro Butcher in a No Disqualification match. Prior to the match, Hero said if Joey were to
defeat Necro "fair and square," Hero would consider offering Joey another title shot. Joey Ryan claims that since the match was No Disqualification,
everything that happened that night was within the rules, and all he needed was a Superkick and hook of the leg to defeat Necro Butcher. Joey went on
to demand a rematch, and said that if Hero uses some sort of technicality to avoid putting the title on the line, that not only would the fans be
right to believe Joey was a better champion, but that Chris Hero is a coward, as well. The message left unsaid was just as clear: Joey Ryan's
Superkick packs the power and elevation to put down Necro Butcher, so it could just as easily turn the lights out on the World Champion.
Because of these criticism, and despite the fact that Hero scored an indisputable victory over Joey Ryan at DDT4, Chris Hero has accepted Joey
Ryan's challenge to a rematch. One more opportunity for Chris Hero to prove that he is a fighting champion, and that he will not back away from
any challenge. And one final opportunity for Joey Ryan to prevent the record of the longest reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion from being
broken. But it won't be just any rematch. No, at Threemendous II Joey Ryan has challenged Chris Hero to defend the title in a Guerrilla Warfare
match.
It is the most dangerous type of match to take place in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and both men have survived them before. Joey Ryan has fought in two
Guerrilla Warfare matches, but was defeated in both. Chris Hero only has one Guerrilla Warfare match on his record, but it was a crucial one: On July
6, 2008, Chris Hero defeated Human Tornado in a Steel Cage Guerrilla Warfare Match to win the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship. A little
more than a year later, Chris Hero will be in for the fight of his life once again. This time, there will be no steel cage; "I don't plan on
running, and I don't think he does either," says the World Champion Hero. "I do plan on proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the
greatest Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion to ever wear the belt."
Guerrilla Warfare matches have seen myriad types of weapons used, from chairs and ladders to thumbtacks and razor wire, but the final confrontation
between champion and challenger will likely come down to the two most potent weapons that each possess: the Elbow and the Superkick.
Non-Title Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. 2 Skinny Black Guys (El Generico & Human Tornado)
-- When The Young Bucks emerged victorious from DDT4, Matt and Nick Jackson sincerely felt like there was no more competition left for them in Pro
Wrestling Guerrilla. After all, at Ninety-Nine they defeated the Motor City Machine Guns, who are widely regarded as one of the top tag teams in the
world. Then at DDT4, they beat their long-time rivals Brandon and Dustin Cutler, The Men of Low Moral Fiber (Kenny Omega & Chuck Taylor), and the
greatest thing since sliced bread number 2, Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong, the Hybrid Dolphins, all in the same night. Clearly, Matt and Nick
Jackson are on another level from the rest of the tag teams in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
Or so they think.
At Ninety-Nine, the Bucks were taken to their limit by Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, and the match was a tenth of a second away from a completely
different outcome on numerous occasions. Then at DDT4, The Young Bucks reached the tournament finals by virtue of a string of controversial decisions
(over The Cutler Brothers and Men of Low Moral Fiber), and came within milliseconds of losing not only the tournament, but the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
World Tag Team championship as well. Many fans believed the Bucks should have been eliminated in the first round of the tournament by the Cutlers,
with many more believing that Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor should have been in the finals instead of Matt and Nick Jackson. Not only that, the
questionable officiating seen at both DDT4 and The Secret of Guerrilla Island, all in matches involving members of The Young Bucks, has brought forth
an inquiry into the officiating of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla matches. While The Young Bucks believe they are on a different level than the rest of the
tag teams in the world, they may be the only ones.
Enter 2 Skinny Black Guys.
As one of the most popular tag teams in the early days Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (yes, the first three years now qualify as "the early days"), El
Generico and Human Tornado parted company after losing the World Tag Team Championship to the powerhouse duo of Davey Richards and Super Dragon. While
they remained friends after the dissolution of their tag team, Generico's victory for the World Championship over Tornado, and Tornado's
treatment of Candice LeRae and Chris Hero, severely strained things between the former partners. But as the saying goes, time (and professional
mediators) heals all wounds, and now 2 Skinny Black Guys are ready to once again take the tag team world by storm.
