I'm visiting one of our call centers today and listening to calls in the hardware queue.
Someone just called in because their "dick was stuck in the disc drive".

A very good showing for Team XBOX today at E3.
Of the games previewed, Gears 3 looks frickin awesome.
ESPN on LIVE....
The Kinect (ok put me in the "hate the name" camp) stuff looks promising - anxious to learn more about the game roadmap for 2011. The launch stuff
is more casual (at least what we demo'd), but the Star Wars title is going to rule.
And the new console - slick.

I always download the gamerpics whenever there's a contest relating to them, so maybe it had something to do with that.
Also, I don't usually buy avatar clothing*, but the Edge trenchcoat has me thinking... that thing looks pretty cool.
*I did buy the "Carmine Must Die" shirt last night for Gears of War 3. Everyone should, since it's only a dollar, and the money goes to
charity.

Carmine is my default Cog. He must die. His death in Gears 1 was a great moment in gaming. Almost disturbing in its realism. And his death in Gears 2

A little hard to type while I'm getting the lap dance in my office so forgive any typos.
All the PR points are out there. Price has stayed flat since launch. If price rose at rate of inflation it would be $68 for a one year right now.
It's not.
And you guys are smart enough to know this, but for those who aren't:
You can stack up to 36 months of time on your account.
You can get cheap deals at retailers. Amazon is at $40 right now as an example. Not sure if anyone is in price war mode right now with subs at $30
like earlier in year.
But in any event...buy a few years worth. Throw 'em all down. And then come back and yell at me in 3 years when you've fully consumed
all your cheap LIVE time

I've gotten a few of the 12-month cards throughout the years as gifts, so I think I'm actually paid through the beginning of 2012. Plus,
retailers have sales on the cards all the time, so it's not like it's really that big of a deal.

This is only a "big deal" for people who are buying like 3 month cards from time to time when games come out and/or they've got a $20 in their
pocket.
There are enough promotional deals out there - through retailers or direct from xbox - that this shouldn't be that big of a thing.
Emotional reactions are what are running higher right now. "YOU FUCKING MONEY GRABBING BASTARDS"
EDIT: $37.54 through walmart.com right now. 3 years = $113. Which is $13 higher
than 2 years at current full price 49.99 for a year.
so yeah - deals

This turned out to be kind of a "general 360" thread, so I thought I'd bump it to post
this--

We've contacted Microsoft to find out what North American consumers should do if their console is incompatible with the update. European

That's some pretty good customer service if you ask me.
And I really, really hope mine breaks after the update.

My wisely purchased 2 years of Xbox Live Gold is about to run out this month.
What's currently the best/cheapest way to re-up? I doubt it's buying it straight through the console.

I wound up getting it through Amazon.com for $53. You can get a year for $49.99 or so through Walmart ship-to-store, but I thought the $3 was worth
not going to Walmart.
Not paying for Cable TV, I need Xbox Live for Netflix and Hulu Plus access. It's worth it.
