Decided to catch the multi-person opener and rewatch Aleister Black's entrance while I wait for the Hardy return to loop back around on the Wrestlemania replay.

FUN opener. Loved Ohno coldcocking the dude from Sanity slamdancing around like a spaz.

That is all.

McIntyre vs. Oney Lorcan was fun. Oney's my favorite jobber these days and he slapped the living shit out of Drew a few times in there.

I could almost hear Vince drooling over the Cro-Magnon looking dude in the DIY match.

My first thought upon seeing him: "When did the WWE hire Zangief from Street Fighter?"

There's a funny bit on the WWE Youtube channel where Miley (his name is Dylan Miley, which is...horrible) goes to check on the partner he crushed and is the complete opposite of his appearance: "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry, I just overreacted out there, I hope you're gonna be okay, oh man!" So he might have some personality chops to go with that look.

The guy seems to indeed have a few of them there acting chops, hopefully he'll work something interesting into his "big hoss go smash" moveset. Oh and the "Broken Rollins" chant was hilarious.

I'm liking the compressed "Shawn Vs Taker" program they're building with Moon and Asuka it'll add a bit of oomph to the rematch and I'm guessing Asuka finally losing.

Oney Lorcan is great; a very solid hand in the ring, great theme music, and has some unpolished charisma, but he's got two pretty major things working against him:

1- Oney Lorcan is the worst wrestling name since Dolph Ziggler and very possibly just literally the worst wrestling name ever.

2- His look is really generic. He looks like a kid opened up 2K17, spent 90 seconds in the create-a-wrestler suite, and said "fuck it, good enough".

Those are two very fixable problems, though, and if WWE actually addresses them, that guy could easily be an upper midcard fixture on the main roster in a few years.

Yeah, between Oney Lorcan, Dylan Miley and Killian Dain, ye old random name generator has really been dropping some dookie lately.

Lorcan and Miley could actually be a fun tag team - The Primitives or something like that.

Ladies & Gentlemen.. the O'Neders! (That's from a Tom Hanks movie.)

Oney Whatsisface... Is it "Wonny" or "Oh-ney"? Jesus that's a terrible name, especially if it's not his real name. Dylan Miley sounds like a female pornstar. Out of those three, at least "Killian Dain" is not completly terrible, despite sounding like the villain from a Bruce Willis movie.

This gets me thinking...with the signings of AJ, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode who were all mainstream stars with TNA, it's unlikely that we will ever see a guy come from the indies or internationally who keeps their name. WWE can now re-brand anyone they wish.

Maybe the Young Guns keep their names? Maybe Kenny Omega? I don't think there are any other big stars out there with the cache to keep their previous names.

NJPW has become a lot more visible and any big star from there will likely get the same treatment the ex-TNA guys are getting.

It's already a null topic because AAA is so agressive with trademarks but I wonder if any of LU guys would merit keeping their names if WWE had the choice. Pentagon Jr. and Prince Puma in particular.

Prince Puma would probably use the Richochet persona, since he doesn't have to wear a mask for it.

Pentagon Jr. is one of those weird names where it works perfectly and at the same time, if you think about it too much, you're like "What the fuck kind of name is Pentagon Junior?!?"

Awesome sendoff match for Dilinger, and open blading for the first time in a long time, but mostly due to it being Network only I guess.

But most of allI am stoked for Gallagher/Bate next week - and man I marked out for the "Master" line :-D

Pentagon Jr. is no more. In season three of Lucha Underground, he became Pentagon DARK, and since leaving AAA, he has gone by the name of Penta el Zero M or Penta el 0M. He would most definitely need to get a new name if we showed up in NXT, but hopefully one that could fit his current persona and gimmick.

I was a little skeptical with his debut at Takeover, but Aleister Black's really won me over with a few squashes. He gets so many little details just right and conveys a lot of character. He just comes off like such a badass in the cheesy goth way that I enjoy. The kicking the guy in the head, then meditate routine is awesome, the Dracula-style entrance is awesome. This week's show, in fact, was a good showcase for the new talent influx to the brand: McIntyre looked fantastic as well, while Ruby Riot got a showcase in her feud with Nikki Cross (who's my favorite female wrestler not on the main roster, at this point - her crazy routine is fun and different and vivid).

Yeah Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot have leapfrogged all the other girls in NXT to be the top of the bunch by quite a margin, and yes I include Asuka in that.

However - holy shit! Match of the year candidate from Gallagher and Bate this week. Its a long long time since I went straight back and re-watched a match but I did today. More please!

LOL at Regal being so captivated from the Rody video packages that he's giving him a No. 1 Contender's match for the NXT Championship.

Heavy Machinery seem like they're ready to tear up shit on WCW Saturday Night (and that's a good thing, at least to me). Watch your backs, High Voltage!

Strong/Itami was the best WWE match this week by a longshot. Right guy went over, although it feels like you're asking for CM Punk chants main eventing a guy with G2S as his finisher in Chicago (yes, yes, I know Itami did it first).

Aleister Black still kicks ass.

Good build-up from the women's contenders. Nikki Cross' crazy act <3

I so want Pete Dunne to win the UK title. That little shit's gonna be a star. An ugly, pizza-faced, rotten little star.

I'm a bit worried for Gargano and Ciampa. It really looks like Takeover Chicago will be their last big show.

But where do they go from there? SD has The New Day coming in at any moment, the rising popularity of the Fashion Police and AA on hold. RAW is probably where there headed and even their ranks are pretty stacked.

Hell, I figured the ladder match was their way to get the belts off the Authors without them losing by pin/sub.

Got to see Sonya Deville(fka Daria Berenato) at the NXT house show in my area against Aliyah...fans weren't familiar with either of them but Sonya was over by the end of the match. Think she's got a lot of potential.

Surprising that Drew/Ohno/Aleister aren't on Takeover, but I guess there are only so many spots.

Bate-Dunne is my new favorite match of the year. Dope as shit.

"The North Cafeteria, named after Admiral William North, is located in the western portion of East Hall, gateway to the western half of North Hall, which is named, not after William North, but for its position above the South Wall. Another really good show from the NXT crew. Nice swerve at the end, turning the DIY goodbye to an outstanding heel turn/brutal beat down.

Well, I guess that's one way to solve the problem of joining an over-crowded tag division. Fucking amazing that they called back to Ciampa not using the full force of his knee against Gargano last year in the CWC.
