TV PG LV CC entertainment open fireworks

Val Venis (Las Vegas, NV, 242 pounds) vs Heat GM Steven Richards (Philadelphia, PA, 230 pounds) - your announcers are Coach and Al - we check them out from behind the desk this week, the better to see Val pose in the ring. Steven looking and smiling at Coach angers the Coach. Coach's explanation for not being around last week is now that he was too tired after hanging around the Divas. Much jokes are made about Todd. Circle. Lockup. Val with an armdrag, and Steven backs away. Val's hip swivel is half missed. Lockup, Val with an armbar, shoulder to shoulder, shoulder to shoulder, shoulder to shoulder, headlock. Steven shoots Val off, Val knocks him down with a shoulderblock. Armdrag. Wristlock. Coach is prohibiting himself from hooking up with the Divas for impartialities sake. Val brings Steven back up, kick, kick, into the corner, right, right, to the ropes, whip, reversed, flapjacked onto the top rope by Steven. Stomp. Stomp. Reverse neckbreaker. Al says the Iron Man match is unprecedented, which means he's desperately in need of a dictionary. Stomps. Choke. Slap to Val's back. Leg choke. Steven celebrates and rushes into a sliding dropkick on Val, knocking him to the floor. Coach: "We prefer to call that the 'sliding dropkick slide'. Sounds much better." If you say so. Val slow in, getting in at five and being pulled into the YAAAAAAAAsuplex - and it works! One two no. Steven tells us this is it and calls for the SteeVeeTee, though the announcers talk over it. Val fights the double underhook, so Steven gives him a reverse neckbreaker instead. Steven poses again, elbow drop. Forearms to the back of Val's neck. KATAHASTEVIE! It's not called. Al's off. I'm off. It's a rest hold despite Steven working the neck for most of this match. Val battling up to his feet, elbows out, chop, chop, whip, reversed, Steven charges in, Val sidesteps and pulls Steven into an inside cradle one two NO. Val with a kick, off the ropes clothesline, back elbow. Running kneelift, and back the other way. Butterfly suplex one two NO. Val argues that it was three, while Steven pulls himself up in the corner. Val charges, and gets into the "Organized Italian Businessmen Kick!" Double underhook - SteeVeeTee blocked, Steven works over the back with forearms again, but Val still won't go. Steven tries kneelifts instead. Off the ropes, right into the spinebuster one two NO. Val surprised that did do it, heading up, heading back down when he sees Steven crawling out of the way. Val grabs Steven but gets dropped by a back elbow. Double leg hook with a foot on the rope, one two NO. Steven dropping his knee pads while arguing the count? Well, that allows Val to slip in his half nelson suplex anyway. Val going up, Money Shot connects one two three (6:38)

WWE Live highlights (1:02)

Maven (Charlottesville, VA, 230 pounds) vs Chuck Palumbo (Providence, RI, 270 pounds) - Coach recommends the Subway chicken and bacon wrap. I guess he's doing a low carb thing. Lockup, Maven is swung into the corner, slap to the face. Chuck argues with Mike Choida about clean breaks, but Maven fights out with a right, right, Chuck stops that with a knee. Headlock, off the ropes, shoulderblock. Kick on the mat. Coach insists on Al calling this match neutrally. Off the ropes, over, under, into the dropkick. Dropkick again, one two NO. Chuck asking for a timeout, and sneaking in a thumb to the eye. Chuck runs Maven back first into the corner. Shoulder. Right. Corner whip, charge into a back elbow. Maven to the middle rope, but Chuck knocks him off with a running boot. Maven tumbles to the apron and to the floor. Chuck going out to collect Maven, thrown back in, cover one two NO. Chuck knocking Maven down repeatedly with knees to the head. Back suplex. One two NO. Neck vice. Maven fights out with right hand punches to the gut, kick is caught and Chuck beheads him with a clothesline. Snap mare, Chuck off the ropes, spine kick. Chuck waiting for his spot, and kicking Maven hard in the spine once again. Chuck looking for his spot again, kick to chest, and lots of stomps to follow. CAMEL CLUTCH! Maven's not going anywhere, but he frees his arms, stands up, and runs Chuck backfirst into the corner before collapsing to the mat again. Chuck recovers first, running Maven over with a knee to the head. Corner whip, charge into a Maven kick. Maven slow out of the corner and gets another right hand form Chuck. Chuck off the ropes, but Maven surprises him with a punch. Clothesline, wheel kick one two no. Maven pumped and going up, top rope cross body with Chuck turning around at the last second but rolling through anyway one two NO. Chuck can't believe it - Maven inside cradle one two NO. Chuck knocks Palumbo down with a clothesline again. Taking his time arguing about the last two count, backing Mike Choida into a corner while Maven gets back up across from him. Chuck charge, maven, jumps up over him, Chuck posts himself, Maven with the corner sunset flip one two three! (6:14

Next: Orton vs Edge

Highlights from the match, starting with the missile dropkick (4:40)

Tonight: Victoria vs Jazz

Victoria (Los Angeles, CA) vs Jazz (New Orleans, LO) - Al hypes the Diva Search: "Think about it - you have the power to destroy a woman's dreams!" Al also points out the advantages of being in the Igloo this week. Circle. Lockup. Jazz with an armbar, into a hammerlock, into a headlock, into an armbar, Victoria reverses into a wristlock, Jazz forearms her way into a reversal, thrown down by the hair. Wristlock is rolled and cartwheeled thru by Victoria to her own on armbar. Jazz use a hairpull to throw Victoria off the ropes, clothesline misses, Victoria with a hiptoss, hiptoss, armbar. Victoria scissors Jazz's arm with her legs and twists, which is kinda neat. It doubles as a pinning combination one two no. Victoria with an armbar, Jazz stops that with a knee. Knee. Corner whip, Jazz charges into a double boot. Victoria goes to the second rope for another double boot, but Jazz catches them and pulls Victoria off very heard. Jazz takes a moment to work some life into his arm. Stomps. Elbow drop, elbow drop, elbow drop. One two NO. Forearms to the back of the neck, around into a front facelock, Jazz rolls forward to make a back bridge reverse chinlock. Jazz rolls back over. Crossface forearms to the face. Corner whip, Victoria is knocked down. Corner whip, Jazz with a back breaker on the rebound one two no. Al: "I can't get enough of hot women!" Jazz with a slam, Victoria escapes behind, inside cradle one two NO. Backslide, one two no.  Victoria with a kick, whip, fireman's carry lift, and dropped with the Spider's Web, one two NO. Jazz rolls out for a break, but Victoria starts to go after her. PESCADO TO NOWHERE! Jazz moved out of the way and Victoria hit the mat hard - she doesn't hit flat, because a foot got caught in the top rope on the way over. Coach thinks she might have clipped the apron as well. That looked incredibly painful. Jazz rolls back in and it looks like she might win this one by countout. One two three four five - Mystery Woman runs in, decks Jazz from behind with a forearm, knocking her out and takes off - six seven eight Victoria crawls in, Oklahoma Roll one two three. (4:19) They're used to seeing the Mystery Woman, but they don't know who it is yet.

RAW: Chris Benoit (c) vs Triple H in a 60 Minute Iron Man Match for the World Heavyweight Championship to start off the show.