El Generico and Human Tornado are eager for the opportunity to showcase their newly repaired relationship, and even more so for the chance to reclaim
the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. However, the Bucks claim that 2 Skinny Black Guys haven't beaten anyone in almost four
years; why do they deserve a title shot at Threemendous II? A fair point, but one that Generico and Tornado believe they can easily disprove by
defeating the Jackson brothers on July 31.
Singles Match
Scott Lost vs. Alex Shelley
Singles Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Sabin
-- Since they returned to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley, have learned the hard way that the level
of competition has increased exponentially. With their two recent tag team losses, the Guns have decided to test the waters of the singles scene in
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, hoping to find them much more calm and welcoming. However, with each member of the Guns doing battle with a former Pro
Wrestling Guerrilla champion, they will likely find the singles scene to be just as tough.
While Alex Shelley was known as a singles wrestler for most of his career before gaining fame as a member of one of the top tag teams in the world,
the opposite is true for Scott Lost. Lost has experienced unprecedented success as a tag team wrestler, but has been unable to make substantial
progress as a singles competitor. In those successful tag teams, Scott Lost was overshadowed by partners more vocal and flashy than himself, like Joey
Ryan and "Photogenic" Chris Bosh, while Scott was left to do the heavy lifting. What's more, those partners were able to achieve a certain
level of notoriety as singles wrestlers that Lost was never capable of, which has certainly bothered him. After their first round loss at DDT4, Scott
Lost and Joey Ryan have seemingly gone their Separate Way (Worlds Apart). Both Joey and Scott have set their sights on Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's
top prize, and while Joey is in a rush to end the reign of Chris Hero, Scott Lost is happy to bide his time. At Threemendous II, Scott Lost
won't be bringing any rubber birds or novelty umbrellas with him to the ring, he won't have to worry about bailing out Joey later in the
evening. Instead, Alex Shelley will be taking on the most focused, most determined Scott Lost to set foot in a Pro Wrestling Guerrilla ring. Calm
waters? Yeah, right.
Much like Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin and "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson established themselves as singles competitors long before the Motor City
Machine Guns and Hybrid Dolphins came along. However, of the three men, Bryan Danielson was easily the most successful as a singles wrestler, winning
multiple titles around the world, including the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship. But now that Danielson has seemingly turned his focus to
tag team wrestling, Sabin and Shelley are equal parts worried and resentful. Rightfully so, too: On their first night as a tag team, the Hybrid
Dolphins were able to not only defeat the Motor City Machine Guns, but to reach the DDT4 finals and very nearly win the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World
Tag Team Championship. Since Danielson and Strong were able to beat the Guns at their own game, Chris Sabin will attempt to beat Bryan Danielson at
his, one on one, at Threemendous II.
What does the future hold for these fractured tag teams? Will we see future Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title contenders emerge from
either of these dream matches, or will they serve as minor distraction from the red hot tag team scene? Find out on July 31 as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
celebrates its sixth anniversary with Threemendous II!
Singles Match
Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong
-- When Davey Richards and Roderick Strong challenged The Young Bucks for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship earlier this year at
The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, it was a flash pin by Nick Jackson on Davey Richards that ended the match. It was that pinfall that stuck with Davey
Richards and ate away at him for months. At The Secret of Guerrilla Island, Davey Richards had his chance to avenge that loss, and made the most of
it. After a questionable 2-count by Junior Senior Official Patrick Hernandez, rather than turning his anger on referee Hernandez, Davey Richards
gladly dragged Nick Jackson to the center of the ring and forced him to tap out. Clearly, Davey reveled in doing harm to the younger Buck, but after
the match it was like a great weight was lifted off Davey Richards' shoulders. After months, he had found peace, and was able to look ahead to
the future. And that future includes Davey Richards doing the one thing that has eluded him in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla: becoming World Champion.
