Current plans call for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to be the final Raw guest host on Mar. 15 when the show emanates from San Diego, thus ending an eight month initiative.

Does this mean Tiffany becomes the permanent Raw GM?

Or even better, Abraham Washington (with Tony Atlas as his assistant, of course)?

Oh please, please, please...

If Tiffany gets the gig I'm 100% OK with that.

If WWE decides that after ten years, they've outgrown all possible storytelling devices for having an on-air authority figure and wants to give that a rest for a few years, I'm OK with that, too. Honestly, I don't know if Raw needs a GM anymore. Vince or Steph can show up when necessary, but otherwise I think Raw can flow smoothly without a GM. But again, I'm fine with it if Tiffany gets the job because I liked her a ton in ECW. So whatever. I'm just really happy that I don't have to deal with anymore bored C-list celebs.

I thought The Dwayne was talking about coming back sometime in the summer in a Guest Host capacity.

Guess these things aren't mutually exclusive- the weekly recurring construct can end (YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and there can be a "one time Dwayne comes back and special guest hosts...".

Regardless, great news.

Maybe that Booger dude from Growing Pains was slated as a future host, and his going missing threw a wrench in the upcoming plans.

You mean Boner*. Booger was from Revenge of the Nerds.

*They would have to change his name to "Gut" to fit Raw's nicey-nice standards.

Durrrrrr.

How the fuck do you have a name like Boner on a prime time family tv show...and a name like Booger on an R rated movie? Just seems backwards.

And it would have to be some state of gut, not outright "gut".

Crotch is to Gut
As Boner is to....Beerbelly?

That should be an SAT question.

Kirk Cameron, socially-inept fundamentalist whackjob, controlled that show from top to bottom and probably thought naming someone "Boner" was the funniest thing he ever heard of in his whole life. Kirk probably missed the announcement that "boner" hadn't been used by anyone as a synonym for "error" since the Great Depression.

I think they should keep it as an occasional thing, when they can line up a really good guest host. The way it is now, where they have to get anyone they can because every single week has to have someone, too hit and miss. But they should keep it in the back pocket for The Rock or Will Smith (yeah right) or someone else good.

I'm impressed that this guy has ONLY gone missing. After going through his whole young adult life probably being called "Boner" by anyone and everyone he sees, I would've thought he'd have shot up a post office or something by now.

I dunno, Gooker. I really have a hard time believing that more than 500 people ever remember Growing Pains.

I mean more when the show was on and in the years right after. I'm sure he'd walk into a club or a restaurant and everyone would be like, "Hey look, Boner's here! What's up, Boner?!" I saw what must have been a fairly recent picture of him where he had long hair and a beard, I'm sure all in an attempt to disguise his appearance and not look like Boner. I want to psycho-analyze the guy.

Just to reiterate why I love these boards - A thread can start about Raw ending their GM gimmick and segue into a discussion of the guy who played Boner on Growing Pains.

I didn't realize it, but the guy who played Boner was also Walter Koeings' son, the guy who played Chekov in Star Trek.

Boner was also the Joker in the kick ass fan film Batman: Dead End

I stole this from Lori's Facebook, but...

Holy Jesus fucking Christ he's in the news today. For having his remains found.

quote:
VANCOUVER Police said they discovered a body in a vast urban park and they believe it is the remains of missing American actor Andrew Koenig.

Vancouver police said the body was discovered about noon Thursday in Stanley Park, a location police have been searching for days since Koenig was reported missing Feb. 18 after he failed to return to California.

Vancouver police have scheduled a 8 p.m. ET press conference at the park with the Koenig family.

The discovery comes just a day after Koenig's parents came to the Olympic host city from California to appeal for assistance in locating their son, known for his role as Richard "Boner" Stabone on the television series Growing Pains.

Walter Koenig, the man's father and an actor himself who played Pavel Chekov in the original Star Trek series, said his son was in the midst of a life-long struggle with depression.

So he went to Vancouver and "died"?

Maybe he was murdered by some crazy Slovakian fans that just got Growing Pains and remembered him!

This Olympics has had to many deaths!

I'm never going to Vancouver!

Oh, I remember it too. When I was a young child I remember wondering "why can't my dad be more like Alan Thicke?". But it seems like it didn't leave it's footprint on the nostalgia-pop culture scene the way other 80s shows like Cheers or Three's Company or Full House or the Cosby Show or countless others did where even people who were too young to see them have a fundamental idea of what these shows were all about.

Personally, I'd be all for a network that showed nothing but nonstop 24/7 reruns of Growing Pains, Mr. Belvedere, and the Facts of Life, in that order
