Onslaught,

Seems like the Del Rio departure is set as WWE isn't trying that hard to get him to stay.
Solid all around wrestler, insane background(lucha libre royalty, traveled across several promotions, an olympian, and a goddam mma fighter), not
injury prone, but besides his brief face run as World Champ,he never really ''clicked''. Instead being serviceable for most of
his run.
It's weird because other underused guys like Rhodes, Barrett, and Sandow still make chicken salad out of chicken shit.Del Rio never really
shined like that. He was more potential than anything.
And I say this as somebody who loved his LU run.

They polished up the turds they were given far beyond what those bad ideas deserved, but never got a better place on the card. Only more turds to
polish.
After seeing what he did in LU I have to think he just doesn't want to put in the effort when the creative direction he's given
doesn't inspire him.

I only found Del Rio interesting with Rodriguez in tow. I think pairing Paige and Alberto on screen might actually work really well, if WWE had any
interest in keeping him. Both are stagnant right now, so why not?

I can't blame him. I mean, he was given the worst way to follow up a surprise return and victory over John Cena for the US title that had great
fan reaction with that terrible MexAmerica shit. Then put into a really promising stable that looked great on paper but went to shit as well. The
creative direction that's been given to him has unfortunately been pretty poor.
I do hope something comes out of him being on Smackdown, but if not, he could always go back to LU and be badass once again.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but I found it amusing. On Total Divas, Brie and Daniel Bryan have to move in with Cena and
Nikki for three months. At their first dinner together, Cena lays out the house rules:
These are the house rules, it's very simple," John says. "Respect the house as if it were your own and if your habits are leaving towels on
the floor, then change your habits and respect ours."
"Formal dinner once a week, usually on Wednesday. Every morning we will have morning coffee together, we will have an evening fire outside. If you
guys are gonna be up late, please text me or tell me. Do you have any questions?"
I know Total Divas is a total work, and I think it might be Cena's only chance to be a heel because he comes off as a total pompous,
anal-retentive asshole.

100% this. I've always been a Del Rio fan and I don't understand why the WWE had him come back red hot with the surprise return and a
clean victory over John Cena (how many guys get to do that?) and then a month later he was jobbing to Kalisto. I also remember him saying in an
interview that he was "back where he belongs" or something like that after returning to the WWE, making it sound like he was back long-term, but I
guess that wasn't meant to be.
And while we're on the subject, I thought there was way more that could have been done with the League Of Nations (though I guess that part of
the problem was that they were feuding with Roman Reigns for most of their existence, which didn't really help).

Every indication I've seen and from interviews I've read indicate John Cena probably has pretty severe OCD (I'm playing armchair
psychiatrist, but I also have multiple mental illnesses, so...well, yeah, I'll feel kind of guilty about it, I always do). He needs routine and
things to be just so in order to feel safe and comfortable and in control of his life - given how chaotic much of the rest of his lifestyle must be,
maintaining order at home likely becomes extra paramount.
The best thing I will say about him is that he really does just put it out there. He's not passive aggressive - he's very direct. This is
my house, this is how I want it to be, if you don't want to be like that, it's fine, but you can't do it here. Could I live like
that? Fuck no. And I'm sure it's played up to 11 a little bit for the cameras. But he's a super-driven, type A overachiever
superjock dude.
Re: Del Rio - I mean, yeah, he's just never clicked in WWE. He's a great talent, but he's always underperformed there. I don't
know what his best match would be in WWE (Dolph? Punk? That last man standing match with the Big Show?), but despite winning the Rumble and multiple
championship reigns, he's always seemed second tier there.
But honestly, for Paige? I'd probably be okay with being a midcarder 4 lyfe.

Del Rio has never really done anything for me. Which is weird, because I know he's a good worker... I don't know, he just
doesn't seem very motivated. Even under the best of circumstances (like say his hot return and clean win over Cena) he still just sort of seems
to be phoning it in.
I imagine Del Rio is probably what Trump wishes every Mexican working in America was like. That way it wouldn't matter how tall the wall was,
because none of 'em are getting over.

I'm just hoping we don't lose Paige in some bullshit "stand by your man" nonsense she might have concocted in her head the way AJ Lee
did after Punk left.

Is it weird I think Cena is acting just fine? This is a guy who takes care of his cousin's cousin's kids, being strict and firm is the
best way to make sure people don't go overboard and try to take advantage of your kindness. If order and having routines is relaxing to him then
he has a right to it in his own home and all the freeloaders can go fuck themselves.
He might make a shitty father, but he seems perfectly fine as a host. Be clean, be respectful of my routines, and give me a heads up if you're
going to come in at late hours. If you're not going to chip in with rent and honestly have no real business crowding up his home, that's
a fine ass deal.
Maybe it's because I assume everybody shown in that trailer are mega millionaires and don't really have to live with him that it
doesn't register how annnoyingly bossy he is.

I'm pretty-okay with Cena's "My House, My Rules" theory. Isn't that what we all dream about when we're little itty bitty
humanthings? "When I grow up, I'm gonna have a HUGE house and play my music LOUD!!!" and the like. There seem to be two major theories of
hospitality, if I may put it thusly.
The first is outlined above: You are a guest in my space, please behave politely/respectfully/treat it nicer than you would treat your own.
That's pretty simple & straightforward, AS LONG AS you explain what behavior is/isn't allowed. This is the part where a lot of
miscommunication and butthurt occurs. I'll let you fill in your own personally relevant examples of such situations.
The second is: You are a guest in my space, I will treat you like a living god. That's a bit exaggerated, but exaggerated for clarity's
sake. It's basically the situation where guests are allowed to do whatever they do at home, and "we" suck it up and deal with it.
Mothers-In-Law, for instance, are often accorded this treatment in sitcoms, and eventually Much Hilarity Ensues.
As somebody who probably has a touch of the OCD (nothing cripplingly serious, thank grud), I can respect the former. And as was mentioned, when you
have a lot of something, sadly you've got to keep people from taking advantage of that thing. "Being firm" is a very sound way of doing that,
even (especially?) with loved ones.

Doesn't Cena have brothers? That's explanation enough for him being a neat freak. Probably had enough of a bad time growing up with his
brothers intruding into his space, turning the place into a sty, and fucking with his stuff the way they usually do because all brothers everywhere
are assholes to each other. He gets famous, he gets rich, he has his own place, and he gets to set the rules over his own little kingdom. Seems
perfectly legit to me. It ain't a hotel so don't walk into it and act like it is.

stupid video CCharger posted won't autoplay every time I come into the thread.
Also, Ryback has been released.
