The bigger issue for Cam is like Tommy said, he's in a conference stacked with QBs. Rodgers and Brees aren't going anywhere. Stafford, if
he stays healthy, has a chance to really become elite. Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, Michael Vick, and Eli Manning are all going to get support based on
records and history. Alex Smith has a chance to really get popular if the 49ers have a good post season and then start next season just as well. Jay
Cutler actually was having a solid year and then it's become clear how important he was to the Bears. Ponder, Bradford, and Newton then have to
continue to show growth and then win some games before they even enter conversations.
Meanwhile the AFC has Brady, Ben, Rivers and then a whole lot of meh. Sanchez is bad. Moore is bad. Fitzpatrick might be good, but he fell off a cliff
after his strong start. Flacco is barely better than Sanchez. Colt McCoy is a backup who starts games. Palmer's past his prime. Orton/Cassel
aren't going to light anyone's world up. Schaub is actually quite good, but injury prone as well. That leaves the rookies: Dalton, Locker,
and Gabbert, so if you want Newton to make a pro-bowl, try and get Carolina into the AFC.

And of course you know on a team of 22 players it's totally Cam's fault he didn't make the Super Bowl and totally Eli's doing
he did.
Cam means a lot more to his team than Eli means to his. If I could pick I would pick Cam the rest of my life over Eli.

I would too, but Eli had a better season this year. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah and the main thing that worries me about the Panthers' post-season chances in the next few years is the fact that we're in a division
with the fucking Saints and, to a lesser extent, the Falcons. We're gonna have our work cut out for us just to get a wild card.

This isn't held up by stats or by the fact that Eli is on a much better all around offense than Cam.

Hey, as KSK said yesterday, Eli leads the NFC in being related to Archie and Peyton Manning. That's got to count for something.

Wait a second, the Giants offense is not better than Carolinas. As great as Victor Cruz has been, he drops as many balls as he catches or runs the
wrong routes. Bradshaw has missed a lot of the year and even if healthy, the Stewart/Williams combo is better than Bradshaw/Jacobs. Manningham and
Nicks are both injury-prone and inconsistent. Smith is a better wide receiver than anyone on either team. And Olson/Shockey are both better tight ends
than any tight end the Giants have.
Carolina has a much better offense than the Giants, but Eli only made it because of his name. Not because he's thrown for 4500 yards and led his
team to like 6 4th quarter wins.

For the record, I'm not on board with the Newton>Manning sentiment, but definitely on board with Stafford>Manning. I think that one's
pretty much indisputable.

Whatever. Everyone drops some balls. Cruz consistently turns short passes and interceptions into touchdowns. Eli has probably 200 extra yards, 3
extra TDs and 3 less INTs then he deserves because of Cruz.
Eli has a better overall team and probably a much easier schedule.
And when did you start loving Eli so much? I thought his overall suckiness and overrratedness was the one thing we agreed on.

I don't love Eli. I think there are 3 or 4 QB's who should have gotten to the Pro Bowl before him. Cam Newton just isn't one of
them. Cruz has also caused 3 or 4 INTs based on him flailing around like a moron and batting balls into defenders hands or running bad routes and
giving up on balls. The Giants defense is in another class than Carolinas, but Carolina's offense is probably a tad better player for player.
Again, there are arguments to be made for Stafford, Romo, and Ryan definitely over Eli and I'd listen to an Alex Smith over Eli argument. I
don't think there's a Eli/Cam argument to be made this season. Cam put up huge numbers in 3 or 4 games and hasn't been that good in
the other 10plus games. Eli's been as good as anyone realistically could have hoped for which means the media will totally overrate him. Also,
if you're asking which QB I'd rather have, after the 6 or 7 guys who definitely were better in the NFC, then I'm still choosing Cam
over Eli. Hell, I'd probably take Ponder, Cutler, and Freeman over him. And that's not getting into the AFC quarterbacks.

It makes me feel dirty when I am compelled to root for teams like the Bears or Steelers, but today rooting for the Dolphins just feels silly.

The way the refs are calling the Bengals game makes me think they have money on the Ravens. Unbelievable.

The countdown to a new Jets OC begins.
10, 9, 8, 7...
And, hopefully, a new QB. Can someone contact Houston and see if either Schaub or Yates is available?

Yeah, Matt Flynn secured himself a starting job next year.
I guess the Jets and Raiders don't want to be in the playoffs, so the Bungals make it by default. They play in Houston, which is only a two
hour drive for me, and I've already got Cincy friends asking if I plan on going. Here's what I told them, "I'll be content
watching from my couch. If it goes as I expect, it will be painful for me to watch. On the off chance that the Bungals win, I don't want to be
the guy in Houston wearing orange-n-black that day."
