End of the Year Predictions
A lot of things happened in wrestling this past year that were surprising enough that I thought this might be a fun thing to do and then come back to
at the end of the year and see who got things spot on and who got things dead wrong. I mean, who predicted AJ Styles would debut and then win the WWE
Championship eight months later?
So what does the end of the year look like in wrestling? What are the main feuds? Who are the champions?
Is Samoa Joe running SmackDown?
Is it the year of Finn Balor on Raw?
Are the Broken Hardyz Tag Team Champions?
Does Big E break from the New Day and get a monster push?
Is Roman Reigns still being given title shot after title shot?
Be as broad or as specific as you'd like. If this gets any interest, I'll try to remember to bump it at the end of the year and we can
compare predictions to what actually happened.

Just playing off the ones you mentioned...
Is Samoa Joe running SmackDown?
He will most definitely feud with A.J. and it will be fucking amazing. But trouble lurks on the horizon. See below.
Is it the year of Finn Balor on Raw?
He will have the most precipitous drop in expectations on the main roster than anyone since Reigns and will be shuttled off to the Cruiserweight or UK
division post haste.
Are the Broken Hardyz Tag Team Champions?
They'll be calling upon the strength of the Seven Deities in Meek Mahan's WWE before the year's out.
Does Big E break from the New Day and get a monster push?
Probably headed to the upper mid-card, occasional one-off main event big guy zone occupied by guys like Harper, Rusev, and Sheamus.
Is Roman Reigns still being given title shot after title shot?
Once Joe is established as a monster, he will be fed Samoa Reigns deeyick in yet another last-ditch effort to get the booiest SHIELD member over.
Cena won't necessarily turn heel in the traditional sense, but he will be noticeably more prickish and Hollywood-y.
Miz will be the WWE Champion.
Renee will 'wrassle' Maryse. Like, Maria Menounos style wrasslin'.
Kurt and Daniel Bryan will wrassle One. Last. Match. Not necessarily each other, but some type of limited skirmish with somebody. Like, say, Bryan
against Miz and Kurt against A.J. or Cena.
Human beings only take so much shit before they decide to do something else. If they take more than that set amount of shit, they're masochists.

*I think 2016 was in a lot of ways a transition year as you had a lot of mainstays spend more time on the bench (Cena, Henry, Kane), or with one foot
out the door (Cena, Orton), so I think we see the curtain come down on some of those guys permanently... I think you maybe see a guy like Sheamus, and
maybe Ziggler also walk away.
*The mid-card and top of the card definitely a bit of a blurred mess... plenty of top guys, but unlike other eras you (well I anyway) get the vibe
that at any point just about any of them could be shunted down into mid-card water treading... the lack of a definitive mid-card and clear cut upper
echelon that you had in other eras might be a good thing if used right, but instead I think the WWE splits up some tag teams and tries to see if you
have any keepers out of that mix... Big E and Cass definitely feel like they could be in line for singles pushes... I think Cass gets a heel run after
turning on Enzo.
*Balor gets hurt... again. Don't know what it is about him, but he just strikes me as a guy who's main roster career is going to be snake
bitten.

I'm with you guys on Balor. I think he had his chance and got fucked over by a freak injury. I hope I'm wrong. I think his initial crowd
reaction on his return will determine his future. If WWE is smart, they'll do it in a smark-heavy arena like MSG.
Joe's a shoo-in, but my prediction for a Styles-style total surprise is Bobby Roode. I think he makes some serious main roster noise this year.
Nakamura also debuts and gives some real juice to the Bullet Club.
I hate to say it, but the Women's Revolution has peaked. I expect less focus on them. The cruisers all get released except for the best:
Gallagher, Swann, Tajiri, Kendrick, Neville.
Reigns continues the monster push, because at this point, what else would they do? They've ruined the poor guy.
Big E gets a push, but it goes no further than it did before. If Wyatt doesn't win the world title this year, he never will. Bo either joins the
Wyatts or gets released.
For surprise exits, Sheamus is on that list, as with Bryan. If Neville is relegated to the CW division permanently, I could see him leaving. I think
Ziggler stays. I could see Zayn leaving, too.