The loss to The Young Bucks in January did not have quite the same effect on Roderick Strong. Roderick was able to move on quite easily, and even went
so far as to form a moderately successful tag team with "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. They even have their own T-Shirt! Roderick Strong may
actually be more shark than dolphin, always moving forward with ruthless efficiency. At Threemendous II, Roderick Strong has the opportunity to launch
himself into title contention with a victory over another long-time fan favorite, Davey Richards. Does it matter to Roderick Strong that his former
partner, former co-holder of the World Tag Team Championship, stands in his way? Does it matter to a shark where his next meal comes from? Not at all.
Always moving forward.
Singles Match
Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. Chuck Taylor
-- The day that Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor discovered that they shared a common enemy was the worst day of El Generico's life. Normally an
easy going, happy-go-lucky guy, El Generico has been living in constant fear for months now, always looking over his shoulder, eternally vigilant. The
Men of Low Moral Fiber have El Generico so stressed that during a routine walk-through of the orphange he sponsors, Los Angelitos de El Generico, that
Generico blasted a young boy named Ricardo with a Helluva Kick when he accidentally startled the generic luchadore. Something needs to change, and to
help make that happen, El Generico has called on the help of his considerable number of friends. While Human Tornado will watch Generico's back
during their tag team match at Threemendous II, Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana has been called in to deal with Chuck Taylor.
Colt Cabana has come to Generico's aid before, when the Men of Low Moral Fiber were accosting the former World Champion at One Hundred, and now
he will happily do so again on July 31. The friendship of Colt Cabana and El Generico goes way back, and now that Cabana is back in Pro Wrestling
Guerrilla, he is more than happy to help out his old pals. Chuck Taylor will have no such back up at Threemendous II, as Kenny Omega will be off
terrorizing the people of Japan during Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's sixth anniversary. But Taylor has proven that in the ring at least, he
doesn't always need the help of Omega, as evidenced by Taylor victory over Human Tornado at The Secret of Guerrilla Island. But on a night with
Generico, Cabana, and Tornado together and Chuck Taylor flying solo, thing really may not be fun anymore for Sexy Chuckie T.
Tag Team Match
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs. Brandon Gatson & Johnny Goodtime
-- After their disappointing loss to The Young Bucks at DDT4, The Cutler Brothers were very happy to hear about the on going inquiry into the
officiating of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla matches. But rather than wait for the results of the inquiry, which could take months, and whatever action may
be taken after, Brandon and Dustin Cutler have decided to work their way back up the tag team ranks in order to get another shot against their hated
rivals (and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions). After their impressive victory over Youngest Buck Malachi "CK" Jackson and Jerome
"LTP" Robinson at The Secret of Guerrilla Island, the Cutlers hope to further their cause at Threemendous II for another shot at The Young Bucks. On
July 31, The Cutler Brothers will once again take on a pair of newcomers, Johnny Goodtime and the debuting Brandon Gatson.
Plus Jerome "LTP" Robinson takes on Charles Mercury in singles competition!

Hi everybody. Brian Kendrick makes his return to PWG on Friday, August 28th, 2009. I thought his first run in PWG in 04 was disappointing.
Hopefully this one will be better. Heck his first match back is better than anything he did in his first run.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Speed of Sound takes place on August 28, 2009!
By Silverback, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Staff Writer
Reseda, CA - With Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Threemendous II going down in the books as a huge success, it
is now time to follow in the footsteps of many other great promotions and acts, and take this show on the road. We are proud to announce that on
Friday, August 28, 2009 at 8:00PM, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla will embark on the Speed of Sound tour, bringing our unique brand of professional wrestling
to fans all around the world. The single day, single venue tour will start and end in the historic city of Reseda, in sunny California, at the famed
American Legion Post #308 on Friday the 28th.
