You cannot convince me that what Cena did tonight didn't come from the top. Vince's frustration with Reigns finally came to a boiling
point. He gave Cena the green light to go out there and bury Reigns, just to see how he would respond. The big dawg failed miserably.
I've never considered Cena a great promo guy, but you will see him pull that 1 promo out of every 10 that hits its mark. Reigns was stunned
from the get go and never really recovered. His comeback to Cena sounded like every other guy that's tried to go head to head with him. For
all of John's flaws, lack of composure isn't one of them.
Let's put the endless Roman push to bed and move on. The WWE has a guy to get behind when it comes to physically dominating inside the ring and
his name is Braun Strowman.

I mean, he's definitely beating Cena and probably going to be Stroman's first challenger (assuming Braun takes the title, but I think he
does).
I dunno. This whole feud feels weird to me. It's weirdly timed, it's not about anything, it's super-meta. For all the chatter about
it tonight, it's just not interesting to me. I was hoping we'd get Cena-Joe and Roman-Miz. I'd much rather have had Miz cut that
promo on Roman than Cena. What do you gain from having Cena eviscerate Roman? You don't need to build Cena up and you can tear Roman down and
change his push without having a bunch of 'insider' bullshit to justify it.
I dunno. The whole thing seemed weirdly petty. As said, it had to come from up top, because they only let the most loyal of company men cut those
kinds of shooty promos. Sometimes they work. For me this one just didn't.
Both guys can work, though, so the match should be good at least.

Where was Samoa Joe? The rumors were a Joe-Cena match to main event Raw. It was also supposed to be the main event of the Sunday house show prior to
Raw and he wasn't even there.

Dirt sheetz are reporting that he suffered a knee injury over the weekend that will put him on the shelf for up to 4 weeks.

I think Reigns weak responses are making this seem like a bigger deal than it is. Triple H basically cut the same promo on Cena back when Cena was a
few years into his reign at the top. Cracks about his underage fanbase, being a crappy wrestler, Cena's fake thug voice. Cena just kept it cool
while getting eviscerated and in the long run it didn't change anything.
Cena linking his ''Cena sucks'' chants to Kurt Angle's ''You Suck'' chants was A+ though.

Saw on the dirt sheets that the entire dialogue was scripted that way. Because of course someone would say it was after the fact.
I agree with GEG on this whole thing being weird. Roman / Cena is presumably a big money top draw type of match and it's happening on a non
major PPV and as likely the second-to-the-top match behind Brock / Braun. I guess it can run over multiple events and culminate at Survivor Series
but that's a ways away from WM if the plan (yet again) is for Reigns to go over at WM for the title.

Okay, I hate to be Debbie Downer, but Count Misery wants hypothetical company here...
Cena excoriates Roman. Cena even BEATS Roman, mercilessly, to a bloody wreck. SIERRA. HOTEL. Aw Fuck. Shield Reunion at Cena's Expense because
brothers can't let another brother get beat by Jawn Seena like that...
How is this the end of Project Roman?

My guess for why John Cena vs. Roman Reigns is happening so soon -- at a PPV where it likely won't even headline -- is WWE is worried fans would
shit on the match if it happened at Wrestlemania. They might still shit on it at Night of Champions, but it won't be as central to the show, and
it won't be on as big of a stage, and fans won't have a couple of months to dread it and think of ways to hate it even more.

Or they don't have the balls to do a clean finish right now and the No Mercy match will have some fuckery. Once Cena is knee deep in Hollywood
and just popping buy on a Taker-like schedule is when they have Roman trounce him at WM/SummerSlam.

Just saw the promo. The fanboy in me loved seeing Reigns being taken down a few pegs (although anybody other than Cena would have been
preferable giving it). The smark in me, though, knows that this is being done to elevate Reigns. It makes no sense for Cena to win the feud, and I
can't remember who said it first, but it's being rushed along too fast for it even to resonate other than, "Oooooh, he said THAT". The
whole thing seems weird and oddly desperate.

Grain of salt because I haven't seen it yet, but I'd bet a large some of money that Cena v Reigns is a 1.5 YEAR feud that is now just
starting. Do not be shocked to Cena get a lot of wins over ReBoooo in year 1 of said feud.
If you thought Rock v Cena was drawn out you better take a seat now. This train ain't stopping until 2019 or 2020.

I wouldn't presume that Roman Reigns is winning this match. If Lesnar vs. Strowman and Reigns vs. Cena are happening now - two matches that look
better place at Wrestlemania than they do on a 3-hour Sunday night show in September - then I think Cena is winning it (unless he goes down one in
wins two more, taking the 2 of 3 series win as he is wont to do over the last few years).
After I finished watching Summerslam yesterday, I was convinced that Lesnar vs. Strowman was going to be the Wrestlemania main event. An hour later, I
come here to read what's been happening since then and find out that it's happening in a few weeks. There are only two reasons I can think
to rush into this match:
1) Vince has a terminal illness with only a few months to live and therefore wants to see this match happen right now, GODDAMNIT~! or,
2) Strowman vs. Cena is your Wrestlemania main event. Strowman will be an unbeatable monster from now until then, and as he is the only man with more
mystique than Brock Lesnar, he is the only man who might put doubt into our minds that it is anything but a formality that Cena will win his 17th
World Championship at Wrestlemania.

FINALLY watched The Promo.
That was kind of bad, and stilted, and scripted. Or... I dunno, maybe I'm just projecting that upon them. Anyway, as soon as he said
"y'all want a little John Cena heel-turn, maybe" I cringed. That was way too 'smarky' to be anything close to organic, and so I
must still go back to not giving a crap about Reigns/Cena. If that's the main event for a year and a half, I guess I can skip out on main
events again.

Thought Reigns and Cena was a great segment, but of course, thanks to John. Roman? Still showing how freaking green he is. Even scripted as it might
be, John went out there and killed it, airing out a lot of the things that fans hate Roman for. But Reigns looked like a deer in the headlights,
forgetting his lines, flubbing up "shuffle" for "shovel," even having crap for facial expressions.
Honestly, I think it WOULD be better for Roman in the long run if he lost this initial bout with Cena. I'm not saying repackage him entirely
(too late for that, thanks Vince), but the guy is fucking crap. He can't talk and he sure as fuck can't wrestle a damn - and I don't
wanna hear that about Cena. Cena has put five star matches with people like AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, where he was certainly carrying his own weight
in the ring.
Roman? Outside of the generic moves everybody knows, like clotheslines and what not, Roman's got four fucking moves: Samoan Drop, Driveby,
Superman Punch, and the Spear.. and none of them are worth of note except for the Driveby. I wish, I WISH Vince didn't have his head up his own
ass so much because I'd like to see Roman go to NXT for a year or two, work with those guys, brush up his skills some.. he definitely could use
some time under Papa Hunter.

The funniest thing about this segment is the sign that was frequently shown behind Cena saying "Roman's mic still needs work", given how the
segment was Exhibit A of it.

Not for nothing ... you ok with the hurricane man? My sister is in Houston and seems to have dodged a bullet even though her house is now on a

Hey. HEY. Don't derail the thread. He's fine. Hurricanes and flooding and whatnot aren't important right now. What is
important is discussing this promo where Cena shredded RoBOO. Get your priorities straight dude, geez.

My error. Let me re-rail it with a HAWT TAKE!!!!!
First of all ... um ... ah ... you're a bitch!
And second of all ... um ... ah ... shit, I forget. OOOOOOOAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

***** Please also note that I just intentionally mixed up your OO gimmicks. For my next trick I will make a 7,000 word bullet point review of
