OO HEAT RECAP
I Want My, I Want My, I Want My TNN

TV PG DV CC entertainment (same) open. Oh great, they're having the stupid black bar on this show too. I wonder how low the ratings on RAW have to drop before they get it on there too. At least they'll actually start shows near on time. There's the fireworks. How do you start the show on a new channel? Well, obviously:

Rodney Mack (Lafayette, LA, 280 pounds, w/Theodore Long) vs - Your announcers are Lita and Coach, who are still basking in the glow of WrestleMania. Mack has a boxing-like robe with "Dawg" on the back. I'll transcribe Teddy now and regret it later: "Let me holla at you, playa. You know, I've got the 411 on my man Rodney Mack, and one thing Rodney Mack is all about is thuggin' and buggin'. Now, if you take a look at Rodney Mc, you an see that he has no blue eyes. And you can also see that he has no blond hair. And the next thing is, believe this playa, he ain't go no white skin. You feel me? And that's a blatant reason why the man is trying to keep him down, more so than the other white WWE superstars like my opponent tonight, Spike Dudley. Well, I guess you playa's would say that Spike Dudley is a tough guy. Don't act - don't act playa, because you know Spike Dudley is just a nice white boy, and the only reason he's got a job is that his brothers, the Dudleyz, got it for him. And you know Whitey likes to keep it in the family. Well, Spike Dudley, this ain't going to be a family affair, it's gonna to be off the hizzle for shizzle, and now it's time to Back the Mack. Believe that, playa. Let's get him out here."

Rodney Mack (w/Theodore Long) vs Spike Dudley (150 pounds) - Spike tries rushing Rodney but that works not so well, Spike getting pushed down twice. Whip, hiptoss by Mack reverse into an armdrag by Spike. Forearms, whip, reverse, there's the spinning headscissors. 'rana! Stomping in the corner! He's almost out of offense already - so he helpfully gets run over by Mack, then oversells to the floor. Forearm to the back and thrown in. Mack works him over with forearms to the upper back and then yanks Spike's' face. Corner choke. Slam. Cover one two NO. He didn't win on a body slam, shocking. Slam, no Spike slips behind for the inside cradle one no. Spike thrown in the corner, but he ducks a right hand and hits many of his own. Corner whip, reversed, Spike comes back out with the headbutt to the midsection. Odd looking sunset flip is blocked and Spike is lifted up in a high double choke. Mack holds him and leaves him on the top rope, putting his legs on the outside of the ropes for some reason. Ah, going for a superplex, but Spike is punching and biting back, knocking Rodney to the mat. Double foot stomp! Spike does the Tarzan routine and points out Theo on the apron, but Theo gets away before Spike can punch him. Back to Mack - kick wham Dudley - no, Rodney catches him on his shoulder, shoulder powerslam one two three. (2:52) Is that the Dogg Pound? I'm almost remembering my OVW...

Still to come - Trish vs Ivory.

Next, Eric knows Steve's secret.

The commercial breaks are shorter, that's nice.

Ashanti sings America the Beautiful. (:19)

Austin on RAW (5:08)

House of a 1000 Corpses and One Tag Team Title change from Last Monday

Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, NY, 252 pounds, w/Singapore cane) vs Christian (Toronto, ON, 235 pounds) - Coach makes fun for Tommy not signaling to Lita, and then stops and does it. Lita and Coach's lives revolve around people noticing them. How silly is THAT. Now I'll wonder why Lita doesn't say Shut Up Coach anymore. Lockup, Christian with an armbar, hammerlock Tommy with a fireman's carry reversal (!) into an armbar. Twist. Lita's doesn't agree with the snooping Eric did, but agrees with not letting Austin wrestle. She does think he's still useful even if he doesn't wrestle. Into a headlock, shot in the ropes and back with a shoulderblock. Christian and Tommy have a discussion about how Tommy shouldn't work his shoulder and instead should be slapped in the face - like so! Tommy takes it for a second, then takes Christian down by his hair and smashes his head into the mat. Christian tries for a kick, Dreamer catches it, drops it and hiptosses him. Slam. Clothesline to take Christian out. Tommy wants out after him but he's held back - and Christian get in a shoulder to the midsection. Christian manages to snap the back of Tommy's neck over the ropes. Stomping. Crowd getting on Christina as he steps on the back of the neck. Christian tries to make the case that it is really Tommy who sucks, but the crowd doesn't appear to buy it. Reverse neckbreaker. One two NO. Stomp. Knee choke to the back of the neck. Forearm to the back, forearm to the back, working the neck over on the middle rope. Here's the running sit but Tommy moves out of the way! Dreamer up - holding his neck - punch battle with Christian getting the best of it (!). Off the ropes, and Tommy manages a clothesline. And another. Whip, backdrop. Whip, reversed, Christian misses a clothesline and gets powerslammed one two NO! Corner whip, Tommy charges in, Christian moves, Tommy stops short, Christian doesn't realize it and runs into a spinebuster one two no. Tommy going to the second rope and moving his way over - elbow drop comes up empty. Lita and Coach reason that we should call that "middle school." Christina up - Unprettier? No, Dreamer turns out of it, shoulder powerslam no Christian slips behind, Slop Drop one two NO. Christian can't believe he's not done, so he goes to get the "Kendo Stick", says Coach. Lita wonders if it's a good idea for Tommy to keep bringing it. Christian swings but it's ducked - DDT one two Foot on the rope! Tommy waits for Christian to get up, Death Valley Driver, no Christian gets an eye rake and slips of - Unprettier one two three. (4:44)