I think by the end of the year both Bella's will hold the Women's title for both Raw and Smackdown, and we're probably going back to
a division dictated by what happened on Total Divas. And by the end of the year, one of Sasha, Bayley, or Becky will be gone.
Also, Braun Strowman wins the Universal Title for a month before losing it to Roman Reigns. He'll then just kind of linger around for a few
years.
The Broken Hardyz will carry TNA to another painful year of barely existing, during which time they will hire three more WWE cast offs who will all
win the TNA title.
Damien Sandow comes back. No one notices.
Jinder Mahal is released. No one notices.
Damien Sandow is released. The internet is outraged.
Cena winds up back on Raw, Seth Rollins heads to Smackdown, and a new Smackdown Golden Age of Rollins, Ambrose, AJ Styles, Samos Joe, Shinsuke, and
Bobby Roode happens. They learn nothing from this when Raw is essentially guys being fed to John Cena and Roman Reigns.

With you on Strowman winning the title, but I have Goldberg taking it from him. They've got to give it to him once, and he might have even
demanded it as part of coming back.

And on that note, Bray Wyatt will finally break through as an anti-hero face in the mold of Stone Cold and Punk. Once the NuGaySpooky Blathering In
Pretty But Meaningless Circles are laid to rest, he's one genuine pipe bomb-esque promo away from lighting the fuse. Look for some transitioning
into that character starting around the time of his dad's induction into the HoF this year if he and his brother are called upon to give his
induction speech.

Brie is pregnant with Baby Danielson, so she'll likely be busy with other things.
Here's a bold prediction-- Reigns continues to get pushed, and continues to get booed.
I think Braun will definitely be US Champ, but not Universal at any point this year.
The Revival will get called up, and unfortunately get torpedoed by the shitty creative team. I'd love to be wrong on that one, though.
Miz will win Money in the Bank.
Is everyone mad here?
Of course they are, and you are too... otherwise, you wouldn't have come here.

I predict the year will end on December 31st.
But really, I'm not betting the farm on that. Cc might be right, with his nuclear optimism.
Other than that? I'm not much of a predicting type. I agree with many of the predictions previously predicted, such as: the Diva Division
Demotion, LolBellaAndCenaWins, BRAAAGH Universal Championship, Finn Broken, and JOE WILL F'N SMACK YOU.
If I have to make an original prediction? Um.... Uh.. Jeez, y'all took most of the good ones. Oh, okay, I got one.
Cena wins BOTH belts at some point this year. Not at the same time, but to push him up to & then over the 16x World Champ mark. Why not add "held
both WWE Titles in the same calendar year" to his resume, if it's not already on there?

Triple H will turn face...leading to Steph being off TV.
Kevin Owens and Jericho will end 2017 as faces...and BFFs.
Roman will end up on SmackDown as a heel.
Miz will turn face and stop being awesome.
Alexa Bliss will be moved to RAW as a face.
Asuka will debut on RAW after Mania.
Daniel Bryan will not wrestle in 2017...but will resign/sign an extension with the WWE.
Braun Stroman will beat both BROCK and Goldberg this year.
Kenta will be released before making the main roster.
Samoa Joe will make the main roster...but won't get a monster push.

On January 29 during the Royal Rumble the clock will count down, the sound of "Patriot" will rip from the speakers, and one of the greatest mark-out
moments in all of wrestling history will happen when Kurt Angle heads to the ring for one more match.

If that does happen, it would have been so, so much better if the WWE hadn't announced his Hall Of Fame induction beforehand. But I digress.
And the WWE is pretty impossible to predict year to year, but I'll throw these out there for 2017:
-Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins will both hold the Universal title.
-After inevitably dropping the WWE title to Cena, AJ Styles will not regain it in 2017.
-Joe and Nakamura will debut on the main roster, Roode will not.
-Alexa Bliss will turn face, Sasha Banks will turn heel.

