I had never even heard of Pokemon Go a few weeks ago and now it seems like it's everywhere. Though Pokemon is one of the few Nintendo
franchises I never got into, so I really don't have much interest in downloading it on my phone.
And out of curiosity, in what way do you think Nintendo doesn't innovate? They definitely tend to stay a step behind the times in terms of
things that are commonplace with Sony/Microsoft, and that can be annoying, but I think Nintendo has innovated a ton over the last couple of decades
with their consoles and games. Granted, it's not always successful (Virtual Boy, anyone?) but I feel like they're the one company who is
always wanting to try something new, for better or worse.

I think the upcoming backlash will do more than enough to force them to be innovative for Pokemon Go. It's the iconic monster battling game and
they leave the out the battling except for shitty AI fights. What the fuck? Imagine if they did Mario Go, and it's only about finding stars in
your area with no fights with goombas or Bowser.
People are already bitching about it and unistalling it. It'll generate a ton of money of course but no way they can keep their enormous
userbase unless they do some major overhauls going forward.

Anybody else playing Doom? I started a game about a week ago. Campaign mode is pretty stellar with some nice bits of humor thrown in here and there.
I will say as a fan of the Dead Space games, it is a bit similar in tone and I'm hoping for a few more throwbacks to the original Doom games
but all-in-all, a great FPS with some fun weapons and demons to kill.

Just killed the Ender Dragon on Minecraft. Probably gonna start WWE 2k16 next. Still need to get around to a lot of games, tbh.

It's been awhile since I've actually posted what I'm currently playing in this thread, so here goes:
Star Fox Zero (Wii U): Got this on sale from Amazon and started up a game last weekend. I am really liking it a lot and it is very reminiscent of Star
Fox 64, which is a good thing. I totally get the criticisms about the controls, as they are kind of unnecessarily complex, but you get used to them
eventually (though I still sometimes forget "oh yeah, I aim by moving the controller around" in the heat of battle). And having not played a Star
Fox game in about ten years, it feels nice to jump back into the series.
Alien: Isolation (PS3): I'm a huge fan of the original Alien movie and had heard good things about this game, so I picked it up on a whim a
couple of months ago when it was on sale (once again) on Amazon. And yeah, as an Alien fan, it's fucking great. One of my favorite parts is how
they kept the whole "late 70's version of the future" aesthetic alive in this game instead of trying to make everything all super advanced
looking; you feel like you're both in the future and the year 1979, which is awesome. As for the alien itself, I've only come across it a
few times thus far, but I can see it scaring the shit out of me at various points throughout the game (the first time I encountered it in full I tried
to run, and that, um, didn't go so well).
Neo Contra (PS3): So I bought this game way back in the dying days of the PS2, when it was like $10 at GameStop. Fast forward years later and it was
on sale on the PSN for $5, so I downloaded it on my PS3. After originally firing it up just for a bit of nostalgia, I found myself getting sucked back
into it even though I was rusty as hell. But after some long play sessions to get myself re-acclimated with things, my Contra skills are razor sharp
and now I'm somewhat obsessed with getting an S rank on every level, which is super hard, but not impossible.

I haven't turned my Xbox/PS4 on in what seems like forever. With the baby taking up all kinds of time these days (ugh) + catching up on shit
around the house and our ever-filling DVR, I barely have the time.
However, I have busted out the 2DS and lately have been playing Bravely Second. I loved Bravely Default two years back-- so much that I did
everything there was to do in that game-- so it seemed like a no brainer to play the sequel. No idea how far I am into it (I'm on chapter 3 I
think?), but I'm loving it thus far.
Is everyone mad here?
Of course they are, and you are too... otherwise, you wouldn't have come here.
