Lucha Underground Season 3

The first episode of Lucha Underground Season 3 airs tonight.

Since we've contained our LU talk to one thread each of the last two seasons, what say we make this one the OOfficial LU:3 thread?

I'm so excited I might pee a little.

The wait finally ends tonight! It has been too long!

I really can't wait to see what state the Temple is in and to find out how Dario Cueto gets away with murder.

It's in California. They talk about it all the time. The Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, to be specific.

I'm assuming Dario owes another favor to the corrupt city councilman and his boss Mr Satan from that storyline with Lorenzo Lamas half way through season 2 that they never followed up on.

I have not had the privilege of being able to watch Lucha Underground. I was hoping Netflix would pick it up for streaming. No dice. I keep hearing great things without seeking major spoilers.

Anyway, I am really happy Paul London has joined the roster/cast. Looking forward to seeing how London fits into the program. London has been wanting to be apart of LU since the first season came out.

My cable provider does not carry El Rey Network. Which is my loss. I wanted to also see of their airings of Kung Fu cinema. Any other legal alternatives to view LU?

lz4005, I am also assuming that the evil councilman and/or Lorenzo Lamas will free him from his predicament as the writers are exceptionally good at not leaving any of their plots go unresolved. However, there could always be a swerve of some sort, like maybe Black Lotus will break him out of prison.

Che, Lucha Underground episodes can be purchased on iTunes.

I'm going to just say it was, but was that Honky Tonk Man at the beginning of the episode?

Absolutely was the Honkster.

In the role he was born to play....a non-wrestling extra.

When Slade said "state" I am pretty sure he meant that word in the general sense and not the geographical sense.

You don't say.

PS: I think you get a discount if you buy the whole season on itunes at once as a season pass.

That is what I meant. I had been wondering if the Temple would be in a state of disarray with Dario Cueto out of the picture. However, he got out of prison and it was business as usual when he returned.

I dug the Honky Tonk Man cameo.

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Pentagon DARK was a hot main event to open season three. I had been anticipating that match since Rey first came to the temple.

I loved the way they told the story about beating the shit out of Angelico only to return to Dario Cueto's office with everyone having a hearty laugh over it. That was fantastic. It gave me a good laugh.

My co-worker just told me yesterday that he was flipping through channels yesterday and came across "that Lucha show you watch during lunch." And I was like "what??" I know he has a different cable company than me, but I checked when I got home and Verizon Fios now has the El Rey Network!!! (Granted it's not in HD, but hopefully that'll come eventually) I can watch on TV rather than having to wait to watch at work (my computer at home sucks, and those streaming sites don't work well on my iPad).

I'm beyond psyched and already set up my Season Pass for the show.

Hear here! That match ludicrous!

I'm really into the whole FBI and the coming of war plots. Plus the scene at the end of the show with Mil Muertes and Catrina was truly something else.

I'm so happy this show is back on the air. It really is the best thing ever.

And now we know that Son of Havoc apparently loves Bagel Bites. I knew I liked that guy for some reason!

I was waiting for something like that to happen, since bagel bites has been in the credits as a sponsor this season.

I love that Son of Havoc's mom is Linda Havoc. It explains so much.

Was that the first time Dario Cueto has been shown on camera snorting coke? I can't recall him ever doing blow before.

I want to say it was implied in a scene last season, but nowhere near as blatantly.

Man, I can't get enough of the FBI investigation plot. This week, Dario Cueto definitely tipped his hand. Castro Cortez has to realize that his cover was somehow blown. Personally, I think Dario Cueto made a big mistake by feeding Cortez the OJ Simpson line and then sending him out to the ring to face Pentagon DARK. He doesn't want the FBI sniffing around, sure, but he definitely tipped his hand there. If you're Dario Cueto you either have to have Cortez fixed for cement shoes or you hold onto your intelligence and use it at a later time, when it becomes most advantageous to you.

Now, let's see how long it takes Agent Reyes to trace his blown cover back to Joey Ryan. It isn't like he has any reason to believe that anyone else would have known that he is working undercover as Castro Cortez. When his arm heals, Joey Ryan's got to be going down.

I think tonight's episode was some of LU's best stuff. 2 really fun matches in Cage-Texano and Puma-Matanza. The opening Ivelisse-Mariposa match wasn't bad, but wasn't all that exciting either. Marty continues to be a good at playing the unstable psychopath.

Sami Cal, er, Jeremiah? makes his first appearance as Ivelisse's ex. Looking like they are setting the first Trios champions on their own as Son of Havoc has his hanging out at mom's, watching TV, eating Bagel Bites with Mascarita angle.

Cage and Texano had a great brawl. Texano showing he can go over the top rope with the best of them! Cage continues to impress. The T2 gimmick seemed a lot stronger than recent weeks.

But wow that main event was electric. Puma comes out looking strong in losing after the Muertes screwjob, setting them up for the feud Vampiro was talking about. Matanza's deadlift suplexes look absolutely crushing. Almost would like to see that as a finisher rather than the powerslam version, Wrath of the Gods.

Then we have the psychedelic mystery rabbit promo and Killshot getting love letters! I feel this was the most complete episode of season 3 so far and looks to finally be setting up several solid storylines here.

Is there anyone left for Matanza? They seemed to quietly end the feud with Pentagon Dark, and he's gone through Puma,Fenix, Mil and even Mysterio. Is Sexy Star going to be the God Slayer?

Holy shit Aerostar's no-look-backwards-springboard-cannonball-(probably has a real name but I don't know it)-trust-fall-dive during the Sexy Star match.

What the ever loving fuck.

For those who didn't see it: Instead of a normal suicide dive into a cross body like sane people who want to live do he came off the top rope backwards and sort of curled into the fetal position in the air and trusted that Morrison or Black (I forget) would catch him before he hit the floor on the outside.

And it was more or less meaningless to the match. Literally any safer move would have sufficed to prevent the outside interference.