While the Speed of Sound tour will stop in as many locations as possible, there is a chance that we may not visit whatever remote locale you call
home. Fear not, there will be an eventual tour DVD release, and perhaps next year, if your city reaches the level of a thriving metropolis such as
Reseda, we may end up in your neck of the woods.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Speed of Sound takes place on Friday, August 28, 2009 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, and will feature:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match
Chris Hero vs. Roderick Strong
-- After defeating Joey Ryan at Threemendous II, Chris Hero's path to becoming the longest reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion is
clear. However, there has been much criticism directed at Hero because while he has surpassed Joey's reign in terms of length, he is nowhere
near Joey's record of title defenses. In fact, while Chris Hero has surpassed the average number of defenses for a Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World
Champion (5.34 defenses, avg.), he isn't even half way to beating Joey's record (Joey's nineteen to Hero's nine). So while the
length of Hero's reign is impressive, statistically speaking, he is nowhere near the type of champion Joey Ryan was. And if there is one person
in the company that statistics are important to, it's Roderick Strong.
Wearing reading glasses and a bankers green eyeshade, and equipped with his copy of the 2009 Pro Football Prospectus, along with print outs from
ESPN.com and Football Outsiders, Roderick Strong spent the majority of his time backstage at Threemendous II elbow deep in stats. After all, the
Fantasy Football season is fast approaching, and if Roderick doesn't have a strong draft lineup prepared, the Tampa Teabaggers' season
could be over before it even begins. But when Roderick took a moment to examine the 2009 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Prospectus, he was shocked to find
out that not only did he defeat Chris Hero in singles competition (at It's a Gift... and a Curse), but thanks to the overall wins-to-tile shot
ratio (determined by a number of factors, including opponents' WER, or Wrestler Efficiency Rating, et al.), Roderick Strong was in line for a
title shot. "Bro, if stats can make a boring sport like baseball marginally interesting, imagine what they could do for professional wrestling!"
quipped Strong, who holds a MBA (Business) from the University of South Florida.
If Roderick Strong can defeat Chris Hero to capture the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship at Speed of Sound, all those years of studying and
putting education first will pay some very unexpected dividends. And it could usher in a new era of statistically analysis to professional wrestling!
However, if Chris Hero manages to once again retain the championship, he will have proven that not only is he an above-average Champion, but that at
the end of the day, stats are for nerds, bro.
Non-Title Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Dynasty International (Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson & Joey Ryan)
-- When Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, successfully defended the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship three times in one
evening at DDT4, they discovered what happens when companies allow the ACIDENTES! 888-8888 guy to draw up championship contracts. Typically,
champions have ninety days from the date of their last defense until they must once again defend the title. While the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of
Directors can make exceptions from time to time, the rule is usually followed. However, due to a rather large loophole in the contracts drawn up by
Seor Ocho Ocho Ocho in the early days of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the ninety day periods accrue, meaning that in one night, The Young Bucks bought
themselves nine months free of title defenses.
Of course, The Young Bucks say that once top contenders to their championship present themselves, they would be more than happy to put the titles on
the line. But with Kenny Omega out of the country, and Chuck Taylor and El Generico facing off at Speed of Sound to determine the Number One
contenders, the Bucks claim that there are simply no teams deserving of a title shot. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson and Joey Ryan beg to differ.
Their history as a tag team is legendary, at least on Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson's respective Twitter accounts (@joeymagnumryan &
@Machinegunka), and thanks to that history, they believe that The Dynasty International should be next in line for a shot at the World Tag Team
Championship. However, much like 2 Skinny Black Guys, Anderson and Ryan have not teamed in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla often enough to warrant a title
shot. However, if The Dynasty International is able to follow in the footsteps of Generico & Tornado and pick up a victory over The Young Bucks at
Speed of Sound, they will definitely find themselves in the title picture.
