Tonight on SmackDown: the main event pits Shinsuke Nakamura against Randy Orton, with the winner becoming the #1 Contender to Jinder
Mahal's World Title.... while Nakamura had an open and shut case for an insta-rematch, considering the way the Singh brothers cheated during his
initial title shot, it is odd that they are selling this as a kind of clean slate situation, and that Orton (who already had a tortuous 4 month feud
with Mahal) is the guy placed in the way of Shin's rematch....
Best idea I can come up with is that maybe they've decided against doing Nakamura vs. Mahal inside Hell in a Cell (which would have been the
obvious storyline development, if you kept focusing on the Singhs), and are either "demoting it" or just don't want to be booked into a corner
where Mahal would be perceived as an incredible underdog without his goons.... Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon could easily fill in as the main event,
and might even benefit the most from using the Cell as a prop...
If that's the case, they'll need to punch the Warp Speed button on Owens/Shane tonight, so that Shane's pissed off enough to step
back in a Cell for the first time since Taker at WM, and not just annoyed and bemused at Owens' antics...
SD has done a good job setting the table for the rest of the show, too: in addition to the publicized main event, we can also count on.... (1) more of
AJ Styles and the US Open Challenge, and probably more of Baron Corbin being a dick about it.... (2) Dolph Ziggler debuting his new "All Style, No
Substance" persona... (3) Nattie vs. Carmella in a non-title match, but which could easily turn into on, if Carmella feels she gets the upper hand,
and Nattie is vulnerable (with Ellsworth lurking, anything is possible)... and (4) a rematch between Sami Zayn and Aiden English, to make up for the
match last week, which Shane had to strike from the records due to Owen's Referee Hijinx...
More with Breezango and maybe someday finally possibly revealing their attackers, the continuing jetpack attached to Bobby Roode's back, and the
merciful absence of JBL are all other things to get ready for, too...
That is all. End communication....
The flOOr is yours, OO Nation. Don't wait till after 11pm to post, either. Pre-show previewing and prognosticating is certainly welcome.

And just like that, no more JBL. Good luck, Graves.

~ My Thoughts on the Matter of Tonight ~
I liked that spot during the Baron Corduroy/Dillinger match where he slid out of the ring, went around the ring post, and then got back in and
clotheslined Dillinger. Also, I guess we could use some more throat jabs. No one seems to go for the throat enough! NEVER ENOUGH.
Has Dillinger been allowed to do anything of note so far during his main roster time? From what little I've managed to see, he seems solid
enough. Yet it feels like I've read things that sound like he's just sort of gotten shuffled off to the side.
I'm going to judge that Carmella/Ellsworth segment by my general lack of interaction with their stuff on SD to mean that Ellsworth is now being
reduced to a mere sex slave after too many hilarious hijinks that nonetheless backfired while investigating Scooby-Doo-esque mysteries that
weren't being covered by Breezango. Maybe Ellsworth wore a bowler hat and a fake moustache at some point.
This main event's alright too. Alriiiiiiiiiiight. And I can't tell if the person in the crowd with the lime green sign has it upside down
or not.
Edit: I'm also pleased to have Orton get kicked in the face. Or ankled in the face, going by that replay.

Ooh neato, Vince to address the Shane/Kevin situation on SD next week! Too bad it's the series finale of Janerd! this week. Oh well, I had a
good run. Lol, j/k no I didn't.
Fun show tonight. Dunno where they're headed with Dolph, especially if he's well onto the downside of his career or on the way out. For
some reason I want to keep an eye on him as an unexpected Rumble winner. Maybe they give the dude some gold on the way out considering he's not
going to be able to walk without pain in aboot 5 years.
Welp, it's been fun gents. All yOOu miserable fucks can get bent and suck eggs. Avenge me something something, keep on giffin' tranny porn
for no discernible reason, and don't forget to participate in the ULTIMATE

Is it still noteworthy when someone pins both John Cena and Randy Orton clean in the span of about a month and a half?

to wrestle him...."

Maybe not quite as noteworthy as it would have been a few years ago, but I'd wager that Nakamura is the first guy to ever pin Cena and Orton
clean in just over a month's time, so I think it's still a pretty big accomplishment.
And the Shane/Owens storyline has been surprisingly entertaining thus far and really kicked into high gear tonight (Owens' "your family would
have been better off if you hadn't survived that helicopter crash" line got a legit laugh out of me). I'm curious to see where things go
with Vince showing up next week, as you kind of have to assume it ends with Owens laying a beatdown on him.

Owens and Miz always fighting for that best heel in WWE title. This week: Advantage Owens.
I agree, that's Shinsuke's best main roster WWE match so far. The counter of the RKO into the armbar was sweet, the pacing was nice, good
show all around.
I dunno what's going on with the Carmella/Ellsworth stuff, but I popped when she smacked him.
I still feel like Ziggler's shit is just leading to Bobby Roode kicking his ass, but we'll see.

Wow. When you put it like that..... They really have tried to strap a gigantic rocket to Jinder, haven't they? They should try putting him
over the Undertaker next, and compare results with ... That Dawg.
