OOfficial Discussion Thread for: RAW (March 14, 2016)
Tonight on RAW: I just typed up a whole 1200 word preview, but lost it because I forgot to enter a subject header.
I am not retyping it.
Short version: everybody is present tonight. HHH, Reigns, Ambrose, Lesnar, Taker, Shane, and then all the rest of the week-in, week-out crew. Unless
WWE latches onto the ultra-sketchy ref call at Saturday (waving off Ambrose's win), WM32 is a known commodity, and it's full speed ahead
in terms of WWE selling us on the card, as-is...
Two known segments: (1) Taker "confronts" the McMahons, which I assume amounts to Taker finally revealing some sort of motivation for doing
Vince's dirty work... and (2) New Day defend the tag titles against ADR and Rusev (New Day beat Sheamus and Barrett on Saturday, with the 3-on-2
edge, but tonight, the LoN has the 4-on-3 edge), which will presumably set up a WM match between the two factions (New Day add a goofy/gimmicky
fourth? New Day chase the tag titles/)...
Not known, but presumed to happen: Reigns steps in and reminds us that he, not Ambrose, is the actual #1 babyface of the company.... Lesnar does
something to refocus energy on him vs. Ambrose... the IC multi-way match keeps taking shape (presently, Owens, Zayn, Neville, Miz are obviously in,
while recent interactions with Owens give Ziggler and Big Show the inside track, too; the only question is, should Jericho/Styles be added to the mix,
rather than doing another singles match? The Rick votes YES, ADD THEM!!!)... Kalisto/Ryback is probably your US Title match... the women's title
match has been set for over a week, and is in good shape.... the Andre Battle Royale should start taking shape, and will probably be a playground for
the Wyatts... if necessary, the Usos and Dudleys could provide a sneaky-fun crowd pleasing match for WM, even if on the preshow... and WWE keeps
putting time and energy into Brie vs. Lana, so that's clearly A Thing, too...
Two stunt cast-y guest stars are int he building: Daniel Bryan and Mick Foley.... obvious/easy reasons: Mick is there to start hyping the new WWE
Network Show he just signed up for, and Bryan tries to add some gravitas to Brie's farewell feud with Lana.... wackier fantasy booking reasons:
Mick finally makes good on his talk of wanting to be in Becky Lynch's corner to counteract Ric Flair (and if so, how about Sasha brings Snoop to
WM32?!?), and Bryan just pulls his general "thorn in the side of the Authority" act to see if he can deflect some of the boos aimed at Roman....
That is all. End communication.
The flOOr is yours, OO Nation. Don't wait till after 11pm to post, either. Pre-show previewing and prognosticating is certainly welcome.
So discuss, debate, and rate!

I've got the Network running in the background and it sounds like they might be teasing some dissension amongst The League Of Nations with Del
Rio and Rusev teasing Sheamus and Barrett that the luck of the Irish wasn't on their side. The LON is donezo, and it bums me out that The New
Day has no other viable contenders on the roster so it looks like we will be getting a title match between the two at Wrestlemania. Not really
something to get to excited for--UNLESS maybe they decide to stack the deck against The New Day and make it a Triple Threat match for the tag titles
against both pairs from The League. New Day vs. Wade/Sheamus vs. ADR/Rusev. That might be the only way to make that match interesting beyond whatever
Xavier does with his hair and/or the extravagant entrance The New Day has promised.
They're in Pittsburgh tonight, so I'm curious if it's far enough geographically or philosophically from Philadelphia to make it
"safe" for them to bring Roman back?
ETA: Only seconds into the show and Xavier is my MVP with a "Katamary Damacy" reference.

Woods is in this match?
Fresh off my swing and a miss with the long-used "announce the days someone has been champion means they're losing the belts" call, do I dare
go with the "The New Day loses tag team matches when Xavier wrestles" theory?

Kofi had his shoulder taped up. Probably hurt it on the botched spot at Roadblock, and that's why he was the outside-guy tonight.

Enjoyed that beatdown. Think the involvement of a slowed down moment at the end of these things where the heels really heel it up by hitting their
finishers one at a time and pick apart the faces is always more effective...kind of an issue I actually have with the usual Wyatts beatdown that is
generally punchy-kicky and nothing else.

Dean Ambrose, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are 3 of the big reasons I'm still a fan of professional wrestling WWE.
ETA: I just learned how to strike out words here yesterday.

As curious as I am I just can't bring myself to type the words required into a search engine to see if there is a Sin Cara equivalent
to...*uncomfortable cough*...N-word Taker. [/mortifiedhankhill]

So far it's;
Ryback
Sin Cara
Rusev
ADR
New Day guys
Any word yet on who quit? Aside from Ryback (good riddance) and maybe Sin Cara (meh) there's no way it can be any of the others that have
already performed tonight.

You know, everyone says it's not supposed to make sense, like that's the whole point, dude. And I'm just saying, you know,
that's like an excuse for lazy storytelling. Just don't sell me shite and tell me it's gold, all right? I might be stoned, but
I'm not high. You know what I mean?

So Roman's returning to help Dolph win and hopefully score himself some goodwill with the fans? ETA: Can't be certain because of the
quality of the feed I'm watching, but that might be the only way to do it since Triple H tried his darndest and got nothing but boos trying to
build up Roman as the last glimmer of home for ending his reign of terror.

I appreciate what WWE is trying to do. There is no way in my mind that Dolph the character woudlnt' take that deal by HHH. His character has
been nothing forever.....and he was promised relevance. I wish WWE could follow some sort of logic with their characters.

Both the Dolph cheers and (Steph prompted) yes chants were underwhelming. Methinks another misfire.

Was the rumor that someone downright quit or was it that someone pulled a Barrett and gave notice that he wasn't going to re-sign after his
current contract was up?

Of course he'd take it. They've been building to this for 3 years and it's finally going to happen!

I think people were done on SS 2014. It's not Dolph's fault. It's not the fans fault. We just can't believe he'll ever
be put in a position of relevance ever again.
Also Roman saving Dolph for a pop? Yeah, I think that much is fucking obvious too. I think the crowd knows the only reason this is happening is to
still get Roman over. So yeah. A big meh all around.