Special Grudge Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Brian Kendrick
-- When Brian Kendrick was last seen on the independent professional wrestling circuit over four years ago, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla had established
itself as (probably) the greatest professional wrestling promotion in the universe, Rick Knox had a flowing head of hair, and "American Dragon"
Bryan Danielson was widely regarded as the best wrestler in the entire world. Sadly, today only two of those three statements remain true, but
according to Brian Kendrick, it's impossible for any of those things to be true.
Without Brian Kendrick in their lives, fans of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla didn't know they were missing. Sure, it's great if some lackwits
think you're the best wrestler in the world, but that's just because Brian Kendrick isn't standing next to you. It's easy to
call yourselves the greatest promotion in the universe, but the second Brian Kendrick Pro Wrestling opens its' doors, everyone else is going out
of business. And it's easy to pretend like the ravages of Male Pattern Baldness haven't effected you, but one look at the long, luxurious
locks of Brian Kendrick tells you otherwise.
A world without Brian Kendrick is not a world that Brian Kendrick wants to live in. That's why on August 28, at Speed of Sound, Brian Kendrick
will return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and show the fans exactly what they've been missing, and why they're better off now than they have
ever been before. Bryan Danielson, on the other hand, is wondering why everyone he knows from the Texas Wrestling Academy is now completely insane.
Reseda Street Fight for Number One Contendership to the World Tag Team Championship
El Generico vs. Chuck Taylor
-- DDT4 was a major turning point for the tag team division in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. A series of very close pinfall attempts on The Young Bucks
lead to many fans believing that Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor, the Men of Low Moral Fiber, should be, if not Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team
Champions, at least in line for another shot at the titles. At Threemendous II, the tag team landscape changed once again when El Generico and Human
Tornado, the newly reunited 2 Skinny Black Guys, were able to defeat the Champions in a non-title bout. A strong case could be made for either team to
be Number One Contenders to the World Tag Team Championship, however very few battles in professional wrestling are solved via arbitration, let alone
ones this heated.
For months, the Men of Low Moral Fiber have been verbally abusing El Generico, and threatening him with physical violence, only for a series of chance
interruptions to prevent an attack from taking place. At Threemendous II, the rivalry was taken to a new level when Chuck Taylor attacked El Generico
from behind, then stated his team were the rightful top contenders. At Speed of Sound, months of verbal and now physical abuse will come to a head
when Chuck Taylor, representing the Men of Low Moral Fiber, will take on El Generico, representing 2 Skinny Black Guys, in a Reseda Street Fight to
determine the Number One Contenders to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship.
Omega and Taylor have stated in the past that they own the streets of Reseda, so it would seem that this type of match would favor Chuckie T. On top
of that, Chuck Taylor has some strong words for El Generico: "Go ahead and laugh it up with your buddy Cabana, but after Speed of Sound, you'll
be drinking your tacos through a straw, amigo."
However, El Generico has never had a street fight, No Disqualification, or Guerrilla Warfare match in his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Career, so he is the
great unknown. It's not easy growing up on the streets of Tijuana, having to fight off hordes of other children for a carelessly discarded
tamale found in the gutter, so one could imagine that El Generico might be in familiar territory come August 28.
Speed of Sound on August 28 will feature three more exciting matches, including:
Singles Match
Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. Scott Lost
Tag Team Match
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs. Brandon Gatson & Johnny Goodtime
Four-Way Match
Human Tornado vs. Shane Haste vs. Charles Mercury vs. Jerome "LTP" Robinson

I'm happy that PWG has started pushing some more storylines again and is including promos on their DVDs.
I hope Hero/Strong have a better showing this time around. I didn't care for the match they had last year.
I'm probably most excited about Kendrick vs Danielson and the Reseda Street Fight. Generico has always been a great wrestler and has not had a
bad match. Now he gets a chance to show that he can shine in a more hardcore environment. His first ever hardcore match in PWG.
I think the 4 way should be fun but I'm probably the only one who care since it's just locals and I'm a big fan of Mercury.
Although some might know Tornado since he did wrestle for WSX and appeared in Nacho Libre.
Here is the Cabana/Generico promo that was mentioned in the press release.