- Sami Zayn gets moved into a wacky "Hell No" style tag team with Braun Strowman.
- Shinsuke Nakamura wins one of the big belts, maybe Universal to go with his red leather thing.
- More ex-Divas return a la Mickie James (maybe Beth Phoenix, although she and Edge did just have a kid not long ago).
- WWE does a major Lucha Underground raid, signing guys like Morrison, Pentagon Jr. and Mil Muertes to deals.

I was a pretty big Morrison mark by the end of his WWE run, so I'd love it if he came back (though I doubt he'd be used for much more than
mid to uppercard fodder at this point in his career). I know his mic skills weren't exactly stellar, but I feel like he's one of the
bigger "what could have been" guys in WWE history.

Nakamura debuts the night after WM..... he is the breakout star WWE has been looking for and is headlining WM next year.... where he faces John Cena
Sami Zayn is tossing Strowman out of the Royal Rumble
Samoa Joe vs Brock Lesnar at either SummerSlam or Survivor Series
Roman Reigns has a heel beatdown on The Rock. Rock vs Reigns at next years WM
John Cena turns heel finally and him and his Bella wife are a Power couple to be recogned with. He will be backed by HHH and Steph.
Either Cena or Nakamura become a Paul Heyman guy (Im thinking Nakamura as Heyman rolls with thim as a face, this will help with the English
issues....if with Cena Heyman will be there to help heel him up.
Tye Dillinger debuts at 10 at RR and fizzles out
Titus, Curtis Axel, The Ascension, Darren Young, and Otunga gone from the WWE
Cesaro gets frustrated with booking and demands his release
Heath Slater is CW champion at some point, but CW show becomes taped instead of live after Smackdown. They do this to lead Smackdown directly into
Talking Smack on the network.
The Revival debut the night after WM
Omega does not ocme to the WWE this year
Goldberg vs Cena at Summerslam
Kurt Angle is Raw's next GM after Foley
The Hardy's do not return to WWE until they are put into the WWE hall of fame in the next coulple of years.

See, I think the Hall of Fame thing actually helps. A ton of people have already been predicting that Kurt Angle would return at the Royal Rumble, but
if he's announced for the HOF beforehand, that makes it less likely, as no one has been announced for the HOF early on and then showed up in the
Rumble weeks later.
I sometimes listen to people's Rumble entry prediction videos on YouTube at work -- the ones that are just theme music and the occasional buzzer
are easy to have on in the background. Angle's in probably a little less than half. Samoa Joe is in maybe 90 percent. And I don't think
I've found one yet that doesn't include Shelton Benjamin.

Rebook the Invasion...
At Wrestlemania, Kurt Angle forms a faction of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode and Eric Young, where they vow to make the IMPACT that they
couldn't elsewhere. AJ goes for the heavyweight title. Joe goes for the mid-card title and Roode and Young form a tag team. Angle is always
there in a suit and interferes as needed.

The Royal Rumble will not only have the surprise entrance of Kurt Angle, there will also be the surprise entrance of Shelton Bejamin. They will have
a moment where they work together to eliminate a couple of people, until Kurt Angle reverses a Shelton attempt to throw him out and throws Shelton
out.
One of the members of the New Day will win the US championship - all the while New Day still stays together during this time.
This year will not be Undertaker's last Wrestlemania.
By the end of the year, Hulk Hogan will be back in WWE's good graces.
TNA will FINALLY die. The Hardys continue their Broken storyline on Youtube. They end up on WWE TV shortly after. Their run will only be marginally
more successful than the Dudleys was last year. Lashley ends up in Lucha Underground.
A Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament will happen. The Wolves are in the final but don't win.

There are going to be some uninspired or flat out awful rip offs of Broken Matt Hardy. WWE already tried their hand at it with the Wyatt Compouand
match nobody remembers.
Brock Lesnar will have an actual great match somehow, wether it's facing somebody he gets along with or being forced to be competitive due to
facing a new company darling(maybe Balor).
One of three big hosses(Kane, Henry, and Show) will actually for real retire.
