Yeah, the trios titles match was really short. I'm sure that had to be heavily edited.

It didn't look like Rey had broken the seal on his invitation letter. What if it said, "Thank you for your interest, but I regret to inform you..." I do wish they would have spent just a little bit longer on the training segments. Only 30 seconds or so. I realize this is Metalocalypse-style plot moving, but it feels like we've only just begun.

Yeah that main event was terrific. Great fighting through the crowd, I love Mil Muertes' spear taking both guys to the floor outside the ring. Fenix is the believer's champ! And Matanza is a bloody, bloody man. A monster indeed.

That main event between Mil and Fenix was unbelievable. Such great storytelling, brutal violence, false finishes, everything. The current leader for MOTY in my opinion, right in front of the Zayn-Joe 2 out of 3 falls match last week. Very excited for Aztec Warfare next week!

Matanza never did do a Standing Moonsault.

Not at any point during that extended squash did he do a standing Moonsault.

It was a Shooting Star Press. Matanza did a MOTHERFUCKING STANDING SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!! GOOD LORD!!! CHAVO IS BROKEN IN HALF!!!

Ha! I stand(ing) corrected.

ETA: with that out of the way...what was up with Rey's mask? It looked padded somehow? Like maybe there was some kind of helmet integrated into it?

Good show this week.

I think katrina yelled "get the fuck out!" to vampiro

Why didnt they mention how he brutally killed the crew guy? Thats a murder, man. There cannot be a better way for the announcers to get him over then that.

I thought mysterios mask looked weird too.

Because they don't know he killed him. The backstage scenes happen away from the announcers line of sight. They only see what goes down in the ring.

Good show this week.

Crowd seemed dead for the first match, which was too bad. It wasn't high flyery at all, but a great showing of technical ability and submission holds. Something about snake lady just isn't connecting with the crowd.

Trios match was so much storytelling, but also fun. I liked how they were advancing two completely different angles on each side as well as the mutual respect issue between Mack and Sisco.

ME was a throw away, but set up a future spectacle.

Good that they finally fleshed out Killshot's character. Talk about going from 0 to a full story in one vingette.

Can't make up my mind about Puma breaking his silence. With Konan gone it was inevitable I guess. Maybe I just thought he would have sounded different?

Killshot's backstory was great! He delivered it like a pro. Should have handed him a mic a long time ago. On the other hand, I now understand why Puma got a mouthpiece last season.

The way Matanza has gone through respected opponents though is insane. Finally Mil Muertes comes in and can actually drive Matanza from the ring.

The content of Kill's story was on point but I thought his delivery was just a little flat. Totally a nit pick, I know. But it was so close to being perfect.

To be fair, Puma only said like 5 words. Ima wait until he tries a full paragraph before I decide if he sucks on the mic.

Everything about that killshot piece was great. Glad he's getting a real character now.

So any predictions on who will be the one to slay the Monster? Pentagon becoming the host of his Dark Master and coming back Powered Up would be my preferred choice but I feel that Mil, Puma, and himself will be the guys who get close but fail to beat Matanza. The reign is extended all the way till Dragon Azteca Jr. is ready and becomes the new centerpiece of LU by dethroning the God monster.

I think it's going to be something where all the different representatives of the various "Tribes" are going to have to work together to defeat him, whether it's a multiman ladder match or something like that.

Also, the Trios tournament is leaving me a bit confused, is he introducing a second set of trios belts? Or did he strip the Unlikely Trio of the belts?
