If we had any faith in this company there would be a chance to do something interesting with keeping the World title match until after the royal
rumble, then have HBK win the RR and interfere to try to keep the title on Undertaker, maybe sowing the seeds for a tweener-heelish character by
ballsing up costing taker the title AGAIN.

New Champ!
Y'know how we are reliving 97/98 why not embrace the interesting "if life were fair" parts of the time?

this then opens the No1 contenders to be contested at No Way Out and adds a reason for Undertaker to WANT to face Michaels at Wrestlemania.

Everyone keeps talking about how winning the Rumble is the only simple way to explain why HBK would be able to show up on Smackdown. Besides the fact
that Jericho proves that doesn't matter, and that Taker will probably show up on Raw next week, you've obviously all forgotten (and who
can blame you) that HBK holds the Unified Tag Titles, allowing him to go to Smackdown whenever he wants.
Hopefully, WWE actually still remembers this and we won't see HBK win the Rumble again. I agree that it should be a new star but, like others
have said, it would be shocking if they put Morrison/Miz/Kofi in that spot, especially if they're already keeping Sheamus in a title match at
WM. Of course, they could always do the thing where they screw the Rumble winner at No Way Out.
6 months ago, I would have thought Swagger could win the Rumble and headline WM but he must have smiled when he wasn't supposed to or
something.
Still, I'll be bored and uninterested if it's Cena/Orton/HHH/HBK/Batista.

It's been a while since we have had a real screwy finish to a royal rumble. I think the last one was the Rock/Big Show tie. But before that we
had some nice ones, Vince winning, Austin winning after being eliminated, and the Luger/Bret tie. Seems like we are due for something like that.

Speaking of screwy finishes, does anyone think the cage match on SD will end in anything besides gay spookiness or both guys getting out at the same
time?
(I just realized spoilers are probably out there already)

Spoilers are indeed about, and it's a decisive win for one of them.
There are other spoilers that I think help shape the RR card, and that may clear up what certain people are doing at Mania. But we'll save that
for next week.
I agree that Cena / Batista is a good call, maybe they cost each other the rumble match.
Tag titles- could Punk team with Gallows and create a multi brand faction? I'd like to see him team with a "saved" Chris Jericho too. Just
gotta pray that Edge is ready to go...
Sheamus going into WM as champ? Ok by me. The longer reign and attention HHH will give the program should help elevate him full time.
As far the other matches- it's clear where most guys will end up, just a case of enjoying the ride there. I'm also praying for a star
making moment of Morrison winnng MItB and cashing in immediately on Sheamus. Or something to that effect...

Wasn't Cena - Batista screwy?

Sure, you might pop a couple extra viewers by telling everyone when so-and-so is coming back. But then the rating will just drop back down again in a
few weeks.
But if these kinds of things happened unannounced then you'd have to tune in more often to make sure that you didn't miss anything and
ratings would go up.
That sounds very iffy though. It's not like a ton of superstars get injured/take time off at the same time, so when you get a surprising
return, it's not like more people are going to tune in in hopes of seeing another shocking return because they are so few of them. I mean,
surprises are nice, I agree with that, I just disagree with them leading to more viewers than when the guy is announced ahead of time and a Raw/PPV
you normally would have skipped gets you to tune it.

Didn't they move the elimination chamber to the PPV after the Royal Rumble so that they could decide the other WWE challenger at WM? Or is it
still 2 title match. Elimination chamber gives us 6 different possible main eventers for either show.

It would all depend on how they use the Rumble victory.
They've defended the title and they've been used for No1 contender, it's all down to what the road to wrestlemania requires

But what's dumber? Adding Luke Gallows to the Batista-Rey cage match or letting Gallows win it?

I forgot that the Sheamus / Orton match would be before the Rumble itself. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Orton loses but gets inserted into
the Rumble. Then, he gets tossed by DiBiase, setting the Legacy breakup.
I wouldn't be surprised to see HBK win and use it to fight Taker (for the title or not). However, as for the idea of an Edge return, I could
see Jericho (with a little help from Show) being the last one standing ... then #30 comes out and it's Edge, indignant about being replaced. A
few quick moves, and Jericho is dispatched (heck, he could even "thank Vickie for the #30 spot"). The Ultimate Opportunist.

Read rumors on another site that they are gonna go with Punk vs. Rey - Hair v Mask @ Mania.
The rumored card was:
Bret Hart v Vince - Street Fight
Cena v Batista - WHC - Cena wins the rumble.
HHH v Sheamus - WWE Title
Undertaker v HBK
Punk v Rey - Hair v Mask
MitB - Jericho, Miz, Kofi, MVP, Swagger, Yoshi, Kane & Finlay. Jericho in here because Edge is nowhere near ready.
Beth Pheonix + Kelly Kelly v Michelle McCool + Maryse - Diva/Womens title tag match.
Christian v Vance Archer - ECW Title
Morrison v McIntyre - IC Title
Edited to add that Big Show is in need of more surgery soon and therefore isn't in the plans for Mania right now.

Show needs surgery, huh? Surprised they haven't had Jericho come out and spout off about, "I got Show to replace the injury-prone Edge ...
guess I was wrong about Show's durability too."
Only thing missing from your card: The Miz.

Oh God no! I hope they never get together again. And if they did, Edge would have to feud with Escobar (or has he been fired for not getting over in 3
weeks?). Besides, Edge would have an easy face pop. Actually, it would be great if he thanked Teddy for giving him #30 as a screw you to Vickie.
