THE SMARKY AWARDS
A Healthy Smattering of Idiocy
May 17, 2002

by Kyle Maxwell
Exclusive to OnlineOnslaught.com

What a month we've had! Brand extentions! Fights on airplanes! Scott Hall fired! Lowest ratings in Smackdown history! The WWF becomes the WWE! My Gerbil had kittens! It's fun, it's exciting, it's THE SMARKIES, and we're bringin' em to ya!

Hardway? You mean he didn't Blade during a drunken brawl on an airplane?
"It seems that Hayes and Bradshaw got into a fight on the plane with Bradshaw bleeding hardway"
The Torch

Good point, although it's possible he could of just gnawned through his own forehead.
"How would he blade himself, anyway? Post 9-11, you can't get a mechanical pencil on an airplane, let alone a razor blade."
-John Pi, ITVR

Then he went home and cut a promo on his kids for not cleaning up their rooms.
When Hayes woke up and noticed his missing locks, he cut a promo on Gerald Brisco, assuming he was the culprit.

Damn, that reduces Steve Austin's personal Jobber Stable to 6,532.
Scott Hall was fired by the WWE.

I guess the Brooklyn Brawler wan't available.
Booker T replaced Scott Hall in the NWO.

Because after all, they had to build Booker T up as a credible threat to the Babyfaces.
Booker jobbed (along with the rest of the Raw roster) to Austin with two minutes of joining the NWO.

Everyone else has a Frontal Lobe?
"Brock. means nothing right now. Booker. was a major letdown. It just isn't working with Bradshaw. Despite all this, I was entertained tonight. Why can't everyone else be?"
Torch reader Matt M.

After all, he couldn't POSSIBLY of been selling Taker's attack from the last show.
"seeing Hogan limp painfully to the ring and struggle to even stand upright was a painful reminder of his age"
Craig H, who apparently has never heard of "selling"

It's okay Stepanie, you really don't have to use a fake name.
"Booker T joining the NWO tonight was the beginning of his face turn. On the next Raw, Flair is going to toss him out for not getting the job done (ala Scott Hall) and Booker will begin a face run against the NWO."
Psychic booker Matt L., the Torch

Hey, don't blame US that your writers suck.
"Flair picked [Taker] as his number one draft choice so he can make the Undertaker's life a living hell, and anybody that can't figure that out must be a REAL idiot!"
-Jim Ross, explaining to all us idiots why Flair wasted his #1 draft pick on a middle aged loser with bad knees.

He may be the American Badass, but his hearing has gone the way of his knees.
"Well I tell you what Mr. Undisputed Champion - why don't you put your money where your mouth is? At Backlash, what do you say - me and you? For the belt."
-Undertaker, apparently oblivious to the fact that Triple H had offered him a title shot at Backlash mere seconds before.

I'd probably be offended if I knew what the fuck you were talking about.
"A very watchable Smackdown, not to mention a very luscious Miss Hancock (I'd like her to give me a Hancock)"
-Jeff R, the Torch

After all, it appeals to the intelligent, mature fans like Jeff R.
"I've never understood why the WWF went with her (Stacy Keibler) real name over Miss Hancock."
-Jason Powell, the Torch

It's 'FEUD' dammit, FEUD!
"the WWF, actually made me care about the fued between them."
-Jeff R

I've got an idea- Let's blame how lousy Austin 's been lately on Ric Flair!
"Okay, Flair may be one of the greatest of all time, but he needs to learn how to take the Stunner. The Stunners he took this week and last week were botched."
Torch reader who's name I've blocked from my memory.

No, wait, let's blame it on Scott Hall...
"Man, Scott Hall sucks. Did you see him blow Austin 's Lou Thesz press and the backdrop suplex?"
- Chad S.

...then again, there's always Kevin Nash...
"Kevin Nash couldn't even sell the thesz press correctly"
-Michael K

I hate it when people make it this easy for me.
"Some amazing idiots you have reading your website, Wade,"
-Amazing Idiot Tor Trader, the Torch

Okay, how 'bout the "WWWho Gives A Rat's Ass What the Third Letter Is"?
"With the WWF name gone, perhaps now would be a good time to bring back the only other recognizable name in wrestling, WCW. Or perhaps even ECW. Please, anything but WWE."
-Chris, via the Torch

The time comes when every man must make a stand!
"nah, not calling it WWE"
Dan N.
