Not really a rumor, but more of an observation....
We all have seen how ESPN has been covering WWE more in the past few months.
I was just on their website and they have now launched a separate "WWE" subsite there, if you will, accessible off the homepage, that brings your
right to their WWE coverage. Also an article on WWE women's wrestling is the featured article on the site now.
Just passing it along, since I thought it was interesting. WWE is listed in their sports "hierarchy" right below NHL and Tennis.

There was a cool article on that ESPN link about the WWE's finances. Even better, the trolls in the comments section. Did you know wrestling
isn't a real sport? Amazing insights.

ETA: Semi-serious question that might even be worthy of a whole discussion thread..
Not that I ever see "ESPN Monday Night Raw" being a thing, because football already has that spot, but.. If Fox Sports can link itself with UFC,
would ESPN love to go all the way and be the "official sports channel" of the other major (but in this case fake) fighting organization? They seem
to be heading in that direction, with this current & newfound appreciation of sports-entertainment.
(I know that the two products are NOT the same, nor intended to be consumed by the same audiences, but to "the average person" wrestling/mma are
lumped into that same "combat spectacle" niche.)

You're right that MNF makes this a non-starter, but that aside if there is money to be made ESPN will consider putting it on TV. They've
already completely jumped the shark as a sports company. Much like how we go to the WWE Network for WWE, if I want to hear analysis about a sport
I'll go to the NFL Network, or MLB and NBATV respectively.
If it wasn't for the NFL I'd cancel ESPN. I even asked AT&T; if they had an all sports minus ESPN package but they don't. Other than
the NFL, ESPN is only good for rumors, yelling and wish-kid stories.

If it means we can start calling Roman "Wet-Head BaBOOOOOOOganoosh" then I'm on board.
edit: I was so focused on the MXC reference that I completely whiffed on the Impact Zone reference.
quote: According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has not been at TV for the past two weeks. At this time he is not expected to be
at TV next week and will not be around until Summerslam weekend. He is still very involved with the production of both TV shows, as he was on the
phone during production meetings and micro-managed every single detail of Raw and Smackdown.
Thought this was worth mentioning since there has been some discussion in the RAM and Smackdown threads (RAM in particular) of the shows having
"Vince's fingerprints all over them." If that report has any legitimacy to it then it does make a lot of sense. Near as I can tell you
don't hear of Vince being absent from AH live taping much less SEVERAL WEEKS worth of live
tapings, so it'd make sense that he'd maybe overcompensate on the micromanagement if he's doing it over the phone.

Well, this is interesting:
quote: TNA issued the following press release:
IMPACT VENTURES NAMES BILLY CORGAN AS ITS NEW PRESIDENT,
CURRENT PRESIDENT DIXIE CARTER BECOMES CHAIRMAN
IMPACT Ventures [IMPACT], the parent company of TNA Wrestling and IMPACT WRESTLING, today announced the appointment of Billy Corgan as its new
President. Current President Dixie Carter becomes Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of IMPACT.
As President, Billy Corgan will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations for IMPACT and its affiliated brands. As Chairman, Carter will focus
on long-term planning, strategic partnerships and global growth.
Billy is a visionary, an iconic artist and savvy businessman with an incredibly gifted creative mind. He has built a decades-long successful global
brand, and also has a deep passion and understanding for professional wrestling, said Carter. In working with Billy over the last 16 months, he has
impressed me to the point that Ive been in discussions with him to take an elevated strategic leadership role within the company. The more we
discussed our vision for the organization, the clearer it became that position needed to match his commitment.
We are entering an exciting new era for IMPACT and will be working to continue to define our brand, develop global strategies for success, and
structure for future investment and growth, added Carter. These moves, effective immediately, signify the teams determination to work together to
effectively cover more ground and capitalize on TNAs current momentum that has seen ratings rise in recent months.
Corgan, 49, is an American musician, songwriter, producer, TV writer and poet, best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and sole permanent member of
The Smashing Pumpkins, who have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won multiple Grammy Awards. Corgan joined IMPACT in May 2015 as a
senior producer.
I believe in this company, its passionate fans, the talented roster and the dedicated staff and crew, said Corgan. I am committed to this great
opportunity and will use all of my resources and connections to drive the success of this company. This year we have made significant strides in
establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands.
IMPACTs flagship broadcast IMPACT WRESTLING airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Pop, and in more than 120 countries around the world.

Another big story, possibly even bigger than Corgan taking over Dixie's spot:

Despite being 70, Vince is an absolute workhorse who is always at every taping regardless the reason, so for him to have not been at the recent
tapings plus not planned on being there until the PPV, something's gotta be up. Hopefully its nothing major.

I was really, really hoping that we'd get the headline "WWE Buys Rights to TNA" so that WWE can finally acknowledge places AJ Styles, Bobby
Roode, Xavier Woods, Austin Aries, and Samoa Joe have been. I want them to have that library at their disposal so we can all relive the glory days of
when they first got a show on Spike after WWE left to right before the Main Event Mafia and then that period of time between post-MEM and the
Hogan/Bischoff Ruining. I want to actually LEGALLY watch those $10 Weekly PPV's they did that only a few people ever actually bought. Hell, I
want to relive that one small point in time where they were on Fox Sports back when there was only one Fox Sports and nothing was on it.
Thanks a lot, Billy.

Its a big story indeed. In fact its a rare actually newsworthy story in this part of the world.

I like the idea of TNA's new Grand Championship. It's the type of thought process I was hoping WWE would employ when they came with the
brand split. But despite my applause, I can't help but think that it is a move of desperation because well...TNA.

* Vince is reportedly happy with Rusev & Lana lately, hence Rusev's return to heel dominance recently, and they're no longer in the
doghouse over the way their engagement botched the angle with Ziggler and Hot Summer a few months ago
* Eva Marie's wardrobe malfunction has been one of YouTube's most watched WWE videos over the last few days
* one hell of an ugly social media fight broke out this past week between Tammy Sytch and Brooke Assmacher after Sunny made some ignorant comments
about women posting pictures of themselves when they're pregnant; Brooke fired back big time on Facebook with the money quote here aimed at
Sunny

Another story that, while not as big as the Vince one, is still one that should be very significant to all the up-and-coming talent.
Terry Taylor is leaving the Performance Center due to health issues, and in his place, they're bringing in Shawn Michaels as a trainer. Not only
does Shawn know a lot about the business and how to succeed despite being a smaller talent, he could also tell stories of how to avoid some of the bad
paths he went down in his career.