Last Monday - Isn't it odd how they seem to only be doing stuff with Test and Torrie Wilson on one show? Perhaps Test can just call her during SmackDown for once? I like how this writing is designed to make Test as stupid as possible, as he talks his way into a problem where none exist, then picks the mentally challenged person to speak up for him. (1:28)

Tonight - Trish vs Ivory

Next, Jericho is RAW.

This commercial for RAW heavily features Steve Austin - good planning!

The post-match of Jericho/Michaels (:27)

Jericho and Booker T on RAW (3932-4320) Tomorrow: HBK/Booker T vs Y2J/Triple H. They're consisently pushing the "HBK doesn't wrestle on RAW much" bit every time they hype this match - I wonder how much of an effect it'll have?

Tonight - Trish vs Ivory

Next, the Rock gets interrupted.

WM XIX attendance: 54,097. We see the photos from papers over this.

Rock on RAW. (5:56)

Next - Trish vs Ivory in her first title defense

Lugz Trish Title Victory of Last Sunday

Trish Stratus (Toronto, Canada, c) vs Ivory (w/Last Monday) for the WWE Women's Title, 1st Title Defense - Lita ducks comment on Trish and Jeff. Ivory's hair is more red than it used to be. It's been so long, tho'. Lockup, Ivory gets a waistlock, Trish with an armdrag takeover, cover for zero. Snap mare by Trish one kickout. Ivory with a single leg one kickout. Coach notes that Ivory hasn't been on TV in a couple months (doesn't explain why) while Lita notes that she's getting a title shot in her first night back (doesn't explain why.) Ivory and Trish separate and slap a handshake. Did Ivory turn face? Does it matter if she's not around for two more months? Circle. Lockup, into the ropes, break. Lockup, Trish with a headlock, shot into the ropes and back with a shoulderblock. Picking Ivory up, talking, corner whip, reversed, Ivory charges in but Trish leaps over her, Ivory walks out into an armdrag, kinda. Dropkick. Whip, dropkick but Ivory's got the ropes. Ivory with the jacknife cover for one to no. Hanging slam. Walking side backbreaker one two no. Coach and Lita note that Goldberg's never been a man of many words. Gutwrench suplex one two no. Corner whip, kip up, Trish with a headscissors while holding the ropes and a little delayed in taking Ivory down. Victory roll looks nice though one two no. Ivory has seemed a little bit off but that's to be expected. Chick kick is ducked, forearm to the back, forearm to the back, forearm to the back. Ivory with a corner whip, reversed, Trish charges into a back elbow. Face plant using the hair, one two no. Chop, chop, chop. When Coach says "TNN, the official cable home of the entire WWE", is he saying something about the future (or lack of) of Tough Enough? Or just about it being on MTV? Whip, head down too soon and it's kicked. Stratusfaction one two three (3:26) Trish celebrates with her belt - but Victoria is in and Trish doesn't see her yet - thrust kick to the head! Victoria has her belt back - she's not champion but at least she's reunited - oh, Ivory just kicked the belt in her face! I guess she really is a face. Forearm for Victoria, and now chops on the ropes. Trish up now and she gets in her chops. Kick and Victoria is knocked out of the ring. Victoria is unhappy she still doesn't have her belt - Trish has it and shows it to her.

So does set up a tag team match on RAW? Well, they do hype that other tag team match one more time - and we're out.

Good thing we weren't expecting something new for a new channel.
