Rumor Crap 2016, Pt. 3
Dammit, people, once we hit 1000 posts, we start a new one, in deference to the poor, weak, rickety server upon which OO is housed!
When last you spoke on the Rumor Thread, these were the issues:
* Brock Lesnar sucks and his matches suck more, because he only has one move of doom.
* Brock Lesnar may be in trouble after a drug violation (this now has its own thread).
* Cody Rhodes in ROH is happening soon.
* A lot of WWE Alumni are expected to show up and (even if only briefly) repopulate the rosters after the draft.... Tajiri and Rhyno are already on
part time contracts, and MVP is rumored. OO really hopes that those Carlito rumors are true! Longshots would be the likes of Morrison and Rey from LU
(LU has ardent fans, but less than solid financial grounding, and might give up Rey so that they have more funds to do their third season filming the
right way), and maybe, just maybe one major surprise like Angle or something.
* And probably other things, too.....

According to Meltzer, Cena is booked for only six house shows until November. Those being international shows and a MSG weekend.
It's official, the Cena era is over. He's a part timer like Taker and HBK were 7 years ago. With the Brand Split coming up, he could even
be the new Undertaker as SD's titan who overshadows even the top guys just like Taker did when Cena and Batista became top guys.
Also this really opens up the chance for Ambrose/Rollins/Styles to become the top guy by becoming the face of SD while Reigns keeps tanking on RAW.

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed out, because after his US title reign, I really came to like the dude. I never disliked him outright, but I really gained
a lot of respect for him after that. But hell, it;s been a hell of a run, so I'm glad for his sake he's slowing down and pursuing other
things. I'm sure he'll be around forever anyway from the way he talks. Even if it gets widdled down to Mania in 4-5 years or something.

I think he'll still be a regular on TV, so for the majority of fans it won't make any difference.

Per WWE.com, this is how the draft will work.
-Raw has the first overall pick
-Since SmackDown Live is a two-hour show and Raw is three hours, for every two picks SmackDown Live receives, Raw will receive three picks
-Tag teams count as one pick unless a Commissioner/General Manager specifically only wants one member of the team
-Six draft picks will be made off the NXT roster
Interesting notes:
-Brock Lesnar is eligible for drafting and thus could be limited to one brand moving forward.
-The Wyatt Faimly is not protected under the tag team rules so we might see them split
-No mention of drafting non-wrestlers.
I can see the obvious advantage RAW has in numbers being mixed into Steph's rivalry with Shane, so we'll get Steph bragging how she
absolutely has the advantage in quantity only for Shane to make a bombshell of a final draft pick.

That seems like a decent way to bury the other guy. Clearly making a point to say that one member of the team is good and the other member is not. I
would assume taking a team with one pick forfeits the following pick, otherwise there wouldn't be a point in taking half a tag team when you
could just grab them both. Doesn't mention that, though.

EDIT: Can someone move this to the WWE Draft thread since there is already a thread about it, it's big, and it's news?
EDIT 2: First 9 reposted in the Draft thread and I moved my comments over there.

* The Torch is reporting that Gran Metalik and Ibushi from the CWC have signed full time deals with WWE. Expect more cruiserweight signings as they
look to fill out the division.
* Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal at Wrestlemania is a thing that is happening.
* Things are extremely tense on the writing team for WWE because Vince is doing everything regarding the brand split week to week on the fly rather
than planning things out well in advance. Even his decision for the brand split was made rather quickly with no real reason given.

If this is true, it makes an ass-load of sense out of the product they have been presenting.

Shaq vs Big Show makes me happy.
Now we just need that Ziggler vs Jackman match.

Apparently Simon Gotch got into a legit fight in catering with Sin Cara at Smackdown tonight.
For whatever reason, I feel like this will come back to fuck Sin Cara in the ass, more than Simon Gotch.

Not that I wish any ill will towards him, but I agree. After all, this isn't the first dust-up that Sin Cara/Hunico has been involved in
backstage. Sounds to me like he's got a bit of a temper, because Gotch seems like an all around sweetheart.
And I mean that in the manliest of manly ways possible.

But is he The World's Sweetest Man? No. No he isn't.
Maybe all that pomade grease Gotch uses has soaked through his scalp and into his brain, giving him some weird form of CTE.

* The substance that Lesnar tested positive for was clomiphene which is used by steroid users at the end of their cycle to help restore the natural
production of testosterone.
* The Social Outcasts are done as a stable
* Putting Paige and ADR on two different shows was allegedly a deliberate attempt by managment to break them up

Interestingly enough, also the same substance that Jon Jones got popped for, forcing him off that same show.

If this means that they're going to actually try to do something interesting with the
guys involved, cool. If not, it's just another example of them killing off an act for committing the cardinal sin of getting over more than
intended.

Kinda shitty I guess,
if the relationship is really causing problems then maybe just sit them down and talk to them like adults? If anything this seems to make WWE the
overprotective father who'll just drive those crazy kids closer together!

Looks like that other fight was Sheamus being a bully and Sin Cara defending himself.

If accurate, yeah that would be a shitty thing for the big fella to do. Though I do love me some backstage stories where the smaller guy takes out the
supposedly intimidating bigger guy, like Jericho did with Goldbrick.
Dunno, but all this seems like a hearsay fest and/or generalized locker room scuffle stuff.

That's not the first story I've heard of a smaller guy taking out Sheamus. I remember reading back in the day that Yoshi Tatsu smacked
him around a little, too. Who knows if it's true.
Whether Hunico was the instigator or not, I don't see much of a future for him in WWE. Sin Cara has become an albatross of a gimmick since
Mistico fucked it up so badly.

So this is pretty funny. From WWE.com.
quote: After Tuesday nights SmackDown Live, the WWE Universe watched helplessly as the lights quite literally went out on Heath Slater.
The Social Outcast member more than lived up to his former groups moniker when he found himself sitting alone in the dark, the only Superstar not
chosen during the WWE Draft. And though the awkward moment proved painful to watch and may have brought lesser men to their knees, the rejection seems
only to have added fuel to the redheaded rockers fire.
Guess who is the Hottest Free Agent Yeah!!!! Me!!! Slater tweeted, moments after SmackDown Live went off the air. And though his assessment may be
overly optimistic or arguably delusional perhaps he has a point. After all, Slater is also a Slammy Award winner, a three-time WWE Tag Team
Champion and the man who has defeated the likes of Seth Rollins, The Great Khali and Dolph ZIggler.
Any independent promotion with an ear to the ground knows Slater would be a respectable acquisition. Rumors have even surfaced that
sports-entertainments newest free agent has already been in talks with EVOLVE Wrestlings Gabe Sapolsky and has reached out to William Regal
regarding promotions in the United Kingdom.
If Slater does decide to hang up his boots, however, it may well be time for his close-up. With a role in the upcoming film The Marine 5: Battleground
and as host of WWE Game Night on WWE.com, the burgeoning actor appears to have caught the bug. If so, Slater finds himself uniquely poised to follow
The Rock and John Cena as the newest WWE Superstar to conquer Hollywood.
And for those who have clamored to hear him fulfill his destiny as a front-man in a rock-n-roll outfit, dont unplug youre headphones just yet. With
time now on his side, The One Man (Southern) Rock Band may soon be spending days laying down tracks in an effort to rock your face off before long.
Regardless of what path his journey may take, whether in the ring, on a movie set or in a recording studio, Heath Slater isnt about to rest on his
questionable laurels. To paraphrase rocker Neil Young, its better to burn out than to fade away bay-bay!
